• Cisco PIX 515 doesn't seem to be passing traffic through according to static route

  Ok, so I am having a spot of bother with a Cisco PIX515, I have posted the current running config below, now I am no cisco expert by any means although I can do basic stuff with them, now I am having trouble with traffic sent from the outside to address: 10.75.32.25 it just doesn't appear to be going anywhere. Now this firewall is deep inside a private network, with an upstream firewall that we don't manage. I have spoken to the people that look after that firewall and they say they they have traffic routing to 10.75.32.21 and 10.75.32.25 and thats it (although there is a website that runs from the server 172.16.102.5 which (if my understanding is correct) gets traffic via 10.75.32.23. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as to me it should all just work, but its not (obviously if the config is all correct then there could be a problem with the web server that we are trying to access on 10.75.32.25, although the users say that they can get to it internally (172.16.102.8) which is even more confusing) PIX Version 6.3(3) interface ethernet0 auto interface ethernet1 auto • Multiple infowindows - tearing my hair out

  Ok, I'll admit I'm nowhere near the best programmer on the planet - and I'm used to the answer staring me right in the face but not making sense of it. Problem I need to display multiple markers on a map, each with their own infowindow. I have created the individual markers without a problem, but don't know how to create the infowindows for each. Steps so far I am generating a map using the V3 API within an ASP-based website, with markers being created from a set of DB records. The markers are created by looping through a rs and defining a marker() with the relevant variables: var myLatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(lat,long); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ map: map, position: myLatlng, title: 'locationname', icon: 'http://google-maps-icons.googlecode.com/files/park.png' }); This is creating all the relevant markers in their correct locations. What I need to do now, and am not sure of how to achieve is give each of them their own unique infowindow which I can use to display information and links relevant to that marker. • MacRuby + Interface Builder: How to display, then close, then display a window again

  I'm a complete n00b with MacRuby and Cocoa, though I've got more than a year of Ruby experience, so keep that in mind when answering - I need lots of details and explanation. :) I've set up a simple project that has 2 windows in it, both of which are built with Interface Builder. The first window is a simple list of accounts using a table view. It has a "+" button below the table. When I click the + button, I want to show an "Add New Account" window. I also have an AccountsController < NSWindowController and a AddNewAccountController class, set up as the delegates for these windows, with the appropriate button click methods wired up, and outlets to reference the needed windows. When I click the "+" button in the Accounts window, I have this code fire: @add_account.center @add_account.display @add_account.makeKeyAndOrderFront(nil) @add_account.orderFrontRegardless this works great the first time I click the + button. Everything shows up, I'm able to enter my data and have it bind to my model. however, when I close the add new account form, things start going bad. if I set the add new account window to release on close, then the second time I click the + button, the window will still pop up but it's frozen. i can't click any buttons, enter any data, or even close the form. i assume this is because the form's code has been released, so there is no message loop processing the form... but i'm not entirely sure about this. if i set the add new account window to not release on close, then the second time i click the + button, the window shows up fine and it is usable - but it still has all the data that i had previously entered... it's still bound to my previous Account class instance. what am I doing wrong? what's the correct way to create a new instance of the Add New Account form, create a new Account model, bind that model to the form and show the form, when I click the + button on the Accounts form? ... this is all being done on OSX 10.6.6, 64bit, with XCode 3.2.4

• WPF: Order of stretch sizing

  I'm creating a modal dialog window which contains three essential parts: a TextBlock containing instructions, a ContentControl for the dialog panel, and a ContentControl for the dialog buttons. Each of these parts are contained in a separate Grid row. I have some specific constraints when it comes to how the dialog should be sized. The issue I'm having is with the instructions TextBlock. I want the instructions to be as wide as the ContentControl for the dialog panel. The instructions should then wrap and grow vertically as needed. Should the instructions not be able to grow vertically, then it should begin to grow horizontally. Getting the instructions to be the width of the ContentControl and grow vertically was simple. The part I can't seem to figure out is how to get it to grow horizontally when out of vertical space. My initial thought was to create a class that extends TextBlock and override MeasureOverride. However, that method is sealed. Currently, I'm playing with the idea of have the dialog Window override MeasureOverride to calculate the available size for the instructions block. Am I missing a much simpler way of accomplishing this? Does anyone have any better ideas than this? Messing with MeasureOverride seems like it will be a lot of work.   I am using cocos2d to build an iPhone game. It's mostly done, but along the way I came across some things that I would like to handle better. I am fairly new to Objective C, and honestly I do more Perl scripting in my day-to-day job than anything, so my C skills are a little rusty. One of them is the fact that I have modified cocos2d files for some specific cases in my game. However, when I update to a new version, I have to manually pull my changes forward. So, the question is, what is the best way to deal with this? Some options I have thought of: Overload/redefine the cocos2d classes. I was under the impression that I cannot overload existing class functions, so I don't think this will work. Create patches that I re-apply after library updates. I don't think this will work as the new files won't necessarily be the same as the old ones, and if they were, I could just copy the whole file forward. Turn in my changes to Cocos2d. Not an option as my changes are very specific to my application. Am I missing something obvious? UPDATE: I will explain what I am doing to be more clear. Cocos2d has a CCNode object, which can contain children, etc. I added a shadow, which is very similar to a child, but handled a little differently. The shadow has an offset from the parent, and translates with it's parent, rotates around it's own center when the parent rotates, etc. The shadow is not included as a true child, however, so given the correct z-index, the shadows can render under ALL other objects, but still move with the parent. To do this I added addShadow functions to CCNode, and modified the setPosition and setRotate functions to move the shadowSprite: CCNode.m: -(id) init { if ((self=[super init]) ) { ... shadowSprite_ = nil; ... } } ... -(BOOL) addShadow: (CCNode*) child offset: (CGPoint) offset { shadowSprite_ = child; shadowSprite_.position = CGPointMake(position_.x+offset.x, position_.y+offset.y); return YES; } ... -(void) setRotation: (float)newRotation { rotation_ = newRotation; isTransformDirty_ = isInverseDirty_ = YES; if(shadowSprite_) { [shadowSprite_ setRotation: newRotation]; } } There is more, of course, including the prototypes in the .h file, but that is the basics. I don't think I need shadowSprite to be a property, because I don't need to access it after it has been added.

• Nginx no static files after update

  First, i must say that i am not expert in server administration, my site was setup by hosting admins (that i cannot contact anymore). Few days ago, i updated Nginx to latest version (admin told me that it is safe to do). But after that, my site serves only html content, no CSS, images, JS. If i try to open some image i get message "Wellcome to Nginx" (same thin if i try to open static.mysitedomain.com). More details: Site has static. subdomain, but static files are in same directory as they used to be before setting up static files. I was googling for some solutions, i tried to change something in /etc/nginx/, but no luck. I feel that this is some minor configuration problem, any ideas? The problem is I also need to be able to set blackout dates (usually the period between first of the month and today although sometimes first of the month to a few days from now). Without the styling, this works: DateWindowCalendar.BlackoutDates.Add(new CalendarDateRange( new DateTime(DateTime.Now.Year, DateTime.Now.Month, 01), DateTime.Now)); But when I add the style, I don't get the black out displays being displayed and worse its possible to select the blackout dates. • Windows 7 cannot join samba domain

  I have a 3.5.6 samba server with a LDAP backend (both on Debian 6.0). I've been successfully adding Windows XP machines to the domain for years. I now try to add Windows 7. I have made the recommended registry changes, but I don't have any success so far. Here is what happens: 1. I go to computer name, select "Domain" instead of "Workgroup", type in the domain name, click OK. It asks me for the username and password of an account that can add computers to the domain; I enter them. After about 40 seconds, I get the following message: The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "ITIA": The specified computer account could not be found. Contact an administrator to verify the account is in the domain. If the account has been deleted unjoin, reboot, and rejoin the domain. Despite this, the samba server successfully creates the computer account. 2. Therefore, if I try again a second time, without deleting the already created computer account, I get a different error: The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "ITIA": The specified account already exists. (Note that until a while ago samba wasn't configured to automatically create computer accounts. What I did whenever I wanted an XP to join was to manually create it. When I first attempted to solve the Windows 7 join problem, I setup samba to do this automatically, as this is what most people do, as I understand, and I thought that it might be related. I haven't attempted to add an XP since I made this change, so I don't know if it works, but whether it works or not, the problem remains.) • What is the most effective way to test for combined keyboard arrow direction in ActionScript 3.0?

  I need to monitor the direction a user is indicating using the four directional arrow keys on a keyboard in ActionScript 3.0 and I want to know the most efficient and effective way to do this. I've got several ideas of how to do it, and I'm not sure which would be best. I've found that when tracking Keyboard.KEY_DOWN events, the event repeats as long as the key is down, so the event function is repeated as well. This broke the method I had originally chosen to use, and the methods I've been able to think of require a lot of comparison operators. The best way I've been able to think of would be to use bitwise operators on a uint variable. Here's what I'm thinking var _direction:uint = 0x0; // The Current Direction That's the current direction variable. In the Keyboard.KEY_DOWN event handler I'll have it check what key is down, and use a bitwise AND operation to see if it's already toggled on, and if it's not, I'll add it in using basic addition. So, up would be 0x1 and down would be 0x2 and both up and down would be 0x3, for example. It would look something like this: private function keyDownHandler(e:KeyboardEvent):void { switch(e.keyCode) { case Keyboard.UP: if(!(_direction & 0x1)) _direction += 0x1; break; case Keyboard.DOWN: if(!(_direction & 0x2)) _direction += 0x2; break; // And So On... } } The keyUpHandler wouldn't need the if operation since it only triggers once when the key goes up, instead of repeating. I'll be able to test the current direction by using a switch statement labeled with numbers from 0 to 15 for the sixteen possible combinations. • Overwrite values when using gridview Edit?

  I am using a GridView which is bound to a LinqDataSource and using the automatic edit and delete buttons. However, I don't want the user to edit two of the columns manually, but done automatically. Specifically username who last updated the entry, and the date it was updated. The gridview only contains 3 columns: Name, Date modified, last updated by. Right now when the user clicks the edit button they can only edit the name column (other two set to read-only). Upon clicking the update button, I want the other 2 fields to update as well based on some extra code. I thought this was done in the code behind within the event rowUpdating, but it doesn't seem to work. My problem is in the dynamic / premium part. I am trying to do the following: 1) in the dynamic controller, lookup the username. 2) if the username is in the user list (database), show the Index ActionResult of the Dynamic controller. 3) if the username is not found, look up the username in the premium list 4) if the username is fund in the premium list (database) then show the Index ActionResult of the Preium controller. 5) If all else fails jump to the 404 page (which will ask the user to sign up) Is this possible? Looking up the user twice is a bad idea for performance? How do I do this without redirecting?

• Implementing rounded corners on slide down navigation menu

  I am working on the slide down menu you can see here. I have rounded corners on both ul#navigation and ul.subnavigation. When the submenu slides down it is possible to see the border at the bottom of ul.subnavigation overlap with the content of ul#navigation, when I would like it to slide down smoothly, without the 'flicker'. I am aware that this issue is caused by the rounded corners. I need ul.subnavigation to cover the rounded corners at the bottom of ul#navigation when the menu drops down, without seeing the double border-bottom issue. I hope this is clear! Code is below. • Alternative to Page_Load in ASP.NET (and a good WTF story)

  Woo, I have a doozy of a problem (might even be one for the Daily WTF) and I'm hoping there's a solution. (My apologies for the long post...) I have been working on a website that I inherited about a month ago. One of the parts I have been working on is fixing one of the controls (essentially a dynamic header bar) so that it displays additional information as requested by my users. As part of doing this project, I created a Site.master file so that I wouldn't have to recode the header bar into every single page. When I first started doing this, it seemingly worked very well. All the pages I had developed looked great and the bar updated as it should displaying the information as it should. Well, when I dropped the Site.master (and this control) into older site pages (ones I did not specifically develop) I noticed that it looked bad on some of them, but not all of them. When I say it looked bad, basically, the control would left-align itself to the page rather than center as it should. I spent a couple hours debugging to no avail - CSS looked correct, the HTML appeared to be okay, I didn't see anything in the Javascript (although, I did miss something as I'll point out in a second), and even the old code looked correct (to the best that it could - it's not very well written). Another coworker took a look at the site and couldn't find anything at first, either. It wasn't until I just thought to look at the rendered source code of the page (I had been working in the developer view up to this point in IE8) that it became clear what was wrong. The original developer performs searches on many of the pages. To accomplish this, he queries the database for ALL the data and then loads them into Javascript arrays within the page so he can get access to them. This in itself is a huge problem because we're talking about thousands of items, and it obviously isn't scalable (and, yes, the site is slow). However, it finally clicked what was screwing up the Site.master - when he loads the data into the Javascript arrays, he writes out the data to the HTML upon Page_Load using numerous Response.Write(string) calls. The WTF (and what was messing me up) is that he inserts the Javascript before the DOCTYPE causing IE to go into quirks mode! So, because I need to at least get this release out (I'll fix the real problem later), I was wondering: is there a way I can force this Javascript to be inserted elsewhere into the HTML—after the DOCTYPE at the very least? Right now, all the Response.Write() calls are being done in the Page_Load method. I just need them to be inserted later.

I was able to do it when it returns just one result but when it gives me multiple results I could only edit the very last item. • Ajax load div , part of CSS not working

  Hello, I'm using the ajax to load a div content, but the div content is not taking the CSS of the page. Example :- This link will load into <a href="#" onclick="javascript:loadAjax('test.html')">Test</a> <div id="result"> <table class="tablesorter"> <thead> <tr> <th>Header 1</th><th>Header 2</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr><td>Record 1</td><td>Desc 1</td></tr> </tbody> </table> </div> In my CSS : table.tablesorter thead tr th, table.tablesorter tfoot tr th { background-color: #e6EEEE; border: 1px solid #FFF; font-size: 8pt; padding: 4px; } table.tablesorter thead tr .header { background-image: url(bg.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; cursor: pointer; } In my test.html, it's the same table with different record : <table class="tablesorter"> <thead> <tr> <th>Header 1</th><th>Header 2</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr><td>Record 2</td><td>Desc 2</td></tr> </tbody> </table> The issue I'm facing is that before "test.html" is load, the CSS is fine. But after clicking on the link which suppose to loads test.html, the CSS background still shows but "cursor:pointer" and "background-image" not longer works. What should I do to make it work? • How to design a high-level application protocol for metadata syncing between devices and server?

  I am looking for guidance on how to best think about designing a high-level application protocol to sync metadata between end-user devices and a server. My goal: the user can interact with the application data on any device, or on the web. The purpose of this protocol is to communicate changes made on one endpoint to other endpoints through the server, and ensure all devices maintain a consistent picture of the application data. If user makes changes on one device or on the web, the protocol will push data to the central repository, from where other devices can pull it. Some other design thoughts: I call it "metadata syncing" because the payloads will be quite small, in the form of object IDs and small metadata about those ID-s. When client endpoints retrieve new metadata over this protocol, they will fetch actual object data from an external source based on this metadata. Fetching the "real" object data is out of scope, I'm only talking about metadata syncing here. Using HTTP for transport and JSON for payload container. The question is basically about how to best design the JSON payload schema. I want this to be easy to implement and maintain on the web and across desktop and mobile devices. The best approach feels to be simple timer- or event-based HTTP request/response without any persistent channels. Also, you should not have a PhD to read it, and I want my spec to fit on 2 pages, not 200. Authentication and security are out of scope for this question: assume that the requests are secure and authenticated. The goal is eventual consistency of data on devices, it is not entirely realtime. For example, user can make changes on one device while being offline. When going online again, user would perform "sync" operation to push local changes and retrieve remote changes. Having said that, the protocol should support both of these modes of operation: Starting from scratch on a device, should be able to pull the whole metadata picture "sync as you go". When looking at the data on two devices side by side and making changes, should be easy to push those changes as short individual messages which the other device can receive near-realtime (subject to when it decides to contact server for sync). As a concrete example, you can think of Dropbox (it is not what I'm working on, but it helps to understand the model): on a range of devices, the user can manage a files and folders—move them around, create new ones, remove old ones etc. And in my context the "metadata" would be the file and folder structure, but not the actual file contents. And metadata fields would be something like file/folder name and time of modification (all devices should see the same time of modification). Another example is IMAP. I have not read the protocol, but my goals (minus actual message bodies) are the same. Feels like there are two grand approaches how this is done: transactional messages. Each change in the system is expressed as delta and endpoints communicate with those deltas. Example: DVCS changesets. REST: communicating the object graph as a whole or in part, without worrying so much about the individual atomic changes. What I would like in the answers: Is there anything important I left out above? Constraints, goals? What is some good background reading on this? (I realize this is what many computer science courses talk about at great length and detail... I am hoping to short-circuit it by looking at some crash course or nuggets.) What are some good examples of such protocols that I could model after, or even use out of box? (I mention Dropbox and IMAP above... I should probably read the IMAP RFC.)
