• C# Regex stops after first line matched

  Ok so I have a regex and I need it to find matches in a multiline string. This is the string I am using: Device Identifier: disk0 Device Node: /dev/disk0 Part of Whole: disk0 Device / Media Name: OCZ-VERTEX2 Media Volume Name: Not applicable (no file system) Mounted: Not applicable (no file system) File System: None Content (IOContent): GUID_partition_scheme OS Can Be Installed: No Media Type: Generic Protocol: SATA SMART Status: Verified Total Size: 240.1 GB (240057409536 Bytes) (exactly 468862128 512-Byte-Blocks) Volume Free Space: Not applicable (no file system) Device Block Size: 512 Bytes Read-Only Media: No Read-Only Volume: Not applicable (no file system) Ejectable: No Whole: Yes Internal: Yes Solid State: Yes OS 9 Drivers: No Low Level Format: Not supported Basically I need to separate each line into two groups with the colon as the separator. The regex I am using is: @"([A-Za-z0-9\(\) \-\/]+):([A-Za-z0-9\(\) \-\/]+).*" It does work but only picks up the first line and separates it into the two groups like I want but it stops at that point. I have tried the Multiline option but it doesn't make any difference. I must admit I am new to the regex world. Any help is appreciated.

  If I have an IEnumerable like: string[] items = new string[] { "a", "b", "c", "d" }; I would like to loop thru all the pairs of consecutive items (sliding window of size 2). Which would be ("a","b"), ("b", "c"), ("c", "d") My solution was is this public static IEnumerable<Pair<T, T>> Pairs(IEnumerable<T> enumerable) { IEnumerator<T> e = enumerable.GetEnumerator(); e.MoveNext(); T current = e.Current; while ( e.MoveNext() ) { T next = e.Current; yield return new Pair<T, T>(current, next); current = next; } } // used like this : foreach (Pair<String,String> pair in IterTools<String>.Pairs(items)) { System.Out.PrintLine("{0}, {1}", pair.First, pair.Second) } When I wrote this code, I wondered if there are already functions in the .NET framework that do the same thing and do it not just for pairs but for any size tuples. IMHO there should be a nice way to do this kind of sliding window operations. I use C# 2.0 and I can imagine that with C# 3.0 (w/ LINQ) there are more (and nicer) ways to do this, but I'm primarily interested in C# 2.0 solutions. Though, I will also appreciate C# 3.0 solutions.

I can make it look fine (and consistent) with by removing the - but then it's obviously just a dummy with no search - any ideas to fix the latter? • Using custom coordinates with QGraphicsScene

  I am experimenting with a WYSIWYG editor that allows a user to draw shapes on a page and the Qt graphics scene support seems perfect for this. However, instead of working in pixels I want all my QGraphicsItem objects to work in tenths of a millimetre but I don't know how to achieve this. For example: // Create a scene that is the size if an A4 page (2100 = 21cm, 2970 = 29.7cm) QGraphicsScene* scene = new QGraphicsScene(0, 0, 2100, 2970); // Add a rectangle located 1cm across, 1cm down, 5cm wide and 2cm high QGraphicsItem* item = scene->addRect(100, 100, 500, 200); ... QGraphicsView* view = new QGraphicsView(scene); setCentralWidget(view); Now, when I display the scene above I want the shapes to appear at correct size for the screen DPI. Is this simply a case of using QGraphicsView::scale or do I have to do something more complicated? Note that if I was using a custom QWidget instead then I would use QPainter::setWindow and QPainter::setViewport to create a custom mapping mode but I can't see how to do this using the graphics scene support.

  Hi, I have trouble understanding a fundamental concept in Java 2D. To give a specific example: One can customize a swing component via implementing it's own version of the method paintComponent(Graphics g) Graphics is available to the body of the method. Question: What is exactly this Graphics object, I mean how it is related to the object that has the method paintComponent? Ok, I understand that you can do something like: g.setColor(Color.GRAY); g.fillOval(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight()); To get a gray oval painted. What I can not understand is how is the Graphics object related to the component and the canvas. How is this drawing actually done? Another example: public class MyComponent extends JComponent { protected void paintComponent(Graphics g) { System.out.println("Width:"+getWidth()+", Height:"+getHeight()); } public static void main(String args[]) { JFrame f = new JFrame("Some frame"); f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); f.setSize(200, 90); MyComponent component = new MyComponent (); f.add(component); f.setVisible(true); } } This prints Width:184, Height:52 What does this size mean?   Does anyone know how to break out of a for loop when it's typed directly into the windows command-line? I know you can use gotos and labels to break out of it when it's in a batch file, but I can't find anything about breaking out of one on the command line. Here's a simple example: C:> for /l %i in (1,0,1) do @ping -n 1 google.com || (echo ^G & msg user "Google is down!" & QUIT) This should infinitely ping google.com. If it ever fails, it beeps (echo ^G), displays a message box to the user "user" that says "Google is down!", and QUITs. I don't know how to do the quit part though. I guess I could do something like taskkill /f /im cmd.exe, but I was looking for something more elegant. Any tips?

Question isnt programming related but I'm eager to get opinion of people who currently work with hadoop and how it would fit our setup: We use Oracle for backend Java (Struts2/Servlets/iBatis) for frontend Nightly we get data which needs to be summarized. this runs as a batch process (takes 5 hours) We are looking for a way to cut those 5 hours to a shorter time. Where would hadoop fit into this picture? Can we still continue to use Oracle even after hadoop?

I have to Search for the files with only .txt format in the current directory, count the number of cases of each different "Interface # nnnn" string in .txt file, where nnnn is a four or 32 digits max hexadecimal no and o/p of a table of Interface number against occurrence. I am facing implementation issues while writing a script i.e, Unable to implement the data structure like Linked List, Two Dimensional array. I am rewriting a script using multi dimension array (Pass values into the arrays in and out of procedure) in TCL to scan through the every .txt file and search for the the string/regular expression ‘Interface # ’ to count and display the number of occurrences. If someone could help me to complete this part will be much appreciated.   Frustrated by lack of a simple ACDSee equivalent for OS X, I'm looking to hack one up for myself. I'm looking for a gui library that accommodates: Full screen image display High quality image fit-to-screen (for display) Low memory usage Fast display Reasonable learning curve (the simpler the better) Looks like there are several choices, so which is the best? Here are some I've run across: PyOpenGL PyGame PyQT wxpython I don't have any particular experience with any of these, nor any strong desire to become an expert - I'm looking for the simplest solution. What do you recommend? [Update] For those not familiar with ACDSee, here's what it does that I care about: Simple list/thubmnail display of images in a directory Sort by name/size/type Ability to view images full screen Single-key delete while viewing full screen Move to next/previous image while viewing full screen Ability to select a group of images for: move to / copy to directory delete resize ACDSee has a bunch of niceties as well, such as remembering directories you've moved images to in the past, remembering your resize settings, displaying the total size of the images you've selected, etc. I've tried most of the options I could find (including Xee) and none of them quite get there. Please keep in mind that this is a programming/library question, not a criticism of any of the existing tools.

• How to find minimum cut-sets for several subgraphs of a graph of degrees 2 to 4

  I have a problem, Im trying to make A* searches through a grid based game like pacman or sokoban, but i need to find "enclosures". What do i mean by enclosures? subgraphs with as few cut edges as possible given a maximum size and minimum size for number of vertices that act as soft constraints. Alternatively you could say i am looking to find bridges between subgraphs, but its generally the same problem. Given a game that looks like this, what i want to do is find enclosures so that i can properly find entrances to them and thus get a good heuristic for reaching vertices inside these enclosures. So what i want is to find these colored regions on any given map. The reason for me bothering to do this and not just staying content with the performance of a simple manhattan distance heuristic is that an enclosure heuristic can give more optimal results and i would not have to actually do the A* to get some proper distance calculations and also for later adding competitive blocking of opponents within these enclosures when playing sokoban type games. Also the enclosure heuristic can be used for a minimax approach to finding goal vertices more properly. Do you know of a good algorithm for solving this problem or have any suggestions in things i should explore?

When I click my save button to push my changes in my data table to my sql server the value in the data table is never changed. • UITextField inside of UITableViewCell will not activate on iPad but works on iPhone

  I have a UITextField inside a UITableViewCell. It will not activate on the iPad (but it works fine on the iPhone) no matter what I try. Tapping on it and telling it to become the firstResponder both fail. The odd thing is that if I take the exact same code and move it to another view controller in my app it executes just fine. This makes it seem as if there is likely a problem in the parent UITableViewController but I can't find anything obvious. I'm hoping that someone out there has experienced a similar problem and can point me in the right direction. • What happens when you run out of ram with mlockall set?

  I am working on a C++ application that requires a large amounts of memory for a batch run. ( 20gb) Some of my customers are running into memory limits where sometimes the OS starts swapping and the total run time doubles or worse. I have read that I can use the mlockall to keep the process from being swapped out. What would happen when the process memory requirements approaches or exceeds the the available physical memory in this way? I guess the answer might be OS specific so please list the OS in your answer.

  We're running SQL Server 2000. In our database, we have an "Orders" table with approximately 750,000 rows. We can perform simple SELECT statements on this table. However, when we want to run a query like SELECT TOP 100 * FROM Orders ORDER BY Date_Ordered DESC, we receive the following message: Error: 9002, Severity: 17, State: 6 The log file for database 'tempdb' is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space. We have other tables in our database which are similar in size of the amount of records that are in the tables (i.e. 700,000 records). On these tables, we can run any queries we'd like and we never receive a message about 'tempdb being full'. To resolve this, we've backed up our database, shrunk the actual database and also shrunk the database and files in the tempdb system database, but this hasn't resolved the issue. The size of our log file is set to autogrow. We're not sure where to go next. Are there any ideas why we still might be receiving this message? Error: 9002, Severity: 17, State: 6 The log file for database 'tempdb' is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space.

When I store this file "12345.pdf" to disk, the file has a size of 71523 Byte. The additional 16kB at the end of the PDF file are the HTML code of my page (as I can see when I view the file in an editor). I am confused because I was believing that ClearContent and ClearHeaders would ensure that the page content is not sent together with the file content. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks for help!

• CSS Menus having cross browser problems

  I am trying to solve a problem with a CSS menu where the menu does not display properly in IE 6 I see that the HTML has some conditional code to make it work with different browsers but I do not understand it well enough. Can someone suggest a fix so the selected tab in order displayed without the grey breaK? • Upload image with Photoshop scripting

  Is that possible to upload an image from Photoshop (for example, an open image exported to jpeg) to some web place - REST service, FTP etc by using scripting features of Photoshop? For example - I have an image open in Photoshop and then execute some special script that sends an exported version of it to some place over the web. I saw something like this but it uses an automatically generated batch file that executes ftp command on Windows. I would like to use something more beautiful if it's possible. Or may be there are some info to know how to make a simple plugin for just this task. Thanks.

Can anybody put me right please, so the buttons work without "alert(nexttopic)" line included
