  • UnsatisfiedLinkError on xawt when running HEC-HMS.sh

    I am a recent adopter of Linux and this problem has got me stumped. I use HEC-HMS and HEC-DSSVue for work on a regular basis. I have been using the widows versions in wine but they are really buggy. So I decided to try out the linux versions. the links below will take you to the download pages for these two programs. They are free programs for Hydrology and data management. Once I install them and attempt to run the shell file (HEC-HMS.sh for example) I get a ton of java errors that I do not understand. If I had to guess I would say that the java files in question can not be found. When I check to see if java is installed it is. If anyone could shed some light on a solution I would really appreciate it. The problem turned out to be that the program needed 32 bit versions of the particular dependencies.

  • SFTP - Unable to Overwrite File - "EOF received from remote side"

    I am working with a customer to troubleshoot an error they have when trying to overwrite/"PUT" a file to our SFTP site. When the root directory is empty and they try to upload the file there is no problem but when they try to overwrite an existing file this is when the error occurs. The error they receive when trying a put command in Java Caps is: The error is: Batch SFTP eWay error when doing data transfer operation in [PUT()], message=[EOF received from remote side [Unknown cause]].|#] When they use WinSCP or FileZilla to put the file it overwrites fine with no errors. We have tried: Multiple different files Checking their SFTP user permissions Gave full access permissions to "everyone" to the user's root directory in Windows Recreating their user account Ensured no other processes are using/locking the files that are being overwriten We are using Cerberus Professional FTP server software. Any ideas of what else we could try?

  • VirtualBox guest network lost after host disconnects

    I am running VirtualBox both on a Snow Leopard OSX host machine and on a Windows Vista host machine. Whenever my host machines lose internet connection the guest machines seem to lose internet connectivity permanently even after the host connection to the Internet is reestablished. Resetting guest networking on the guest os, disconnecting cable via host virtualbox settings, and even restarting the guest OS do not help at all. The guest no longer can access the Internet. The only solution is restarting VirtualBox itself while the host is connected to the Internet. This really gets to be a pain when the host goes into sleep mode or I disconnect my laptop at work and then reconnect at home. Guests are setup with NAT networking. It affects guest machines with both Ubuntu and Windows XP OS'es. Is this expected behavior? Does anyone know of a fix? Or am I setup incorrectly?

  • SunOne case-insensitive URLs

    It it possible to configure a SunOne web server to automatically redirect all URLs with capital letters to the corresponding lower case URLs? For example, redirect /Example, /eXamPle and /EXAMPLE all to /example. This would have to be for all URLs (or at least a subset excluding a specific prefix) I normally have nothing to do with web server configuration (especially not SunOne). I just need to now if it is generally possible and be pointed to the right direction on how to do this. Thanks.

  • Huh? JDK not found? (on Windows 7 64-bit)

    I am setting up a development environment for the latest Android 2.3 on a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit. I first installed the 64-bit JDK 6 (jdk-6u23-windows-x64.exe). Then, I installed 64-bit Eclipse Classic 3.6 (eclipse-SDK-3.6.1-win32-x86_64.zip). Then, I proceed to install the Android SDK Starter Package: installer_r08-windows.exe. But... upon start it says: "Java SE Development Kit (JDK) not found." Why? I just installed it. Is this a mismatch between 32-bit and 64-bit? How do I solve this? Update (1): I tried setting the %JAVA_HOME% environment variable, as well as setting the Installed JREs in Eclipse, as suggested below. None of these solved the problem. It appears that I am not the only experiencing the problem, as this thread suggests: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1919340/android-sdk-setup-under-windows-7-pro-64-bit I wonder whether there is a 64-bit version of the Android SDK. Update (2): I used the zip version instead (android-sdk_r08-windows.zip), ran android.bat, updated all SDK packages, and installed the ADT plugin (8.0.1), not before having to check: 'Contact all update sites during install to find required software'. We'll see how this goes... Update (3): It worked! (going to accept @bubu's answer shortly) -- but why doesn't the emulator include the HelloAndroid app when I run it (Ctrl+F11) from Eclipse?

    I'm preparing to remotely install Windows 2008 Standard onto a 6250 blade module mounted in a SunBlade 6000 chassis rack. Are there any gotchas (aside from the predictable issues related to bandwidth in transferring the ISO, etc.) for this? Has anyone else successfully completed this task? I'm not a hardware guy, I'm a software guy who has been handed this task because the guys in the datacenter don't want to touch it. Any help is appreciated.

    I've installed Java 7 on my Mac (10.7.5), but in the terminal there is still java 6. java version "1.6.0_37" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode) There will be no problem with the version 6 on terminal, if I always got that errors when I tried to install a java application (LatexDraw): : CGContextGetCTM: invalid context 0x0 : CGContextSetBaseCTM: invalid context 0x0 : CGContextGetCTM: invalid context 0x0 : CGContextSetBaseCTM: invalid context 0x0 The problem is related to instability of java 6 inferred from this link I've read this installed-java-7-on-mac-osx-but-terminal-is-still-using-version-6 and also try to change my Java version by using export JAVA_HOME="/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home", but in my folder /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions, there is no version 1.7, only versions under 1.6 ??? So, how can I fix this issue?

  • command history across multiple PuTTy sessions in SunOS 5.10

    I have multiple PuTTy sessions open to my SunOS 5.10 server, and I am using ksh, and SOMETIMES the command history is shared among the different sessions and SOMETIMES it is not. I cannot figure out what determines whether it is or is not shared. By shared what I mean is that a command run in one session will be seen as previous command run in another session. I prefer it not to be shared, is there a config setting for that? Thanks

    I just installed openjdk6-jre on Ubuntu 10.04 java version "1.6.0_20" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.2) (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1~10.04.1) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode) Every time I run "java" I get this error: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. This can be solved by specifying a maximum heap size and running "java -Xmx256m" But is there anyway to permanently fix this error (i.e. set the default heap size to 256MB so that I do not need to specify the max heap size every time I run the command)

  • Error when Eclipse started and now my package explorer is empty!

    Friends, Just a quick introduction, I'm currently learning Java, using a combination of the Head First Java book and Eclipse. Everything was going well until tonight! When I started up Eclipse tonight, I saw an error message which I didn't pay attention to (I know! I know!) and acknowledged after which the project explorer was empty where it used to contain my Head First project! Unproject the mouse into the camera to get the ray: Vector3 p1 = Vector3.Unproject(new Vector3(x, y, 0), 0, 0, width, height, nearPlane, farPlane, viewProj; Vector3 p2 = Vector3.Unproject(new Vector3(x, y, 1), 0, 0, width, height, nearPlane, farPlane, viewProj); Vector3 dir = p2 - p1; dir.Normalize(); Ray ray = Ray(p1, dir); Then get the Y-intercept by using algebra: float t = -ray.Position.Y / ray.Direction.Y; Vector3 p = ray.Position + t * ray.Direction; The problem is that the projected position is "jumpy". As I make small adjustments to the mouse position, the projected point moves in strange ways. For example, if I move the mouse one pixel up, it will sometimes move the projected position down, but when I move it a second pixel, the project position will jump back to the mouse's location. The projected location is always close to where it should be, but it does not smoothly follow a moving mouse. The problem intensifies as I zoom the camera out. I believe the problem is caused by numeric instability. I can make minor improvements to this by doing some computations at double precision, and possibly abusing the fact that floating point calculations are done at 80-bit precision on x86, however before I start micro-optimizing this and getting deep into how the CLR handles floating point, I was wondering if there's an algorithmic change I can do to improve this? Still, I'd like to stick with the SlimDX Unproject routine rather than writing my own unless it's really necessary.
