  • Flex Chart : Customize Horizontal Axis According to Range

    I want to build a LineChart with many data. The horizontal axis correspond to the date, but I am not able to find out how to customize the horizontal axis label. With this code, the chart display all the date on the axis and it's not readable. How can we customize the label so it displays only several points on the axis gradually according to the range?   • How to choose my own filename format for subscribed podcast files?

    I subscribe to several podcasts where the filenames of the downloaded mp3 files have no particular pattern to them. When I copy the directory of accumulated mp3 files into my mp3 player, the files play in alphabetical order. What I really want is to play the files chronologically by release date. I currently use iTunes on Windows XP to download the files. What I do now is manually rename the files, adding the date in YYYYMMDD format to the start of each filename so that an alphabetical listing of files will correspond to their chronological order when I listen to them later in PocketTunes on my Palm Centro. Is there some way to get the release date into the filename automatically? If so, I could automate or possibly skip the file renaming step. I would switch from iTunes to something else if that would solve my problem. The file creation time on my local disk isn't a reliable indicator because sometimes I download a few days worth of content at one time, and the files don't necessarily get downloaded in chronological order.

    Hello. I have a javascript widget witch provides standard extension points. One of them is the beforecreate function. It should return false to prevent an item from being created. I've added an AJAX call into this function using jQuery: beforecreate: function(node,targetNode,type,to) { jQuery.get('http://example.com/catalog/create/' + targetNode.id + '?name=' + encode(to.inp[0].value), function(result) { if(result.isOk == false) alert(result.message); }); } But I want to prevent my widget from creating the item, so I should return false in the mother-function, not in the callback. Is there any way to perform a synchronized AJAX request using jQuery or any other API? Thanks.

    I'm writing a kind of HTTP proxy, so I need to be able to do 3 things: Parse an HTTP-date given any of the 3 formats specified in RFC 2616, sec 3.3, Convert a file date-time to an HTTP-date string, and Output the date to a string. For reference, theses are examples of the date-times I need to parse. I will output only the first format: Sun, 06 Nov 1994 08:49:37 GMT ; RFC 822, updated by RFC 1123 Sunday, 06-Nov-94 08:49:37 GMT ; RFC 850, obsoleted by RFC 1036 Sun Nov 6 08:49:37 1994 ; ANSI C's asctime() format I'm pretty sure Boost date_time can do all of this, but I'm having some trouble with number 1. Does anyone already have code to do this? Perhaps I'm not using google proficiently, but I can't find an example of how to do this with boost anywhere. Thanks for any help!

I'm trying to select rows without a Date in the Issue Date column. Is Null the wrong kind of value to use for here?

  • Using setSourceType with image picker up hides status bar

    I am pretty sure this is a bug but I thought I would check. I used the camera overlay to add a button so that on the iphone a user can switch from the camera view to the photo library. When button is taped the source type switches fine but the status bar is missing from the photo library. Throughout the rest of that session the status bar remains missing from all views evet thougth isStatusBarHidden reports NO. This is how the camera overlay view is created if (cameraOverlayView == nil) { [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CameraOverlayView" owner:self options:nil]; } If camera is available this is when I set source type and add overlay if ([UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera]) { [imagePicker setSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera]; [imagePicker setCameraOverlayView:cameraOverlayView]; } Here is the action statement to change source type. (IBAction)selectImage; { [imagePicker setSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary]; } If I don't tap the button on the overlay there is no problem with the status bar. PS. I did submit a bug report on this.

    Hi guys, I have no experience with jquery or javascript for that matter. I am trying to implement this technique to respond to users for errors or messages in general. lights-out-dimmingcovering-background-content-with-jquery This method uses the onclick event and that's not what im after, I have tried to replace .onclick with .load but that doesn't seem to work. I'm after a quick fix as I really don't have the time to learn jquery or its event handlers. The goal is to catch any errors or message's and once these are called the alert box is called without any further actions such as .onclick.   • System time wrong after running ntpdate because DST ignored

    When I run ntpdate, my system clock displays the time as an hour behind what it should be. I know that ntpdate does everything in UTC, so I'm guessing there's a timezone setting wrong and it's ignoring Daylight Savings Time, but I can't figure it out. Here's what I've done so far: ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/EST /etc/localtime to set the timezone Set UTC=true in /etc/sysconfig/clock so that DST will be automatically applied date -s hh:mm::ss to set system clock correctly hwclock -systohc --utc to set the hardware clock correctly At this point date and hwclock both display the correct time. But if I then run ntpdate 0.us.pool.ntp.org, the date output is an hour behind what it should be. I've looked at a dozen tutorials and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Does anyone have any ideas?

    In need to find the age in days - months - years in OpenOffice. There is DATEDIF() in Microsoft Excel. You can use it to find the difference in days/months/years between two dates. Age Calculation You can calculate a persons age based on their birthday and todays date. The calculation uses the DATEDIF() function. The DATEDIF() is not documented in Excel 5, 7 or 97, but it is in 2000. (Makes you wonder what else Microsoft forgot to tell us!) I don't have any other control over the page markup etc. I need to add an extra element via jquery after each present on the page. The issue is that the elements are generated via an asynchronous call on the existing page which occurs after $(document).ready is complete. Essentially, I need a way of calling my jquery after the page has loaded and the subsequent ajax calls have completed. Is there a way to detect the completion of any ajax call on the page and then call my own custom function to insert the additional elements after the newly created s ?
