To view this form my view script is: <?php echo $this->form; ?> This all works just fine, with fully functional dojo form elements (datepicker, timepicker, etc) and successfully saving the data. However, now, I want to format the form that is generated with css. Such as grouping some elements and floating left or right, making some input text fields wider/narrower, etc. How? I realize I can modify the view script but it seems like that defeats the purpose of using Zend_Dojo_Form or Zend_Form. Is that a correct assumption?

    Hi, the question is hard to define without giving an example, e.g. I'd like to achieve something like this : SELECT (CASE WHEN ...) AS FieldA, 20 + FieldA AS FieldB FROM Tbl Assuming that by "..." I've replaced a long and complex CASE statement, hence I don't want to repeat it when selecting FieldB and use the aliased FieldA instead. IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE? What could be a workaround? Note, that this will return multiple rows , hence the DECLARE/SET outside the SELECT statement is no good in my case. PLEASE HELP. P.S. I am using SQL 2008

  • MVC - thin controller idea - Codeigniter/Zend

    Hi, Could some one possibly clarify this for me. In the MVC paradigm, the idea is to keep the controller as thin as possible, it is also true that the model is the bit that communicates with data sources such as the database, XML-RPC etc and this is where the business logic should go. Is the POST and GET data a 'data source' and should that kind of data be handled by the model or should it be by the controller. I would normally call a method in the model and pass it the post data, the data would be quality checked by the controller and the model method would simply do the insertion or whatever. Should it be though that controller just calls the model method if a post has occured and it is responsible for sanity check, data checks etc.

    I have a table with columns named with the number of hour of day like this: col00 NUMBER(5) col01 NUMBER(5) col02 NUMBER(5) ... col23 NUMBER(5) ...and I have another query that returns a count by hour. I want to recover the colXX value by hour.... then I can recover with "decode" or "case when..." but I want know if exists any way to recover the column by a text like this: select "col"||hour from table; in the hypothetical above example if hour is 13 then would be translated like: select col13 from table; there is any way to do this ?

    I have a form that check if email exists in the database within 2 tables. I'm using Zend_Validate_Db_NoRecordExists for both validate, but it only check the second one.   • Unable to send an associative array in JSON format in Zend to client

    Hi, In one of my actions in a controller, I'm using the json view helper to send back a response to an ajax request. On the client side I alert the data that is passed to the success callback function. It works fine as long as the response is a number or an array with default keys. Once I try to send an associative array, it alerts with [object Object]. Server code: $childArray = array('key'=>'value'); $this->_helper->json($childArray); javascript: function displayChildren(data){ alert(data); } ... $.ajax({ url: "/po/add", dataType: "json", data: {format: "json"}, success: displayChildren }); I have no idea what am I doing wrong here, so any help would be appreciated...

  • Question creating PDF document in Zend Framework

    I need to take a ZF rendered view and create a PDF that should look pretty much exactly the same, and email it. The major issue I have right now is getting the HTML created by the view into a string that I can then process with the Zend_PDF::parse method. The view I need to turn into a PDF is the result of a posted form. I've tried grabbing the contents of ob_get_contents into a string after a successful post, but for some reason its not in there. Should I press on with this angle? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Well, It's a beginer's question but I really don't know what is the best way. I have a basic CRUD (Create, Retrieve, Update and Delete) in my project and I'd like to output some message if succeded or not in a div inside the same page. So, basically, I have a form which action is setted to the same page and I have a div #statusDiv below this same form which I'd like to output something like Register included with success. What is the best way for doing this? Set a flag in the controller $this->view->flagStatus = 'message' then call it in the view? Just to make it more clear.   • Pass a variable from postDispatch() to view instance in Zend Framework

    I have a controller plugin with postDispatch() hook, and there I have a $variable. How to pass this variable to the view instance? I tried Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance()->getView(), but this returns new view instance (not the application resource). The same with $bootstrap->getResource('view'). I don't want to pass it as a request param. Now, as a workaround I do it using Zend_Registry. But, is it the best way?

    Hi all I have created the following login controller for my site and it works fine in relation to logging users in a logging them out. The thing I want to do is echo the logged in users name into the FlashMessenger for the success page how ever as my code stands I only get the following message when redirected to the success page, "you have been successfully logged in as Array". Can I also ask the following does the line $session-user =$adaptergetResultArray('Password'); create an array of user information less the password value from the database.     So this is using javascript and HTML. For example: <select name='test' > <option value='1'> <option value='2'> <option value='3'> </select> If someone chooses option value 2 (from the dropdown) I want a popup to appear. However if they choose option value 1 or option value 3 (from the dropdown) I want nothing to happen. How can I do this? Thanks

    Hi In XML I'd normal expect the following to be perfectly valid and navigable in a meaningful way using something like PHP's DomDocument: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configdata> <page> <name>Home</name> </page> <page> <name>Log in</name> </page> </configdata> This is not the case when using Zend_Navigation. Each <page> element needs to have a unique name, so you would need to do: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configdata> <page_home> <name>Home</name> </page_home> <page_log_in> <name>Log in</name> </page_log_in> </configdata> This works, but is very annoying. I'd much rather have multiple page elements which can have the same name and can be easily copy and pasted when creating many pages for navigation. Why does each one need a unique name? Is there a way of not having to have a unique name?

In the snippet below, I am trying to send the word 'hellopanda' back but in the alert message, I'll get data as an object.     I have 3 tables: subcontracts, companies and contacts. Each table has a active_status flags which shows that the item is still active (hasn't been deleted). Each contact has a company_id field which stores the id of the contact's company. Each subcontract has a company_id field which stores the subcontract's company. Each company has a company_id field which holds its guid and a primary_company field, b/c the company could be a subsidiary. If it's a subsidiary, the primary_company field holds the id of the primary company. I have a subcontract form. On the form, I have a drop-down of contacts which are stored in a contact table. Currently the drop-down lists all contacts. I would like to have the drop-down only list contacts which belong to the subcontract's company or any of that company's subsidiaries. I have the following query which I use elsewhere in the program to pass a company_id and get its subsidiaries. public IQueryable<company> GetSubsidiaryCompanies(Guid id) { return from c in db.companies where c.primary_company == id && c.active_status == true select c; } This is my current contact selection public IQueryable<contact> GetContacts() { return from c in db.contacts where c.active_status == true orderby c.contact_name select c; } What I need to do is pass it the subcontract.company_id and then only return the contacts where contact.company_id == subcontract.company_id or contact.company_id == one of the subsidiary ids.

  • Problems with display of UTF-8 encoded content from a DB

    Dear members of the Stackoverflow community, We are developing a web application using the Zend Framework, and we are facing some encoding issues that we hope you might help us solve. The situation goes something like this: There are certain tables on a MySQL database that need to be displayed as html. Because the site is designed using the Spanish language, the database contains some characters like "á" or "ñ". Our internal policy is to set all the encodings as UTF-8, including all the databases and the tables. The problem is, that when we retrieve the content from the DB, some characters are displayed as question marks. We are out of ideas. These are all the things that we have already tried and double-checked: 1. The SQL file from which we load all the data is properly UTF-8 encoded. 2. The SQL is loaded through phpmyadmin (which is configured as UTF-8), and the resulting tables are displayed properly. 3. The netbeans environment used for coding is also set as UTF-8. The weird thing is that all the content that is hard-coded either as php or html is displayed properly. Only the values that are extracted from the database have issues. Any ideas? Thank you very much.
