  • Problems with deploying struts annotations in ear file

    I am attempting to make use of the struts 2 annotations, what I have found is if I deploy the app as a war file everything works fine but if I deploy my war as part of an ear file none of the struts annotations work only the actions defined in struts.xml work. I can't seem to work out why deploying as a ear file annotations don't work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am using struts 2.1.8 and deploying to Jboss 5 thanks

  • Adding an HTTP Header to the request in a servlet filter

    I'm integrating with an existing servlet that pulls some properties out of the HTTP header. Basically, I'm implementing an interface that doesn't have access to the actual request, it just has access to a map of k-v for the HTTP headers. I need to pass in a request parameter. The plan is to use a servlet filter to go from parameter to header value but of course the HttpServletRequest object doesn't have an addHeader() method. Any ideas?

  • My HttpHandler doesn't want to create directory on a network

    I use this simple line of code inside my HttpHandler: Directory.CreateDirectory(@"\\srv-001\dev\folderToCreate\"); I receive an UnauthoridezAccessException telling me that the access to the path is denied. From here, I create a little Dos application in C# doing the same thing and I was able to create the folder. So, I thought that it might be that IIS is running on a different user than myself. I went to IIS and changed the Application pool to a Custom user, myself. But, unfortunately, I got the same exception. I have try to create a Share folder on my computer and I can create directory. Also, when debugging I can see that System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity have its AuthenticationType to "", IsAuthenticated to false and name to "". So, with all those tests I can conclude that the HttpHandler that receive the file cannot create a directory because of some security access. How can I grand access to my HttpHandler to be able to create a directory (and files) to a network folder?

    I want to execute a query like this var result = from entry in table where entry.something == null select entry; and get an IS NULL generated. Edited: After the first two answers i feel the need to clarify that I'm using Entity Framework and not Linq to SQL. The object.Equals() method does not seem to work in EF. Edit no.2: The above query works as intended. It correctly generates IS NULL. My production code however was var value = null; var result = from entry in table where entry.something == value select entry; and the generated SQL was something = @p; @p = NULL. It seems that EF correctly translates the constant expression but if a variable is involved it treats it just like a normal comparison. Makes sense actually. I'll close this question

    Hello, Q1 Any assemblies stored in Bin directory will automatically be referenced by web application. We can add assembly reference via Website -- Add Reference or simply by copying dll into Bin folder. But I noticed that when we add reference via Website -- Add Reference, that additional files with .pdb extension are placed inside Bin. If these files are also needed, then why does reference still work even if we only place referenced dll into Bin, but not pdb files Q2 It appears that if you add a new item to web project, this class will automatically be added to project list and we can reference it from all pages in this project. So are all files added to project list automatically being referenced ? thanx EDIT: On your second question, you are adding a public class to a namespace so will be visible to other classes in that project and in that namespace. I don’t know much about assemblies, but I’d assume the reason why item( class ) added to the project is visible to other classes in that project is for the simple fact that in web project all classes get compiled into single assembly and for the fact that public classes contained in the same assembly are always visible to each other? much appreciated

You can make the factory to retry connecting a certain number of times but... is it possible to make some actions each time that a reconnection retrial is neccesary?   • Servlet requests are executed sequentially for no apparent reason in Glassfish v3

    Hi, I'm using Glassfish 3 Web profile and can't get http workers to execute concurrently requests on a servlet. This is how i observed the problem. I've made a very simple servlet, that writes the current thread name to the standard output and sleep for 10 seconds : protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getName()); try { Thread.sleep(10000); // 10 sec } catch (InterruptedException ex) {} } } And when i'm running several simultaneous requests, I clearly see in the logs that the requests are sequentially executed (one trace every 10 seconds). INFO: http-thread-pool-8080-(2) (10 seconds later...) INFO: http-thread-pool-8080-(1) (10 seconds later...) INFO: http-thread-pool-8080-(2) etc. All my GF settings are untouched - it's the out-of-the-box config (the default thread pool is 2 threads min, 5 max if I recall properly). ...I really don't understand why the sleep() block all the others worker threads.     Hi, I need a field that displays the datepicker. I followed the example given by the JQuery UI documentation and haven't managed to get it to work. My html where I have my text field is: <div class="editor-field"> <input type = "text" name = "DatePublished" id = "Published" /> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("DatePublished" ,"*") %> </div> This HTML is in a partial view, lets call it pv.ascx, and it is called in the main page as a modal box: <div id = "ModalBox"> <% Html.RenderAction("pv", "Example"); %> </div> The thing is, that I try to call the datepicker creation anytime I enter the main page, and I do it in my javascript file app.js: $().ready(function() { var place = window.location.pathname; var placesplit = place.split("/"); //Depending on the location we are on, we execute different subroutines $('#Published').datepicker(); }); But nothing happens when I focus on the text field.   • Help me stabilize this jRun configuration (CF9/Win2k3/IIS6)

    Not sure if this would be better suited for ServerFault, but since I am not an admin but a developer I figured I would try SO. We've been struggling to keep our multi-server configuration stable for quite some time now. At the end of last month we were running under CF 7.0.2 on a two servers setup (one instance each). At that point we managed to get our uptime to around 1 week per instance before they would restart by themselves. Since the beginning of the month we upgraded to CF 9 and we're back to square one with multi-restart a day. Our current configuration is 2 Win2k3 servers, running a cluster of 4 instances, 2 instances per server. At this point we are pretty certain this is due to improper JVM settings. We've been toying with them and while some are more stable than others we never quite got it right. From the default: java.args=-server -Xmx512m -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -XX:+UseParallelGC -Dcoldfusion.rootDir={application.home}/ To currently: java.args=-server -Xmx896m -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -XX:SurvivorRatio=8 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:+UseParallelGC -Dcoldfusion.rootDir={application.home}/ -verbose:gc -Xloggc:c:/Jrun4/logs/gc/gcInstance1b.log We have determined that we do need more than the default 512MB simply by monitoring with FusionReactor, on average our amount of memory consumed is hovering in the mid 300MB and can go up to low 700MB under heavy load. Most of the crash will be logged in jrun4/bin/hs_err_pid*.log always an "Out of swap space" I've attached links to the hs_err and garbage collector log file from yesterday at the bottom of the post. The relevant part is (I think) this: Heap PSYoungGen total 89856K, used 19025K [0x55490000, 0x5b6f0000, 0x5b810000) eden space 79232K, 16% used [0x55490000,0x561a64c0,0x5a1f0000) from space 10624K, 52% used [0x5ac90000,0x5b20e2f8,0x5b6f0000) to space 10752K, 0% used [0x5a1f0000,0x5a1f0000,0x5ac70000) PSOldGen total 460416K, used 308422K [0x23810000, 0x3f9b0000, 0x55490000) object space 460416K, 66% used [0x23810000,0x36541bb8,0x3f9b0000) PSPermGen total 107520K, used 106079K [0x03810000, 0x0a110000, 0x23810000) object space 107520K, 98% used [0x03810000,0x09fa7e40,0x0a110000) From it, I gather that its the PSPermGen that is full (most logs will show the same before a crash), which is why we increased MaxPermSize but the total still show as 107520K!??! No one here is a jRun expert, so any help or even ideas on what to try next would be greatly appreciated!!   • Problems with retrieving the correct cookie in Java

    When I retrieve the cookies in my java servlet, all of the values from getPath() are null. So if a cookie with the same name is set in directory /foo, and at the root directory, I retrieve two cookies with the same exact name, but I can't differentiate them because getPath() returns null for both. I looked in firebug and saw that firefox was not sending anythign for the path. My application uses a "rememberme" cookie with the path set to "/". Everything works fine as long as there is only one cookie with name rememberme. But if somehow another cookie gets set with the same name on a different path like /foo, then my application won't know which one is the one I set for the root. How can I differentiate the cookies? Do I need to worry about a cookie existing with the same name in a subdir, or can I just assume there will be only the one I set?

  • Can't connect to HTTPS using X509 client certificate

    Hi - I'm new to cryptography and I'm a bit stuck: I'm trying to connect (from my development environment) to a web service using HTTPS. The web service requires a client certificate - which I think I've installed correctly. They have supplied me with a .PFX file. In Windows 7, I double clicked the file to install it into my Current User - Personal certificate store. I then exported a X509 Base-64 encoded .cer file from the certificate entry in the store. It didn't have a private key associate with it. Then, in my app, I'm attempting to connect to the service like this: var certificate = X509Certificate.CreateFromCertFile("xyz.cer")); var serviceUrl = "https://xyz"; var request = (HttpWebRequest) WebRequest.Create(serviceUrl); request.ClientCertificates.Add(certificate); request.Method = WebRequestMethods.Http.Post; request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; I get a 502 Connection failed when I connect. Is there anything you can see wrong with this method? Our production environment seems to work with a similar configuration, but it's running Windows Server 2003. Thanks!

  • Can't select View Content dropdown when adding view in MVC using Interfaces

    I have my Model defined externally in two projects - a Core project and an Interface project. I am opening the Add View dialogue from my controller, and selecting Create a strongly typed view. In the drop down list, I can select the concrete types like MyProject.Model.Core.OrderDetails, but the interface types like MyProject.Model.Interface.IOrderDetails aren't there. I can type the interface class in manually and everything works, but then the View content menu that lets you select the Create, Delete, List, etc scaffolding is disabled. Is there some problem with using interfaces in MVC? Or is it something else I'm missing?
