    Is is possible to select a datetime field from a MySQL table and group by the date only? I'm trying to output a list of events that happen at multiple times, grouped by the date it happened on. My table/data looks like this: (the timestamp is a datetime field) 1. 2010-03-21 18:00:00 Event1 2. 2010-03-21 18:30:00 Event2 3. 2010-03-30 13:00:00 Event3 4. 2010-03-30 14:00:00 Event4 I want to output something like this: March 21st 1800 - Event 1 1830 - Event 2 March 30th 1300 - Event 3 1400 - Event 4 Thanks!

  • Accounting Style string format in ASP .NET

    I would like to know the easiest way to format a string as accounting style. I know how to format as currency using {0:c} but there are some differences in accounting style, for example, all the dollar signs will line up as well as all the decimal points, and negatives are expressed in parenthesis rather than with a "-" minus sign. You can find a good example of the way i would like it in excel if you format the cells as "accounting" with 2 decimal places. thanks in advance, russ

The problem is that the database server is configured with US date format. But the users need to use UK date format in the textbox. When users enter uk date format error is thrown. The database server configuration cannot be changed. So what can be done so that users can enter date in uk format?

  • hdd fail, allows format, allows copy

    Hello I have a problem with a Fujitsu laptop. Some kid played with it and now the hdd is a wreck. I can't install Windows XP, Windows 7 or Linux. I checked with hiren's boot for bad sector did a chdisk on it says I don't have any bad sectors, on smart says is active but status error. I tried format and it worked, I tried copying files using a live CD and it worked, but when I try to install the OS it says it can't format, or it can't copy files.

    Hello, I am using a ASP Calendar control to insert a datetime value into a field to be part of an insert to a SQL Server 2005 db table. I get the following error when i submit the form to server and try to insert into table: [ArgumentException: The version of SQL Server in use does not support datatype 'date'.] Seems like Calendar control returns a Date type value. How could i make the Calendar control return a Datetime value instead? I know now that SQL Server 2005 does not support Date type fields.

    I have difficulty open opening word and excel files suddenly. Only particular office file give me the problem. These files were previously scanned by combo fix and I believe they were damaged. The error response that I from office is Excel cannot open the file xxx.xlsx because the file format is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file. This is for excel and a similar kind of error response comes for word. The file looks fine. I mean the size vise... Please help me with this problem. I really appreciate your help and time....

  • Entity framework error: The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data

    I know there are a ton of posts about this issue but none of them seem to solve my problem. Here's the scenario: I have a CreateDate DateTime column in my MS SQL Server database User table that is non-nullable and is automatically set using GetDate() method in "Default Value or Binding" setting. I am able to create a User just fine with the standard EF Insert but when I try to update the user, I get this error: The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value. What is the trick to not having the EF worry about the CreateDate column for updates? I have the StoreGenerationPattern = Identity but that isn't helping.   • Converting date format in formulas in Excel

    I have a column of dates in the following format ddd mmm dd hh m:s "EST" yyyy. In another cell in another sheet, I wish to have the dates in the format dd/m/y. How can I do this? I already tried the DATEVALUE function. Seeing as the positions are fixed, I started using the RIGHT and MID functions to extract components to put into the DATE function. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way of converting the three letter string to a month without writing a huge if block. UPDATE: I managed to convert the string using MONTH(1&THREE_LETTER_DATE). I am still curious if there is a better solution though

  • .NET - A way to add my own clipboard format to existing formats

    I have a Excel addin that displays some structures on the worksheet. Users can copy the structures and paste them in another worksheet or another application which is handled by the Clipboard formats. When a user copies the structure, I convert the structure into a specific format and put it on the clipboard using the DataObject::SetData(). Please note that when a copy is initiated in Excel, it puts a number of formats on the clipboard (see image). The problem is that there is a third party application that depends on the data on the clipboard(Copy from Excel and paste into this 3rd party app) but the funny thing is that I am not sure which format it depends on. I need to preserve the existing formats that Excel has put up there and also add my own format to it. Currently when I use the Clipboard class in .NET (taking the DataObject and calling SetData inside it), all the other formats are replaced by new ones. I then tried to create a new DataObject, copy the existing format data to this data object and then set this data object in the Clipboard.     I'm preparing a book to be published and keeping everything in .docx files. Other than text the files include graphs (jpeg) and lots of equations typed in MathType. Since MS Word is not fully appropriate to balance text and shapes according to book format, some pages are having spacings at the bottom after some text, and then comes a shape on the next page. I know that LaTeX is very good at formatting, so is it possible to convert MS Word documents (or PDF documents, since I can easily convert them to PDF) into LaTeX format so that I can handle my work in LaTeX from now on?

  • Format Factory not working for mov files

    I have attempted multiple destination formats with no success. I am using Format Factor 2.30. I drag and drop a .mov file into FF, select all to mpg (or any format) then click Start. It thinks for a couple seconds and then jumps to 100%. When I open the file I get no sound or picture from the video. These mov files were created with a Canon SX10 camera. (It is my brother's camera so I'm not sure of the model.) Any suggestions? TMPGEnc is able to convert the files with the QTReader plug in so the video isn't corrupted or something. Thanks. Jeff

    Querying my domain I get: The TXT records found for your domain are: v=spf1 ip4:50.22.72.198 a mx:wordswithfriends.net ~all So superficially it appears OK. However I also get the following message SPF records should also be published in DNS as type SPF records. No type SPF records found. I want to make sure things are absolutely airtight. So in addition to TXT records I also want a pure SPF record. However I cannot figure out the format. Placing the same text in an SPF record does not seem to work. Edit: At the moment I have a TXT record but not SPF record. When I cut and paste from TXT straight to SPF I get some type of crazy recursive DNS error so quickly deleted the SPF. I just want to know the correct format. Copying v=spf1 ip4:50.22.72.198 a mx:wordswithfriends.net ~all Straight into an SPF record doesn't work.

I have this piece of code: $sunset = date_sunset(mktime(0, 0, 0, 5, 14, 2010), $format, // Format 55.596041, // Latitude 12.992495, // Longitude 90, // Zenith 2 // GMT Offset ); For the three different formats, that would give me: SUNFUNCS_RET_STRING 21:05 SUNFUNCS_RET_DOUBLE 21.095732016315 SUNFUNCS_RET_TIMESTAMP 1273863944 // H:i:s O -> 19:05:44 +0000 Why is the timestamp format ignoring the gmt offset? Is is supposed to be like that? If so what is the reason behind that?

I have noticed than when using the system from within IE (all versions) ASP.NET MVC will fail to bind the datetime to the action that send back the correct events. The sequence of events goes as follows. Calendar posts to server to get events Server ActionMethod accepts start and end date, automatically bound to datetime objects In every browser other than IE the start and end date come through as: Mon, 10 Jan 2011 00:00:00 GMT When IE posts the date, it comes through as Mon, 10 Jan 2011 00:00:00 UTC ASP.NET MVC 2 will then fail to automatically bind this to the action method parameter. Is there a reason why this is happening?   • Why doesn't Windows 7 allow me to format?

    Dell support can be fun to deal with right? Ultimately, I have been going back and forth with Dell on an issue and came to reinstalling Windows 7 32-Bit Pro. The problem is that Windows Setup will not let me format. I've read other posts that say Windows 7 must installed on first partition here. But now that confuses me because the computer came shipped with the installation on the third partion as shown in the picture below? Is there a real problem? Or is this a Microsoftism? Should I obliterate the "OEM" partition to make this work? Please note that the format, delete, new, and extend options are grayed out.

  • Format date in String Template email

    I'm creating an email using String Template but when I print out a date, it prints out the full date (eg. Wed Apr 28 10:51:37 BST 2010). I'd like to print it out in the format dd/mm/yyyy but don't know how to format this in the .st file. I can't modify the date individually (using java's simpleDateFormatter) because I iterate over a collection of objects with dates. Is there a way to format the date in the .st email template?
