    This question already has an answer here: What do green folders mean in Windows 7 Explorer? 2 answers I downloaded a .zip file the other day and extracted it using 7zip from my desktop to my laptop over my home network, when it finished, its filename and the filename of its contents was green. What does this mean, can i revert it to normal, has anything been modified and is there a list somewhere of color codes for windows file names.. ? (I can recall seeing blue somewhere before).

  • How can I migrate all keyboard shortcuts from one mac to another?

    I have a lot of custom keyboard shortcuts and will be migration Macs. I tested Migration Assistant and it did not seem to get these. I read somewhere that they are stored in the individual application's plist files in the ~/Library/Application Support folder but even after copying a few of these folders over the shortcuts do not seem to follow. How can I get all of the keyboard shortcuts migrated to a new mac?

  • Make thunderbird store all mail locally for IMAP accounts but not indexing all for search

    In Thunderbird the global gloda search is connected to the selection of downloaded/syncronized folders of the IMAP accounts in the Offline-settings. Is it possible somehow, that Thunderbirds download/syncs all emails in the IMAP account but does not add them to the index for the global search? I would like to do this because I have some accounts that I only keep in thunderbird for archiving reasons but I don't want to find those mails, when I use the global search

    What I want to do is have a batch file search folders, and subfolders, for matching file names that are ending in .mp3 and .wma and delete or move the *.wma duplicates. Below you'll find what I have come up with until now, I know it is wrong for at least two reasons. I have searched the internet, and tried a number of things, but now I am stuck.     Hi, I'm looking for a solution that'll automatically sync file system changes in "/folder1" to "/folder2". Any change should be synced (deleted files, new folders etc.) without any confirmation. Preferably the changes will happen to "/folder2" instantly. "/folder1" is on my hdd "/folder2" is on a server on the LAN (can be accessed via SSH or NFS) I'm on OS X 10.6. I can't seem to find just the right tool. Does anyone

  • Translation of default folder names in Windows

    Windows (all versions) folders have their standard names such as Users, Documents, Local Settings etc that are unfortunately translated in other language versions, and thus instead of the names that are in the path to the folder they appear in the file explorer under quite different names. For example, instead Pictures I get "Moje obrazy" (translation into Polish language), and yet in the path it is still "pictures". This is very confusing and I would like to turn this automatic translation off, but can't find how.

    Hi, on Mac, you know there is no 'merge files' when you ctrl+c/ctrl+v some folder on another one, it actually replaces it. I'm simply wondering on what UNIX is this based? because correct me if I'm wrong, but "cp - R" DOES merge files, no? And that's what I'm doing via the Finder, copying some files and folders... thanks!

    I am trying to write a bash script that will rsync only a specific subset of folders. I am trying to figure out a more slick so that I can just add a variables such as FOLDER1='name of folder in home directory' and then rsync -arvz --delete /home/emka/$FOLDER1/ /home/emka/Desktop/Mount/$FOLDER1 Currently I have FOLDER1 through FOLDER13, but I do not want to have the above line thirteen times.     I'm going to move my Winamp library from its current location (in various folders inside My Documents) to My Music, but I can't just drag and drop them, as there's thousands of files within My Documents that I don't want moved. I can get the path of every single music file from Winamp, but I don't know any way to move them all. I'd like some way to maintain their current folder arrangement, and not just dump all the files in a single folder, unorganised.

  • Using cd to go up multiple directory levels

    I'm dealing with java projects which often result in deeply nested folders (/path/to/project/com/java/lang/whatever, etc) and sometimes want to be able to jump, say, 4 directory levels upwards. Typing cd ../../../.. is a pain, and I don't want to symlink. Is there some flag to cd that lets you go up multiple directory levels (in my head, it would be something like cd -u 4)? Unfortunately I can't find any man page for cd specifically, instead just getting the useless "builtins" page.

I have configured all the search indexing settings, however search box in the start menu does not bring any result at all in the indexed folders. It says a few thousands of files are indexed but nothing appears in start menu search. Any ideas?

    Hi Folks I am trying to create an nHibernate mapping for a class structure like so: class UserDetails{ Guid id; User user; Role role; public User UserInfo{ get;set; } public Role UserRoles{ get;set; } public Guid ID{ Get; set; } } class User{ string name; int id; public string Name{ get;set; } public int ID{ get;set; } } class Role{ string roleName; string roleDesc; int roleId; public string RoleName{ get;set; } public string RoleDesc{ get;set; } public int RoleID{ get;set; } } The underlying DB structure is similar to the tables, but there is a linking table which links user and role using their respective IDs: UserRoleLinkTable[ identity User_Role_ID (pk) userID (FK to User table) roleid (FK to Role table) ] After playing about with nHibernate this is similar to what I want to try and achieve (but it doesnt work!): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2" assembly="Admin" namespace="Admin" > <class name="UserDetails" lazy="false" table="USER"> <id name="ID"> <generator class="guid"></generator> </id> <one-to-one name="UserInfo" class="User" lazy="false" cascade="none"/> <bag name="UserRoles" inverse="false" table="Role" lazy="false" cascade="none" > <key column="Role" /> <many-to-many class="Role" column="ROLE_ID" /> </bag> </class> </hibernate-mapping> I have mappings\entities which appear to work for Role and User (used in other aspects of the project) objects but how do I pull this information into one UserDetails class? The point of the user details to be able to return all this information together as one object. Is it possible to create (for want of a better description) a container using an nHibernate mapping and map the data that way?   • Force sharepoint to ask for authentication

    Is there a way to force sharepoint 2010 to popup the dialog to ask the user for a username and password and not use the computers logged in user, if that user doesn't have access. We need an internal sharepoint website to not use the windows credentials, since these are computers used by many people. The windows user doesn't have access to the site, so currently it shows an access denied, click here to log in as another user. We would prefer if it just asked for credentials in a more graceful manner.

    Hi, so..I followed doctrine documnetation to get started. Here is the documentation http://www.doctrine-project.org/documentation/manual/1_2/en/working-with-models#dealing-with-relations:retrieving-related-records My code is $User = Doctrine_Core::getTable("User")->find(1); when I access relations by $User-Phonenumbers, it works. When I convert User object to array by using toArray() method, it does not convert relations to array. It simply display $User data. Am i missing something?
