• How to unit test my project against different versions of external dll api?

  I am developing an app that relies heavily on an external dll, my app needs to support new versions of the dll as well as being backwards compatible with the old ones. Are there any good ways to have my unit tests target all of these different dll versions without the need to rewrite the tests as soon as a new version of the api is released? How is this best handled? Thanks!

• Is it possible to turn a string with base64 encoded image data into a displayable image in flash lit

  I have tried using a data URI to load the image data into a movie clip, but flash lite does not appear to support the data URI scheme. I also thought it might be possible to base64 decode the image data and write it out to a file and load the file back into the movie clip using the file URI scheme. However, I do not see a way to write to the filesystem in the documentation. Am I missing something in the flash lite docs that would allow me to write to the filesystem?

To remove this application, you can log on as an administrator, or contact your technical support group for assistance." Why this happens instead of asking for elevation with admin password? • Can I safely interpret ISO-8859-1 strings as Win1252 when parsing e-mail?

  I need to support decoding ISO-8859-1 in my e-mail client. Specifically sometimes messages contain attaches that have filenames starting with "?iso-8859-1?". Wikipedia says ISO-8859-1 is pretty much the same as Windows 1252. I already have good tested code for decoding Win1252. Can I just use it directly and expect no problems?

To write one in C++ for the x86_64 I imagine requires at least a 12 byte swap operation - 8 for a 64bit pointer and 4 for the int.   I am currently upgrading our software to support ipv6 and in the meantime I'm expanding hostname/ip fields to the max hostname size. In sun documentation it seems like this can be up to 1025 (netdb.h:#define NI_MAXHOST 1025 - this is the recommended hostname allocation define), but when I pass a hostname of over 255 to getaddrinfo I get "getaddrinfo failed: memory allocation failure". I am testing on a Sol10 box. Ideas?
