  • UISwitch text not showing on device

    Hi, I have a screen with several UISwitch controls. On my iPhone simulator this screen works correctly and The Switch text shows as On/Off. Different on my testing device (iPod Touch). Here the text seems to get lost and I only get "1" (instead of "On") and "0" (instead of "Off"). I don't know where the iPod Touch is different and why it's not showing correctly. Anyone had a similar experience? Is this a bug? Cheers

There are tons of technical details what is behind the scene and I feel people enthusiasm with ability to customize widgets as never before. I remember those days when VCL library (Delphi) appeared and there was the same enthusiasm in VCL widgets area. Ability to create VCL controls was nearly the must when you was applying for a job as Delphi developer. This situation continued for several years till professional sophisticated 3'd party UI libraries appeared. Hardly you'll have to create your own VCL widget nowadays. Will WPF widgets enthusiasm die as VCL one?

  • How can CSS stop Google Maps loading?

    I have a page with a Google Maps div: <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 100%; height: 332px;" ></div> If I comment out my CSS, the map loads fine: if I include the CSS, the map controls load, but the map tiles don't load: there's just a grey background. This is the case even if I put the map div just after the <body> tag, not within any styled element at all. No CSS, it loads fine. With CSS, no map. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't quite understand what the problem can be if no CSS styles are being applied to any element that contains the map. If more diagnostics are needed, please let me know, and I'll deploy the broken map onto a staging site, so people can look at the source.

  • DataReader or DataSet when pulling multiple recordsets in ASP.NET

    I've got an ASP.NET page that has a bunch of controls that need to be populated (e.g. dropdown lists). I'd like to make a single trip to the db and bring back multiple recordsets instead of making a round-trip for each control. I could bring back multiple tables in a DataSet, or I could bring back a DataReader and use '.NextResult' to put each result set into a custom business class. Will I likely see a big enough performance advantage using the DataReader approach, or should I just use the DataSet approach? Any examples of how you usually handle this would be appreciated.

  • ASP.NET Treeview Control not expanding on click

    I having an issue with the ASP.NET Treeview control. I create the treeview just fine but the nodes will not expand or collapse. I see there is a javascript error but it is for line 1 character 0 of the webpage, there is nothing at line 1 character 0. I am using the ASP:Treeview control in conjunction with the Telerik controls, but I'm not sure if that is an issue. I saw there was a similar question here but the answer is not pertinent to my site. Has anyone run into this issue before? I've tried searching Google and tried a number of proposed solutions but so far none have worked. Thank you,

    Using this bootstrap modal extension and animate.css for fun, how can I take a make an easy ajax modal using :remote => true to fill in the modal box? Also, how would I use the bootstrap modal default "submit/cancel" buttons to interact with a form that's loaded? I'm looking for a more dynamic solution instead of hard-html-ing every modal into the page or using a bunch of jquery ajax calls for each dialog. I've done a few quick searches, but they've turned up nil for this particular solution.

  • Best direction for displaying game graphics in C# App

    I am making a small game as sort of a test project, nothing major. I just started and am working on the graphics piece, but I'm not sure the best way to draw the graphics to the screen. It is going to be sort of like the old Zelda, so pretty simple using bitmaps and such. I started thinking that I could just paint to a Picture Box control using Drawing.Graphics with the Handle from the control, but this seems cumbersome. I'm also not sure if I can use double buffering with this method either. I looked at XNA, but for now I wanted to use a simple method to display everything. So, my question. Using the current C# windows controls and framework, what is the best approach to displaying game graphics (i.e. Picture Box, build a custom control, etc.)

    I am trying to use c# in .net to run dos commands to ftp a a file. Technically, it calls a BAT file which calls a CMD file which executes the DOS code. It was up to the CMD file. The CMD fiel will work if I hardcode the path, but I need to dynamically specify the path of the file. I need to "Post" some data to an external website using HttpWebRequest object from my application(desktop) and get a response back into my application through HttpWebResponse object. I want to count the number of times b element is present (its variable) And i want this count before parsing, so that I can declare an array of appropriate size.   • How to tell the MinGW linker not to export all symbols?

    Hello, I'm building a Windows dynamic library using the MinGW toolchain. To build this library I'm statically linking to other 2 which offer an API and I have a .def file where I wrote the only symbol I want to be exported in my library. The problem is that GCC is exporting all of the symbols including the ones from the libraries I'm linking to. Is there anyway to tell the linker just to export the symbols in the def file? I know there is the option --export-all-symbols but there seems not to be the opposite to it. Right now the last line of the build script has this structure: g++ -shared CXXFLAGS DEFINES INCLUDES -o library.dll library.cpp DEF_FILE \ OBJECT_FILES LIBS -Wl,--enable-stdcall-fixup EDIT: In the docs about the linker it says that --export-all-symbols is the default behavior and that it's disabled when you don't use that option explicitly if you provide a def file, except when it doesn't; the symbols in 3rd party libs are being exported anyway. EDIT: Adding the option --exclude-libs LIBS doesn't keep their symbols from being exported either.

Where do I best put my model? In a separate class library, a copy in every project, in one project, etc. What naming should I best use? Is it good idea to name it MySolution.MyClassLibrary.MySolutionEntities, or just MySolutionEntities or just MySolution? Can you share any useful experience on this subject?

    I have built a basic data entry application allowing users to browse external content in iframe and enter data quickly from the same page. One of the data variables is the URL. Ideally I would like to be able to load the iframes current url into a textbox with javascript. I realize now that this is not going to happen due to security issues. Has anyone done anything on the server side? or know of any .Net browser in browser controls. I'd like to display them in a custom Flash player so that the user could see the spherical nature of the images, and "look up", "look down", "look left/right" (or pan, zoom, etc). (Note that I have a long series of images, so the library must allow for dynamic loading of the images themselves, rather than having the images "baked" into the SWF player.) What is the best library to manage the display of the equirectangular images in Flash? By "best", I mean the most mature, most reliable, most robust, and fastest performing.     well I see some interesting discussions here about static vs. dynamic typing I generally prefer static typing, due to compile type checking, better documented code,etc. However I do agree that they do clutter up the code if done the way Java does it, for example. so Im about to start building a language of my own and type inference is one of the things that I want to implement, in a functional style language... I do understand that it is a big subject, and Im not trying to create something that has not been done before, just basic inferencing... any pointers on what to read up that will help me with this? preferably something more pragmatic/practical as oppose to more theoretical category theory/type theory texts. If there's a implementation discussion text out here, with data structures/algorithms, that would just be lovely much appreciated

    Lets consider a Table STUD and a ROW-Level TRIGGER is implemented over INSERT query.. My scenario goes like this, whenever a row is inserted, a trigger is fired and it should access some script file which is placed in the hard disk, and ultimately should print the result. So, is this thing is possible? and if yes, then this thing should exist in dynamic form, i.e. if we change the content of script file, then the oracle should reflect those changes as well. I have tried doing this for java using External Procedures, but doesn't feel that much satisfied with the result that i wanted. Kindly give your point-of-view for this kind of scenario and ways that this can be implemented.
