  • How to get a 64 bit dll with c source file, def file, link file by using command line in vc 6.0

    - by allan
    Hi, all My compile environment is windows xp and vc 6.0. Now I have a c source file(msgRout.c), def file(msgRout.def), link file(msgRout.link), then I use commands below to get a 32 bit dll: 1.cl /I ../include -c -W3 -Gs- -Z7 -Od -nologo -LD -D_X86_=1 -DWIN32 -D_WIN32 -D_MT -D_DLL msgRout.c 2.lib -out:msgRout.lib -def:msgRout.def -machine:i386 3.link /LIBPATH:../../Lib -nod -nologo -debug:full -dll @msgRout.link -out:msgRout.dll But the dll I got cannot be loaded on X64 application. it required a 64 bit dll. So here is my question: Can I get a 64 bit dll with vc 6.0? Using only above 3 commands alike, how can I get 64 bit dll? Many GREAT THANKS!!! Allan

  • C# Gui setting control.Enabled to false fires OnClick event???

    - by Daniel
    For some really weird reason when i set the .Enabled property to false on a simple text box on a small GUI, it fires a radio buttons OnClick event and its causing lots of problems. I have breakpointed the txtBox.Enabled = false; and after stepping over OR into it i jump straight to the OnClick event of the radio button control Here is the call stack as that happened: TestGUI.exe!TestGUI.frmMain.radiobuttonClicked(object sender = {Text = "Download Single Episode" Checked = true}, System.EventArgs e = {System.EventArgs}) Line 67 C# System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(System.EventArgs e) + 0x70 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.RadioButton.OnClick(System.EventArgs e) + 0x27 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.RadioButton.OnEnter(System.EventArgs e = {System.EventArgs}) + 0x3e bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.NotifyEnter() + 0x20 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.UpdateFocusedControl() + 0x195 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.AssignActiveControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control value = {Text = "Download Single Episode" Checked = true}) + 0x54 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.ActivateControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control control, bool originator = false) + 0x76 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.SetActiveControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control value = {Text = "Download Single Episode" Checked = true}) + 0x73 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.SetActiveControl(System.Windows.Forms.Control ctl) + 0x33 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.ActiveControl.set(System.Windows.Forms.Control value) + 0x5 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.Select(bool directed, bool forward) + 0x1b bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextControl(System.Windows.Forms.Control ctl, bool forward, bool tabStopOnly, bool nested, bool wrap) + 0x7b bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control ctl, bool forward, bool tabStopOnly, bool nested, bool wrap) + 0x4a bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextIfFocused() + 0x61 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.Enabled.set(bool value) + 0x42 bytes What the hell? It wouldn't have anything to do with the way i subscribe to the events would it? this.radioBtnMultipleDownload.Click += radiobuttonClicked; this.radioBtnSingleDownload.Click += radiobuttonClicked; this.radioCustomUrl.Click += radiobuttonClicked;

  • calling delphi dll from c#

    - by Wouter Roux
    Hi, I have a Delphi dll defined like this: TMPData = record Lastname, Firstname: array[0..40] of char; Birthday: TDateTime; Pid: array[0..16] of char; Title: array[0..20] of char; Female: Boolean; Street: array[0..40] of char; ZipCode: array[0..10] of char; City: array[0..40] of char; Phone, Fax, Department, Company: array[0..20] of char; Pn: array[0..40] of char; In: array[0..16] of char; Hi: array[0..8] of char; Account: array[0..20] of char; Valid, Status: array[0..10] of char; Country, NameAffix: array[0..20] of char; W, H: single; Bp: array[0..10] of char; SocialSecurityNumber: array[0..9] of char; State: array[0..2] of char; end; function Init(const tmpData: TMPData; var ErrorCode: integer; ResetFatalError: boolean = false): boolean; procedure GetData(out tmpData: TMPData); My current c# signatures looks like this: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)] public struct TMPData { [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 40)] public string Lastname; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 40)] public string Firstname; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.R8)] public double Birthday; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 16)] public string Pid; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Title; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] public bool Female; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 40)] public string Street; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 10)] public string ZipCode; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 40)] public string City; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Phone; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Fax; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Department; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Company; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 40)] public string Pn; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 16)] public string In; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 8)] public string Hi; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Account; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 10)] public string Valid; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 10)] public string Status; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string Country; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 20)] public string NameAffix; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.I4)] public int W; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.I4)] public int H; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 10)] public string Bp; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 9)] public string SocialSecurityNumber; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 2)] public string State; } [DllImport("MyDll.dll")] [return: MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] public static extern bool Init(TMPData tmpData, int ErrorCode, bool ResetFatalError); [DllImport("MyDll.dll")] [return: MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] public static extern bool GetData(out TMPData tmpData); I first call Init setting the BirthDay, LastName and FirstName. I then call GetData but the TMPData structure I get back is incorrect. The FirstName, LastName and Birthday fields are populated but the data is incorrect. Is the mapping correct? ( "array[0..40] of char" equal to "[MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStr, SizeConst = 40)]" )?

  • Linking to MSVC DLL from MinGW

    - by IndigoFire
    I'm trying to link the LizardTech GeoExpress DSDK into my own application. I use gcc so that we can compile on for platforms. On Linux and Mac this works easily: they provide a static library (libltidsdk.a) and headers and all that we have to do is use them. Compiling for windows isn't so easy. They've built the library using Microsoft Visual Studio, and we use MinGW. I've read the MinGW FAQ, and I'm running into the problems below. The library is all C++, so my first question: is this even possible? Just linking against the dll as provided yields "undefined reference" errors for all of the C++ calls (constructors, desctructors, methods, etc). Based on the MinGW Wiki: http://www.mingw.org/wiki/MSVC%5Fand%5FMinGW%5FDLLs I should be able to use the utility reimp to convert a .lib into something useable. I've tried all of the .lib files provided by LizardTech, and they all give "invalid or corrupt import library". I've tried both version 0.4 and 0.3 of the reimp utility. Using the second method described in the wiki, I've run pexport and dlltool over the dll to get a .a archive, but that produces the same undefined references. BTW: I have read the discussion below. It left some ambiguity as to whether this is possible, and given the MinGW Wiki page it seems like this should be doable. If it is impossible, that's all I need to know. If it can be done, I'd like to know how I can get this to happen. stackoverflow.com/questions/1796209/how-to-link-to-vs2008-generated-libs-from-g Thanks!

  • Errors with shotgun gem and msvcrt-ruby18.dll when running my Sinatra app

    - by Adam Siddhi
    Greetings, Every time I make a change to a Sinatra app I'm working on and try to refresh the browser (located at http://localhost:4567/) the browser will refresh and, the console window seems to restart the WEB brick server. The problem is that the content in the browser window does not change. A friend of mine told me it was a shotgun issue and referred me to rtomayko's shotgun gem: http://github.com/rtomayko/shotgun On this page I read that the shotgun gem would basically solve my problem, allowing the changes made to my app to show up in the browser window after I refresh it. So I installed the shotgun gem. The installation was successful. To activate the shotgun function you have to type shotgun before the file name. In this case my Sinatra app's file name is shortener.rb When I type shotgun shortener.rb to run my Sinatra app I get this error: C:\ruby\sinatrashotgun shortener.rb c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:137:in `': No such f ile or directory - uname (Errno::ENOENT) from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:137:in block in ' from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:136:in each' from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:136:in find' from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:136:in <top (required)>' from c:/Ruby19/bin/shotgun:19:inload' from c:/Ruby19/bin/shotgun:19:in `' I should also mention that before testing the shotgun method out to see if it worked, I installed the mongrel (I realize I should have checked to see if shotgun worked before doing this as installing mongrel has complicated this problem). So on top of getting the error message above I also get a pop up window from Ruby.exe saying: Ruby.exe - Unable to load component This application has failed to start because msvcrt-ruby18.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I have no idea what msvcrt-ruby18.dll is but I know that installing either shotgun and/or mongrel created this problem. Where to go from here? Thanks, Adam

  • Decompiling a *.DLL to assembly for .net in delphi 4

    - by Lex Dean
    I love my Delphi 4 but at the same time I see the need to talk to windows .net This is a recompiled dll that I found on sourceforge.net/projects/delphinet/ (DelphiNet03.zip) by some nice people that fund the dll from some were. The real answer is to make this dll so that fits into Delphi as true Delphi code, and not a dll clip on. So we can make objects that use dot net in Delphi. Because I’m not an assembly freak, I’m freaking out a little with a wee sweek for help! 1/ How do I link the asm code with the data info at the bottom of this code. Can some one show me which calls to look for to make this link to data. 2/ I need to find the beginning of all the procedures and functions, but I cannot find a ‘RET’ statement. And what line is the beginning statement in this code. 3/ How do I identify were the jump statements go to, put them into Delphi format In this code it looks I can do:- jle 402890h \1000:00402854 7e3a add [eax], al \1000:00402856 0000 …………………………………………….. or ch, [edi+3eh] \1000:0040288d 0a6f3e xrefs first: 1000:00402854 number : 1 \; add [eax], al \1000:00402890 0000 //******************************* jle @@21 \\1000:00402854 7e3a add [eax], al \\1000:00402856 0000 …………………………………………….. or ch, [edi+3eh] \1000:0040288d 0a6f3e xrefs first: 1000:00402854 number : 1 \; @@21 add [eax], al \1000:00402890 0000 Is that a correct conversion. I think a xrefs first: 1000:004021d1 number : 1 is the best to follow 4/ I need a good reference on 8086 up assembly code that I can print out and get to learn properly. I found this asm decomplier of http://www.cronos.cc/ that is so similar to Delphi that it only needs a little more convertion to get it into Delphi asm I think. • C# Interop with dll

    - by Jim Jones
    Using VS2008 C# am attempting to interop a C++ dll. Have a C++ class constructor: make_summarizer(const char* rdir, const char* lic, const char* key); Need to retain a reference to the object that is created so I can use it in a follow-on function. When I did this in JNI the c code was: declare a static pointer to the object: static summarizer* summrzr; Then in one of the functions I called this constructor as follows: summrzr = make_summarizer(crdir, clic, ckey); Where the parameters all where the requisite const char* type; So in C# using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using System.Configuration; namespace SummarizerApp { class SummApp { private IntPtr summarzr; public SummApp() { string resource_dir = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["resource_dir"]; string license = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["license"]; string key = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["key"]; createSummarizer(resource_dir, license, key); } [System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImportAttribute("lib\\summarizer37.dll", EntryPoint = "#1")] public static extern IntPtr make_summarizer( [InAttribute()][MarshalAsAttribute(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string rdir, [InAttribute()][MarshalAsAttribute(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string lic, [InAttribute()][MarshalAsAttribute(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string key); public void createSummarizer(string resource_dir, string license, string key) { try { this.summarzr = make_summarizer(resource_dir, license, key); } catch (AccessViolationException e) { Console.WriteLine(e.Message); Console.WriteLine(e.StackTrace); } } Have also tried using IntPtr created using Marshal.StringToHGlobalAnsi(string). Regardless I get a AccessViolationException on the line where I call the native constructor; So what am I doing wrong? Jim

  • ASP.NET Projects with Two Versions of AjaxControlToolkit

    - by Chris
    In my Solution I have three projects. Project A is a web app and uses version 1.0.10618.0 of the AjaxControlToolkit. I would love to upgrade it to the latest but unfortunately any newer release completely breaks a portion of my site. Project B is also a web app but is a completely new software product and so it uses (and relies on) the latest version of the AjaxControlToolkit. Everything works great. Thought A and B are totally different products they use the same DB and rely on the same ClassLibrary. Project C is a small web app that ties A and B together with certain functionality like forgot password pages. The pages in this app reside in a virtual directory of both A and B. Project C currently uses v1.0.10618.0 of the toolkit so it works with Project A but it fails with project B because the manifest definitions of the dlls don't match (to be expected). What I've done is built a new dll of the toolkit and changed the assembly and namespace to AjaxControlToolkit_v1 and then changed all v1 references to this new dll so the old version and new versions can sit side by side in the same bin folder and nobody complains. I then changed my web.config controls tag to look like this: <add tagPrefix="ajaxToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit_v1" assembly="AjaxControlToolkit_v1, Version=1.0.10618.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e"/> This all works except I get a runtime error of: Unknown server tag 'ajaxToolkit:AnimationExtender'. I can't figure out why this is, any ideas on how to remedy it?

  • Use auto_ptr in VC6 dll cause crash

  • Creating a single CRM plugin DLL to store in the CRM database

    - by Shaamaan
    Since the suggested way of storing plugins in MS CRM is via the CRM database, I figured it's about time to do something about the method I'm currently using, which is storing the DLLs on the disk. The trouble however is that I don't know how to embed all the other various bits that are needed by the DLL: the localization resource files (which are kept in another folder) and some referenced DLLs from the latest SDK (which had to be manually placed in the bin\assembly folder). At this point, I'm not even entirely sure this is possible. So far I've tried to solve the localization problem by changing the build action on the resource files to "Content" or "Resource" and tested this solution (still keeping the location on-disk, but without the added localization folder). This didn't work: when I purposely generated a validation error in one of the plugins, I got the default language message (English) despite having a different language selected in the CRM. I've faced a similar problem when trying to add some of the referenced DLL files (namely the new SDK DLLs: xrm.portal, xrm.portal.files and xrm.client). When I tried to store the plugin in the database (skipping for a moment the localization issue), I got a CRM error saying it cannot find the XRM.Client assembly or one of it's dependencies. I know I could use ILMerge to put the whole thing together, but I've got a gut feeling telling me this isn't really a good idea. Any hints or suggestions on this issue would be great.

  • Switch/case without break inside DllMain

    - by Sherwood Hu
    I have a Dllmain that allocates Thread local storage when a thread attaches to this DLL. Code as below: BOOL APIENTRY DllMain(HMODULE hModule, DWORD ul_reason_for_call, LPVOID lpReserved) { LPVOID lpvData; BOOL fIgnore; switch (ul_reason_for_call) { case DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH: onProcessAttachDLL(); // Allocate a TLS index. if ((dwTlsIndex = TlsAlloc()) == TLS_OUT_OF_INDEXES) return FALSE; // how can it jump to next case??? case DLL_THREAD_ATTACH: // Initialize the TLS index for this thread. lpvData = (LPVOID) LocalAlloc(LPTR, MAX_BUFFER_SIZE); if (lpvData != NULL) fIgnore = TlsSetValue(dwTlsIndex, lpvData); break; ... } I know that for the main thread, the DLL_THREAD_ATTACH is not entered, as per Microsoft Documentation. However, the above code worked. I am using VC2005. When I entered the debugger, I saw that after it entered DLL_THREAD_ATTACH case when ul_reason_for_call = 1! How can that happen? If I add `break' at the end of DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH block, the DLL failed to work. How can this happen?

  • Looks like COM object is created, but JScript fails to get a reference

    - by damix911
    I'm using the following code to create a COM component that I have developed and registered. var mycom = new ActiveXObject("Mirabilis.ComponentServices.1"); mycom.SetFirstNumber(5); mycom.SetSecondNumber(3); The first line runs fine, while if I alter the ProgID (that is, the string passed to ActiveXObject) I get the message Automation server can't create object. This suggests that at least the basics of the registration mechanism are working properly. I integrated some logging calls into the DLL. When I run the script I get the proof into the log file that both this call to QueryInterface: STDAPI DllGetClassObject( const CLSID &clsid, const IID &iid, void **ppv) { ... CAddFactory *pAddFact = new CAddFactory; ... HRESULT hr = pAddFact->QueryInterface(iid, ppv); if (hr == S_OK) writeToLogFile("Class QueryInterface returned S_OK"); else writeToLogFile("Class QueryInterface failed"); return hr; ... } and this one: HRESULT __stdcall CAddFactory::CreateInstance( IUnknown *pUnknownOuter, const IID &iid, void **ppv) { ... CAddObj *pObject = new CAddObj; ... HRESULT hr = pObject->QueryInterface(iid, ppv); if (hr == S_OK) writeToLogFile("Object QueryInterface returned S_OK"); else writeToLogFile("Object QueryInterface failed"); return hr; ... } return S_OK. However, when JScript gets to line 3 of the script, I get the following error message: 'mycom' is null or not an object Why is this happening? It looks like JScript should be able to obtain a reference. Some attempts I made I tried to return S_FALSE from DllCanUnloadNow to be sure that the DLL will not be unloaded, just in case, but with no luck.

  • dll's loaded through reflection

    - by Seattle Leonard
    Ok, I got a strange one here and I want to know if any of you have ever run accross anything like it. So I've got this web app that loads up a bunch of dll's through reflection. Basically it looks for Types that are derived from certain abstract types and adds them to the list of things it can make. Here's the weird part. While developing there is never a problem. When installing it, there is never a problem to start with. Then, at a seemingly random time, the application breaks while trying to find all the types. I've had 2 sites sitting side by side and one worked while the other did not, and they were configured exactly(and I mean exactly) the same. IISRESET's never helped, but this did: I simply moved all the dll's out of the bin directory then moved them back. That's right I just moved them out of the bin directory then put them right back where they came from and everything worked fine. Any ideas?

  • How does PATH environment affect my running executable from using msvcr90 to msvcr80 ???

    - by Runner
    #include <gtk/gtk.h> int main( int argc, char *argv[] ) { GtkWidget *window; gtk_init (&argc, &argv); window = gtk_window_new (GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL); gtk_widget_show (window); gtk_main (); return 0; } I tried putting various versions of MSVCR80.dll under the same directory as the generated executable(via cmake),but none matched. Is there a general solution for this kinda problem? UPDATE Some answers recommend install the VS redist,but I'm not sure whether or not it will affect my installed Visual Studio 9, can someone confirm? Manifest file of the executable <assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"> <trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3"> <security> <requestedPrivileges> <requestedExecutionLevel level="asInvoker" uiAccess="false"></requestedExecutionLevel> </requestedPrivileges> </security> </trustInfo> <dependency> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC90.DebugCRT" version="9.0.21022.8" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity> </dependentAssembly> </dependency> </assembly> It seems the manifest file says it should use the MSVCR90, why it always reporting missing MSVCR80.dll? FOUND After spending several hours on it,finally I found it's caused by this setting in PATH: D:\MATLAB\R2007b\bin\win32 After removing it all works fine.But why can that setting affect my running executable from using msvcr90 to msvcr80 ???

  • PowerPoint PlugIn does not read defaults from .dll.config file

    - by Nick T
    I'm working on a very simple PowerPoint plugin, and I'm quite a bit stumped. In my settings.settings file, I have configured a setting "StartPath", which references where the PowerPoint plugin will navigate to using a Browser component. After I compile the application, and run the installer generated by the Setup project, the application is installed and uses the default value in the settings file. However, if I edit the application.dll.config file, the plugin still uses the old values. How can I set things up such that the plugin references the .dll.config file and not its default settings? The code to access the settings is listed below, including the other variants I have tried: //Attempt 1 string location = MyApplication.Properties.Settings.Default.StartPath; //Attempt 2 string location = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["StartPath"]; //Attempt 3: Configuration element is inaccessible due to its protection level string applicationName = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs()[0] + ".exe"; string exePath = System.IO.Path.Combine(Environment.CurrentDirectory, applicationName); Configuration config = ConfigurationManager.OpenExeConfiguration(exePath); string location = config.AppSettings["StartPath"];

  • Best way to implement plugin framework - are DLLs the only way (C/C++ project)?

    - by Microkernel
    Introduction: I am currently developing a document classifier software in C/C++ and I will be using Naive-Bayesian model for classification. But I wanted the users to use any algorithm that they want(or I want in the future), hence I went to separate the algorithm part in the architecture as a plugin that will be attached to the main app @ app start-up. Hence any user can write his own algorithm as a plugin and use it with my app. Problem Statement: The way I am intending to develop this is to have each of the algorithms that user wants to use to be made into a DLL file and put into a specific directory. And at the start, my app will search for all the DLLs in that directory and load them. My Questions: (1) What if a malicious code is made as a DLL (and that will have same functions mandated by plugin framework) and put into my plugins directory? In that case, my app will think that its a plugin and picks it and calls its functions, so the malicious code can easily bring down my entire app down (In the worst case could make my app as a malicious code launcher!!!). (2) Is using DLLs the only way available to implement plugin design pattern? (Not only for the fear of malicious plugin, but its a generic question out of curiosity :) ) (3) I think a lot of softwares are written with plugin model for extendability, if so, how do they defend against such attacks? (4) In general what do you think about my decision to use plugin model for extendability (do you think I should look at any other alternatives?) Thank you -MicroKernel :)

  • c++ to vb.net , problem with callback function

    - by johan
    I'm having a hard time here trying to find a solution for my problem. I'm trying to convert a client API funktion from C++ to VB.NET, and i think have some problems with the callback function. parts of the C++ code: typedef struct{ BYTE m_bRemoteChannel; BYTE m_bSendMode; BYTE m_nImgFormat; // =0 cif ; = 1 qcif char *m_sIPAddress; char *m_sUserName; char *m_sUserPassword; BOOL m_bUserCheck; HWND m_hShowVideo; }CLIENT_VIDEOINFO, *PCLIENT_VIDEOINFO; CPLAYER_API LONG __stdcall MP4_ClientStart(PCLIENT_VIDEOINFO pClientinfo,void(CALLBACK *ReadDataCallBack)(DWORD nPort,UCHAR *pPacketBuffer,DWORD nPacketSize)); void CALLBACK ReadDataCallBack(DWORD nPort,UCHAR *pPacketBuffer,DWORD nPacketSize) { TRACE("%d\n",nPacketSize); } ..... aa5.m_sUserName = "123"; aa5.m_sUserPassword="w"; aa5.m_bUserCheck = TRUE; MP4_ClientSetTTL(64); nn1 = MP4_ClientStart(&aa5,ReadDataCallBack); if (nn1 == -1) { MessageBox("error"); return; } SDK description: MP4_ClientStart This function starts a connection. The format of the call is: LONG __stdcall MP4_ClientStart(PCLIENT_VIDEOINFO pClientinfo, void(*ReadDataCallBack)(DWORD nChannel,UCHAR *pPacketBuffer,DWORD nPacketSize)) Parameters pClientinfo holds the information. of this connection. nChannel holds the channel of card. pPacketBuffer holds the pointer to the receive buffer. nPacketSize holds the length of the receive buffer. Return Values If the function succeeds the return value is the context of this connection. If the function fails the return value is -1. Remarks typedef struct{ BYTE m_bRemoteChannel; BYTE m_bSendMode; BYTE m_bImgFormat; char *m_sIPAddress; char *m_sUserName; char *m_sUserPassword; BOOL m_bUserCheck; HWND m_hShowVideo; } CLIENT_VIDEOINFO, * PCLIENT_VIDEOINFO; m_bRemoteChannel holds the channel which the client wants to connect to. m_bSendMode holds the network mode of the connection. m_bImgFormat : Image format, 0 is main channel video, 1 is sub channel video m_sIPAddress holds the IP address of the server. m_sUserName holds the user’s name. m_sUserPassword holds the user’s password. m_bUserCheck holds the value whether sends the user’s name and password or not. m_hShowVideo holds Handle for this video window. If m_hShowVideo holds NULL, the client can be record only without decoder. If m_bUserCheck is FALSE, we will send m_sUserName and m_sUserPassword as NULL, else we will send each 50 bytes. The length of m_sIPAddress and m_sUserName must be more than 50 bytes. ReadDataCallBack: When the library receives a packet from a server, this callback is called. • Side-By-Side Configuration Error VC90.CRT

    - by Swiss
    I keep receiving the following error when trying to run MikTeX 2.8 or Visual Studio 2008 on 64-Bit Windows Vista. It's particularly odd because both programs were working problem free until a few days ago. The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail. Opening the Application log provides the following information: Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\MiKTeX 2.8\miktex\bin\texworks.exe". Error in manifest or policy file "C:\Program Files (x86)\MiKTeX 2.8\miktex\bin\Microsoft.VC90.CRT.MANIFEST" on line 4. Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component requested. Reference is Microsoft.VC90.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.30729.4148". Definition is Microsoft.VC90.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.30729.1". Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. It looks like the problem is with Microsoft.VC90.CRT.MANIFEST, but I am not sure why or how to fix this problem. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Visual Studio and MikTeX, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling Microsoft's C++ Redistributable, but nothing seems to be fixing this problem.

  • GAC locking problem when running deployment

    - by Kieran
    We have a NANT script that uses msbuild to compile our visual studio solutions and deploys the .dlls into the GAC. This works well on our integration/test servers as part of continuous integration, cruise control uses the NANT scripts and every time the dlls are put into the GAC without problem. On our local development machines, where we use subversion/vs.net etc. for development, frequently certain dlls do not make it to the GAC when we run the build. We think we have narrowed this down to visual studio and/or a plug in locking the GAC or the dlls for some reason. Strangely if we run the build a second time all the dlls make it to the GAC. We have added various iisreset's to the NANT script in the hope of releasing the lock but to no avail. Can anyone suggest a good approach to attack this problem? All the best

  • What are the correct set of DLLs and placement for SSL support in mIRC on 64 bit Windows?

    - by honkbish
    I am using mIRC 6.35 on a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit. No matter what versions of the OpenSSL DLLs I use, nor where I place them, I cannot get mIRC to work with SSL; I get the "ssl not supported" error. The recommended DLLs on mIRC's help page (/ssl.html on the mIRC site) do not work no matter if I put them in the mIRC Program Files folder or anywhere else. Same with the DLLs from http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html which also require Visual C++ runtimes. I am unsure if I need the 32bit DLLs (because mIRC itself is 32 bit), or the 64-bit DLLs, nor where to correctly place them. (Perhaps I currently have a case of incorrect DLLs in a path I am not aware of overriding the other placements...) Does ANYONE have any tips for 'debugging' this, or do they themselves have it working? Thanks in advance!
