  • In subform of a MS Access form, how to hide/show the vertical scroll bars as needed?

    I have a subform in an MS Access form which is not hiding/showing the vertical scroll bars as needed. In the example picture, the vertical scroll bar is showing even though there aren't enough records to warrant vertical scrolling. How do I get the scroll bars to show only when they are needed? Do I need to add an if-then condition to the on_load event? or is there an easier option?

    I have a tree of categories and courses in my SEAM application. Courses may be active and inactive. I want to be able to show only active or all courses in my tree. I've decided to always build complete tree in my PAGE scope component since building this tree is quite expensive operation. I have boolean flag courseActive in the data wrapped by TreeNode<T>. Now I can't find the way to show courses node only if this flag is true.     I'm not even sure what this principle is called or how to search for it, so I sincerely apologize if it has been brought up before, but the best way to do it is with an example. class Properties { public string Name { get; set; } } class MyClass { class SubProperties: Properties { public override Name { get { return GetActualName(); } set { _value = SetActualName(value); } } } public SubProperties ClassProperties; private GetActualName() { ClassProperties.Name = "name"; } private SetActualName(string s) { ClassProperties.Name = SomeOtherFunction(s); } } The idea is to have any object that instantiates MyClass have a fully accessible property ClassProperties. To that object, it would look exactly like a Properties object, but behind the scenes, MyClass is actually computing and modifying the results of the fields. This method of declaration is obviously wrong since I can't access GetActualName() and SetActualName() from within the SubProperties definition. How would I achieve something like this?

    Hey all, After the unfortunate realization that Firefox is just not going to play nice with an embedded HTML5 video with my server set up, I've decided to go the JW Player route, since it's compatible with iPads and iPhones. I can get the file to show up on my page, but it's big and heavy. I would like for it to be just the video, no controls. Autoplay and on loop. Can you help me out?   • Symfony: How to hide form fields from display and then set values for them in the action class

    I am fairly new to symfony and I have 2 fields relating to my table "Pages"; created_by and updated_by. These are related to the users table (sfGuardUser) as foreign keys. I want these to be hidden from the edit/new forms so I have set up the generator.yml file to not display these fields: form: display: General: [name, template_id] Meta: [meta_title, meta_description, meta_keywords] Now I need to set the fields on the save. I have been searching for how to do this all day and tried a hundred methods. The method I have got working is this, in the actions class: protected function processForm(sfWebRequest $request, sfForm $form) { $form_params = $request->getParameter($form->getName()); $form_params['updated_by'] = $this->getUser()->getGuardUser()->getId(); if ($form->getObject()->isNew()) $form_params['created_by'] = $this->getUser()->getGuardUser()->getId(); $form->bind($form_params, $request->getFiles($form->getName())); So this works. But I get the feeling that ideally I shouldnt be modifying the web request, but instead modifying the form/object directly. However I havent had any success with things like: $form->getObject()->setUpdatedBy($this->getUser()->getGuardUser()); If anyone could offer any advice on the best ways about solving this type of problem I would be very grateful.   • Can I add metadata to git commits? Or can I hide some tags in gitk

    I want to associate custom metadata with a git commit. Specifically to record a review ID from a code review but it could be anything. Tags seem a natural way to do that but I expect to have a review for every commit and I don't want to clutter gitk with tons of tags. Is there some other mechanism to add custom metadata? Can I make certain tags invisible? If I could tell gitk not to display tags matching some pattern or RE, that would likely work but I don't see a way to do that.

    I'm using the C++Builder compiler which has a minor bug that certain static const items from system header files can cause spurious "xyzzy is declared but never used" warnings. I'm trying to get my code 100% warning free, so want a way of masking these particular warnings (note - but not by simply turning off the warning!) Also, I can't modify the header files. I need a way of 'faking' the use of the items, preferably without even knowing their type. As an example, adding this function to my .cpp modules fixes warnings for these four items, but it seems a bit 'ad-hoc'.     I have a requirement in which the view contains one native UITextField and one UIWebView. The issue is if I switch the focus from UITextView to UIWebView, the keyboard window flicker(hides and then shows). ie, I got UIKeyboardWillHideNotification and UIKeyboardDidShowNotification But, this is not happening when I switch the other way. ies, I got only UIKeyboardDidShowNotification Is there any way to avoid this flickering effect? Note: I also notices if I have multiple UITextField and UIWebView, this issue is not happening with the same type of views.

    Whenever I run my app I get the Android Device Chooser dialog: This is happening because I am using the Google APIs for 1.6 and trying to run the application on my Nexus one. Is there any way to make this automatically, or to not check the compatibility? Sometimes when I make a modification and quickly after I save and run the application, Eclipse will build the project and the Android Device Chooser dialog will show briefly and disappear and the app won't run. I have to click run again for it to work. Any workarounds?

    I have a MySQL user added to a database that I would like to prevent from viewing certain tables. I can limit their privileges through MySQL by preventing them from running statements like DROP or ALTER. But is it possible to prevent them from viewing certain tables in phpMyAdmin? If there isn't a MySQL privilege that controls this (I wouldn't imagine there would be), is there a configuration in phpMyAdmin that allows this? I understand one workaround here is to move the tables to a new database that they're not added to. This isn't an option for my application.

  • Core Data and iTunes File Sharing - Move/hide the .sqlite file on app update?

    I have an iPad app that uses Core Data for data storage. I would like to enable file sharing in iTunes and I don't really want the users to be able to delete or modify the .sqlite file. Can I move the file to a different, hidden directory? Alternatively, could the file be made read-only? I wouldn't mind users having access to the file as long as it couldn't be changed. I suspect there is a trivial solution that is escaping me at the moment.

  • "Use windows xp style dpi scaling" disables automatic auto-hide of taskbar on W7. Workaround?

    We noticed that on W7 with DPI set to 125% or to 100% with ("Use windows xp style dpi scaling") turned off, our fullscreen mode (which sets the client rect of our window = desktop rect of the main monitor) no longer hides the task bar like it does for other settings. (The setting can be found in the Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display section after clicking on the "Set custom text size (DPI)" link) I found the following interesting article: http://www.mathies.com/weblog/?p=908 So I set out to try to work around the bug in other means than manually hiding/restoring the taskbar visibility but so far I've failed and currently believe it's a bug in W7 (and possibly vista). The following applications also fail to work properly in fullscreen mode (the taskbar is still visible): * Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 * Microsoft Word 2007 * Adobe Reader 9.1.3 These apps work (probably by hiding the task bar through the WIN32 API): * Powerpoint Slide Show I also tried creating a brand new MFC-based app and use its "SetFullScreenMode()" functionality but it fails in the same way as all other apps on the list.
