• Performance of Serialized Objects in C++

  Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if there is a fast way to dump an STL set to disk and then read it back later. The internal structure of a set is a binary tree, so if I serialize it naively, when I read it back the program will have to go though the process of inserting each element again. I think this is slow even if it is read back in correct order, correct me if I am wrong. Is there a way to "dump" the memory containing the set into disk and then read it back later? That is, keep everything in binary format, thus avoiding the re-insertion. Do the boost serialization tools do this? Thanks!   I am developing an app and would like to attach my location to a message and make this location "clickable" so that they can see it on a map/get a link which opens a map. I am getting the correct location and store it into currentPosition but I am not able to send it so that the user can click on the link/map and see where I am. • Getting time from a cell in Google Spreadsheet

  Hi I have created a Google Spreadsheet form in which for one of the fields I get the time (hh:mm:ss) in 24-hour format. I am using Google Apps Scripts to read values from this spreadsheet and put it into another file. But the other file gets the entire date (don't know from where) and shows a date from 1899. Also the time is shown in PDT (not my time zone). Even the time it prints is not correct How do I read the column value as a string and put it in the other file OR get just the time from the column value (and the correct time) I am using a simple row[0][3] to get the values from an array after doing range.getValues() Thanks.

• Google Document export via API

  After using Zend_GData to retrieve a document list feed, I can use the content URLs in the form: http://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=<docid>&hl=en but the source URLs in the form http://docs.google.com/feeds/download/documents/Export?docId=<docid>&exportFormat=html are returning 404 errors. That URL should return the content of the document in the requested format but it is returning 404. This problem is mentioned without resolution on a Google API forum. As indicated in that forum post, this problem only seems to affect new documents. My code works perfectly retrieving old documents, but new ones are 404. Has something changed in the way Google references new documents or in the way permissions are assigned? The code I'm using is essentially the same as the code on this page but this does not seem to be an issue specific to PHP/Zend_Gdata.

• Tie destruction of an object (sealed) to destruction of an unmanaged buffer

  I'll explain my situation first: I'm interested of using the Bitmap constructor that takes scan0, stride and format, because I'm decoding tiled images and I'd like to choose my own stride so I can decode the tiles without caring about the bounds in the decoder part. Anyway, the problem is that the documentation says: The caller is responsible for allocating and freeing the block of memory specified by the scan0 parameter. However, the memory should not be released until the related Bitmap is released. I can't release the buffer easily, because the Bitmap is then passed to another class that will eventually destroy it and I don't have control over it. Is there some way (hacky, I know) to tell the GC to also release my buffer when the Bitmap is destroyed? (Also, any alternative solution is welcome).

  I need an onsubmit to return false if what's written on the first field is a certain PHP value however the field has a strange id format and I'm not quite sure how to add it in the onsubmit. It is displayed in html format, once login is done. • How to Print reports in Silvelright 4

  I am wondering if there is anything built in to Silverlight, or possibly c# to allow for printing reports? I'd be happy with any number of methods: exporting files to a pdf format and printing from there, exporting as a text document of some sort and printing from there, or just simply showing the print dialog from the web application itself. I know there are ways to do this in C#, but the c# code-behind is different for many things in Silverlight applications and I can't seem to find anything that will work. So if anyone has any ideas on things I could try it would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

• Deserialize Xml with empty elements in C#

  Trying to deserialize some xml snippits into objects. The problem is that I'm getting an invalid format on every empy element tag. I can deserialize the object no problem when all of the elements have values. Or the empty elements are ommitted.   What are the legalities of letting someone borrow a book that you have purchased that so happens to be in PDF format with no DRM? I know that I can lend a printed book to someone and this not infringe copyright, but a pdf? I know that the thought police are going to be on my case about "no one here is a legal expert" or the "question can't be answered" or "controversial", But I would like to have the opportunity to at least surface the issue, and allow people to comment.   Hello, I have a requirement in which, i need to upload an excel file into MSSQL database. It is working well till this point. But sometimes i am getting excel file in such a way, that the first 2 rows and columns are empty rows. That is not even fixed everytime. so the format of the table after upload is not as expected. It is assigning F1, F2 as column names for the table in mssql. It varies from file to file. I want to program it in such away so that the user can enter the row number and the column number from where the actual data is starting. So that while upload it should from line 3 and column 2. I dont know how to specify that row and column while uploading. Please help me to solve the same.

  I'm attempting to call LinkedIn's API and store Network Updates. Each update has a Unix timestamp that I'm retrieving as a string variable from the REST XML response. I want to convert the string timestamp to a mysql datetime format. The date() function accepts an integer as the second argument for time to be converted. However, I'm on Windows 32 bit PHP and the integer type for this platform is limited to 2147483647. $timestamp = '1293714626675'; // sample pulled from linkedin $timestamp = (int) $timestamp; // timestamp now equals 2147483647 $mysqlDatetime = date('Y-m-d H:i:s', $timestamp); // produces incorrect time Is there a better method of creating the mysql datetime in PHP? • Django Template - Convert python list into a javascript object

  I am working on a django / python website I have a page where I want to display a table of search results The list of results is passed in to the template as normal I also want to make this list of objects accessible to the javascript code My first solution was just create another view that returned json format. But each page load required calling the query twice. So then I tried only downloading the data using the json view and printing the table using javascript. but this is also not desirable as now the presentation layer is mixed into the javascript code. is there a way to create a javascript object from the python list as the page is rendered?

• How can I measure distance with tastypie and geodjango?

  Using Tastypie and GeoDjango, I'm trying to return results of buildings located within 1 mile of a point. The TastyPie documentation states that distance lookups are not yet supported, but I am finding examples of people getting it work, such as this discussion and this discussion on StackOverflow, but no working code examples that can be applied. The idea that I am trying to work with is if I append a GET command to the end of a URL, then nearby locations are returned, for example: http://website.com/api/?format=json&building_point__distance_lte=[{"type": "Point", "coordinates": [153.09537, -27.52618]},{"type": "D", "m" : 1}] But when I try that, all I get back is: {"error": "Invalid resource lookup data provided (mismatched type)."} I've been pouring over the Tastypie document for days now and just can't figure out how to implement this. I'd provide more examples, but I know they'd be all terrible. All advice is appreciated, thank you!
