    Hi, Currently within an activity in my application I can call another activity and pass a variable to it in the following manner: Intent myIntent = new Intent(parentView.getContext(), ShowStations.class); myIntent.putExtra("stationName", stations[position].StationName); startActivity(myIntent); This works fine, but now I want to be able to do the same from my Widget. Currently this code works fine for launching a specific activity from my widget: Intent WidgetIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MAIN).addCategory(Intent.CATEGORY_LAUNCHER).setComponent(new ComponentName("grell.com", "grell.com.FavStations")); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, WidgetIntent, 0); updateViews.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.widget_main, pendingIntent); So now I am wondering how can I launch the same activity as shown in the first example but also pass through the 'stationName' variable.     Hi everyone, I know there are lots of these types of questions, but i didn't see one that was similar enough to my criteria. So i'd like to ask for your help please. The fields i have are just start and end which are of time types. I cannot involve any specific dates in this. If the time ranges don't go pass midnight across day, i'd just compare two tuples as such: end1 > start2 AND start1 < end2 (end points touching are not considered overlapped here.) But when I involve time range that pass (or at) midnight, this obviously doesn't work. For example, given: start | end --------+-------- 06:00PM | 01:00AM 03:00PM | 09:00PM Without involving dates, how can i achieve this, please. My assumption is, if end is less than start, then we're involving 2 days. I'm trying to do this in plain standard SQL, so just a simple and concise logic in the WHERE clause. Thank you everyone!

  • Corona SDK - Make a character pass through a platform

    I'm building a game that has a character which should jump up on multiple platforms. The jumping functionality is done, but I would like if the character is just below a platform (static body), when I press the "jump" button, the character should pass through that platform and then sit on it. Right now it collides with the platform, and character cannot jump on it. Do you have any idea how this can be achieved? Right now the platforms are represented by rectangles with "static" body type: local platform = display.newRect( 50, 280, 150, 10 ) platform:setFillColor ( 55, 55, 55) physics.addBody ( platform, "static", {density=1.0, friction=1.0, bounce=0 }) And I was thinking if I could change, or remove the body type of platform when the character collids with it, so he can pass trough platform, but I don't know how to do this, or in general if this will work... maybe there are some built in techniques on how to achieve the effect I want?

    I'm using SQL Server Reporting Services and the report designer that comes with Visual Studio. I've got a really big report. It's actually so large that Visual Studio hangs (sometimes for hours at a time) or just crashes when I make changes. There is preciously little I can do to solve the problem, so I've decided to just move the bottom half of the report into a sub-report. So, I started with one enormous, unresponsive report and ended with two small, manageable reports -- surprisingly, this actually works. One problem: my subreport uses the same data as my main report. Right now, it populates its dataset by re-querying the database. The extra round-trip to the database causes the report to take twice as long to generate; up from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to generate. I'd like to avoid hitting the database again, and instead use the same dataset in both reports. How can I share or pass a dataset between a report and subreport?

  • Should you charge clients hours spent on the wrong track?

    I took up a small CSS challenge to solve for a client and I'm going to be paid on a hourly rate. I eventually solved it, it took 4 hours but I spent roughly 30% of the time in the wrong track, trying a CSS3 solution that only worked in recent browsers and finally discovering that no fallback is possible via JS (like I originally thought). Should I charge the client that 30%? More details: I didn't provide an estimate, I liked the challenge per se, so I started working on it before giving an estimate (but I have worked with him before, so I know he's not one of those people that have unrealistic expectations). At the very worst I will have spent 4 unpaid hours on an intriguing CSS challenge. And I will give the fairest possible estimate for both of us, since I will have already done the work. :)

  • What exercises counter the back pain of sitting at a computer for 15 hours a day? [on hold]

    I work up to 15 hours a day (not everyday :)) programming. When I do this I get a very sore lower back. I don't want to spend $1000 on a special chair like Joel Spolsky says. I'm sure I'm not alone here. Has anybody encountered this and found an exercise/other method to combat it? Maybe somebody with more physical education than me about opposing muscle groups or something. PS (not working fifteen hours a day isn't an answer, it's how I work best) and it's not off topic as programming is about more than code - it's a verb.

I've tried package { 'unsigned-package': ensure => latest, install_options => ['--nogpgcheck'], } and package { 'unsigned-package': ensure => latest, install_options => ['nogpgcheck'], } but looking at the output from an agent run, yum isn't getting that option. As an aside (and maybe the reason it's not working for me), how do I verify my puppet has the install_options feature? I'm running puppet 3.3.0-rc2.

    I have a apache server that I'm trying to use for proxy access my activeMQ admin page. I am able to load the inital landing page properly, but I can't seem to load any of the sub-pages (Queues, Connections, etc.). My proxypass rules on the apache server are the following: ProxyPass /foo http://10.5.124.108:8161/admin ProxyPassReverse /foo http://10.5.124.108:8161/admin The activeMQ installation included a activemq-httpd.conf file in /etc/httpd/conf.d/. Proxy connections there are enabled: ProxyRequests On ProxyVia On <Proxy *> Allow from all Order allow,deny </Proxy> ProxyPass /admin http://localhost:8161/admin ProxyPassReverse /admin http://localhost:8161/admin ProxyPass /message http://localhost:8161/admin/send ProxyPassReverse /message http://localhost:8161/admin/send From what I've read the proxypass rules should be recursive (the rule for /foo should also work for /foo/bar). Is there something else that I'm missing here that's preventing me from accessing pages beyond the initial admin landing page?

  • Modem doesn't seem to pass internet connection to router

    I was supplied a Cisco DPC3825 modem by my ISP and use a Cisco E4200 as my main router. Today the Internet just stopped working, just out of the blue, I can't think of anything that would have triggered it. It's been working pretty good for the past month except for a few random blips here and there. After some trouble shooting I realized that a direct wired connection to the modem would get me Internet access but if I was wired to the router as I was before I would have no connection. Assuming it was router I connected a TP-Link WR841N but it had the exact same problem. Also, connecting to the router via Wi-Fi from multiple devices will connect me to the router but I still can't get access to the Internet. From these test, it seems that the modem just won't send Internet through to the router but is clearly connecting and able to directly connect to my PC. What I've Tried A full reset and factory reset on the E4200 A full reset on the modem (but I believe my ISP has remote access to the modem because the passwords and so on are always set back). My ISP has remotely reconfigured the modem What I Should Try What else can I try? What should I do to try to narrow down the issue? Can you figure out what the problem might be based on this information?

    I have a small network set up like this: I have a Pfsense for connecting my servers to the WAN, they are using NAT from the LAN - WAN. I have an OpenVPN server using TAP to allow remote workers to be put on the same LAN network as the servers. They connect through the WAN IP to the OVPN interface.
