• Need help in listbox multiple select

  I have a list box, filled with countries. A user can select multiple countries in the list box. <asp:ListBox ID="lstRegion" style="width: 115px;size:3px" runat="server" onselectedindexchanged="lstRegion_SelectedIndexChanged" SelectionMode="Multiple" > <asp:ListItem Text="Please Select" Value="" Selected="True"></asp:ListItem> </asp:ListBox> I need all the selected values in the list box. I am using lstRegion.selectedValue but it is giving me only one value. I tried a different soultion, run a loop to the count of items in the lstRegion and find if the particular item has been selected or not. But this solution does'nt look good for me. Can any one suggest me how to get all selectedvalues in the list box

  VS2008, 32 Bit Win XP In a class derived from CFrameWnd, I have an object of CDialogBar that needs to have certain controls on it. Among these controls would be 2 sliders, whose event handling is to be done in CFrameWnd derived class. How shall I go about this? class CFrameWndCustom : public CFrameWnd { CDialogBar m_wndDialogBar; // the CDialogBar object. } In CFrameWnd derived class's OnCreateClient, I have created the DialogBar using the above object like: //Create the DialogBar if (!m_wndDialogBar.Create(this, IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL, CBRS_BOTTOM, IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL)) { TRACE("Warning: Couldn't create DialogBar Control!\n"); return FALSE; } Here, IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL is a dialog resource with Style as Child. After this, I drag-dropped a CSliderCtrl on the IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL in Resource View. Now, how/where should I handle the CSliderCtrl's events? There would be 2 such slider controls. • if (self = [super init]) vs. if ((self = [super init]))

  Was just doing a code review and started to wonder: I thought if (self = [super init]) checks whether assigning return value of [super init] to variable self was successful or not (value of operation). Thus (self = nil) would actually be TRUE. I thought if ((self = [super init])) checks what is the value of self after assignment (value of variable). Thus ((self = nil)) would be FALSE. Which one is the correct way to use when initializing your own classes? Apple documentation uses the former one (for example here), which style I'm actually using now.

• Background position image overlay (Works in IE, not in Mozilla/Chrome/Safari)

  Hi all, I am having an issue positioning a background image using the following jquery background position command in Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. The code works correctly in IE 8. $('#element).css({ backgroundPosition: 'xpx ypx' }); The x position of the image is calculated dynamically based on window size and the y position is static. The css appears to be modified correctly, however, the background image I am attempting to overlay is absent. • Lightbox getting open multiple time on enter.

  Hi All, I am going through a weird problem while using lightbox . Where ever the new light box is used user is able to open the same light box on same page number of time. For e.g Using tab button go to `Lightbox link`. Press enter --> Light box will open. Press enter --> second light box open below the previous one. and so on....... The problem is occurred when I use tab and entered on the link my focus is not getting changed from the link and so user is able to open multiple lightbox on clicking enter. • Selenium testing with checksums (md5)

  I am new at selenium testing and am writing a bunch of tests for a webpage that relies heavily on javascript user interaction. At first I wrote a lot of assertions of the style If I press button A" then assert number of visible rows = x, assert checkboxes checked are such assert title = bar .... [20 more] and so on. Then I switched to checksumming the HTML using MD5: If I press button A" then assert md5(html) = 8548bccac94e35d9836f1fec0da8115c. And it made my life a whole lot easier... But is this a bad practice in any way?

• How to hide/show div using jQuery without altering dimensions?

  I have a div that is holding a google chart: <div id="chart_div" style="width: 600px; height: 300px;"></div> It has one CSS property: display: none. On the click of a button, I would like to have the chart be displayed using jQuery hide() and show(). It's working, however, the chart's dimensions are set to something different than I have specified and refuse to change to what I have specified. Here is my jquery code: $(document).ready(function(){ var chart = $('#chart_div'); $('#submit').click(function(){ chart.show('slow'); }); }); Let me know if theres any more code you would like to see. By the way, the chart div is not being contained in anything else so that isn't the problem.

• Why I cant be able to change the UITableViewCell detailTextLabel's frame (just the label's position)?

  Hi.. I am having a table view with default UITableViewCell of style UITableViewCellStyleValue2. I just want to move detailTextLabel few pixels to the right. I know it makes no sense to adjust its width and height :). I am trying to set detailTextLabel's frame with my x and y value. But its not affecting the its frame. I prefer to use default UITableViewCell, in this case, over a customized cell because the default UITableViewCell automatically manages the text alignment and centering of the labels.. How to change UITableViewCell detailTextLabel's frame? Am I allowed to change its frame? Thanks everyone..

• <a> with an inner <span> not triggering :active state in IE 8

  I want to style the :active state of a button that is represented by an <a> tag. The <a> tag has an inner <span> (beacuse I want to add an icon to this button). I notice the :active state is triggered properly in everything but Internet Explorer 8. In IE 8, it appears that the area around the <span> (the <a>’s padding) triggers the :active state, but when clicking directly on the text within the <span>, the :active state is not triggered. • Can I include a view in Kohana 3 that is not within `application/views`?

  I am building a staff area for a website, which is completely different to the main brochure style site. I have 2 Kohana systems setup. I realise they can both share the same system and modules folder. Now, with the second one, I want to make the main template view a view in a different folder. I tried this in my base controller $this->template = DOCROOT . '../~new2/application/views/template.php'; But Kohana is looking for it in its own views folder as evident by the error I received. I even put a var_dump(file_exists($this->template)); // true to be sure it was finding the correct file. Is there a way to add a template file that is not within the views folder, without hacking the core Kohana code (and if I'm lucky not extending and overloading the view class).

• How can I get rid of horizontal padding or indent in html5 search inputs in webkit?

  In webkit only, the text in a search input is indented from the left side. Here's a demo. Even after stripping all padding, text-indent, and setting -webkit-appearance to textfield or none, the text is still indented. It looks to be around 10px or so, but the inspector doesn't show any CSS rules (even browser defaults) that seem to apply this style. But unfortunately if the sports are not selected like below when the form is submitted post is empty. • AS3: Performance question calling an event function with null param

  Lately I needed to call a listener function without an actual listener like so: foo(null); private function foo(event:Event):void { //do something } So I was wondering if there is a significant difference regarding performance between this and using the following, in which I can prevent the null in calling the function without the listener, but am still able to call it with a listener as well: foo(); private function foo(event:Event = null):void { } I am not sure wether it is just a question of style, or actually bad practice and I should write two similar functions, one with and one without the event param (which seems cumbersome to me).   I need an onsubmit to return false if what's written on the first field is a certain PHP value however the field has a strange id format and I'm not quite sure how to add it in the onsubmit. • Buttons size not equal in IE and Firefox

  I have few buttons on my jsp page and I am using the style as : .buttonblue { background-color: #003366; border-color: #99CCFF; color: #FFFFFF; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 8pt; font-weight: bold; height: 20px; display:inline; line-height: 1.2; text-align: center; margin-top: 2px; } In Firefox the buttons are bit smaller than IE6. I can not define the size of buttons as the caption changes the button size changes accordingly. I tried with width:auto but no success. Also, with overflow:visible the buttons in IE becomes bit smaller. Please help.

• Why does this PNG file look so poorly when embedded as a resource in a Qt project?

  Here is the PNG file and what it looks like in a QWebView when accessed via http://sstatic.net/so/img/logo.png: When accessed via HTTP: <img src="http://sstatic.net/so/img/logo.png" width='250' height='61' /> When accessed via a resource: <img src="qrc:/images/logo.png" width='250' height='61' /> As you can see, the only modification was the src attribute of the image tag... why the drop in quality? Edit: The file is being shrunk via width: and height: in the style attribute, if that makes a difference. I updated the code.
