• jstl taglib not found, where have I gone wrong?

  I'm trying to add Google Maps onto my JSPs by using the googlemaps jstl taglib. I've added this into my maven pom <dependency> <groupId>com.lamatek</groupId> <artifactId>googlemaps</artifactId> <version>0.98c</version> <scope>provided<>/scope </dependency> This then included the googlemaps-0.98c library under my project libraries in NetBeans, I right clicked and selected Manually install artifact and located the googlemaps.jar file I had downloaded. I've then added this into my taglibs file <%@taglib prefix="googlemaps" uri="/WEB-INF/googlemaps" %> And have then included this where I actually want to show a map on my jsp <googlemaps:map id="map" width="250" height="300" version="2" type="STREET" zoom="12"> <googlemaps:key domain="localhost" key="xxxx"/> <googlemaps:point id="point1" address="74 Connors Lane" city="Elkton" state="MD" zipcode="21921" country="US"/> <googlemaps:marker id="marker1" point="point1"/> </googlemaps:map> But when I load up my application, I get the following error. org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /jsp/dashboard.jsp(1,1) /jsp/common/taglibs.jsp(6,56) PWC6117: File "/WEB-INF/googlemaps" not found root cause org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /jsp/common/taglibs.jsp(6,56) PWC6117: File "/WEB-INF/googlemaps" not found Have I missed something simple? • Saving record in Subsonic 3 using Active Record

  I'm having trouble saving a record in Subsonic 3 using Active record. I've generated my objects using the DALs and tts and everything seems fine because the following test passes. I think that my connection string is correct or the generation wouldn't have succeeded. The save and add methods have parameterless overloads that I thought were safe to use. Do I need to pass a provider? • Single Sign On for Web Application and Application in Virtual Directory

  To enable single sign-on for a web application and a web application in a virtual directory, I set the machinekey in both apps to the same: <machineKey validationKey="xxx" decryptionKey="yy" validation="SHA1" /> The single sign on works just fine, but existing users can't sign in any more; their passwords are rejected. The machinekey used to be this in the parent application: <machineKey validationKey="xxx,IsolateApps" decryptionKey="yy,IsolateApps" validation="SHA1" /> I tried other ways to make single sign on work, but it just won't as long as the keys contain "IsolateApps". What am I missing? I should add that the in the membership provider, passwordFormat is set to "Encrypted". So I assume the password was encrypted using the key that contained "IsolateApps" and now when it tries to validate the password it's using the key without the "IsolateApps". Still not sure how to solve that problem. Is there maybe a way that I can set the encryption keys for the password separately from the one that is used for the authentication cookie?

  Hi Guys, So i've got this little static method in a .Net class which takes a string, uses some stored public key and returns the encrypted version of that key. This is basically so some user entered data can be saved an encrypted, then retrieved and decrypted at a later date. Pretty basic stuff and the unit test works fine. However, part of the application is in classic ASP. This then uses some COM visible version of the class to go off and invoke the method on the real class and return the same string to the COM client (classic ASP). I use this kind of stuff all the time, but in this case we have a major problem. As the method is doing something with RSA keys and has to access certain machine information to do so, we get the error: "The requested operation requires delegation to be enabled on the machine. I've searched around a lot, but can't really understand what this means. I assume I am getting this error on the COM but not the UT because the UT runs as me (Administrator) and classic ASP as IWAM. Anyone know what I need to do to enable IWAM to do this? Or indeed if this is the real problem here?

  I need a WeifenLuo replacement that'll run on both .NET and Mono, on Windows, Linux and Mac, preferrably licensed under the MIT license. I'd appreciate if the API was similar to WeifenLuo's, but I understand that such may not be available. Also, since I couldn't find anything on Google, I believe this might not exist. In this case, I'd like some hints regarding how to implement this. I have some(not much) Windows.Forms experience, and I must not use any P/Invoke. I already know out how to detect window motion and how to create a borderless translucent window on a given position and with a given size. So here are some problems I am facing: WeifenLuo supports multiple left/right/top/bottom panes, allowing them to be resized and contain more than one panel. It also supports splittable tabs. Is there anything else I should be aware of before starting? Are there similar open-source projects available?

  I am getting the following error when attempting to build my project in Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition: *Task failed because “sgen.exe” was not found, or the correct Microsoft Windows SDK is not installed. The task is looking for “sgen.exe” in the “bin” subdirectory beneath the location specified in the InstallationFolder value of the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A. You may be able to solve the problem by doing one of the following: 1) Install the Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5. 2) Install Visual Studio 2008. 3) Manually set the above registry key to the correct location. 4) Pass the correct location into the “ToolPath” parameter of the task.* I tried downloading Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5, and still get the error. I also tried downloading the Windows 7 SDK and .NET Framework 3.5 and still same result. I also tried to manually editing the registry to change the InstallationFolder and I tried repairing the Visual Studio install. The project was originally created on WinXP and I am trying to compile on a reformatted machine running Windows 7 Enterprise.

I would really appreciate any help.

• What's the "best" database for embedded?

  I'm an embedded guy, not a database guy. I've been asked to redesign an existing system which has bottlenecks in several places. The embedded device is based around an ARM 9 processor running at 220mHz. There should be a database of 50k entries (may increase to 250k) each with 1k of data (max 8 filed). That's approximate - I can try to get more precise figures if necessary. They are currently using SqlLite 2 and planning to move to SqlLite 3. Without starting a flame war - I am a complete d/b newbie just seeking advice - is that the "best" decision? I realize that this might be a "how long is a piece of string?" question, but any pointers woudl be greatly welcomed. I don't mind doing a lot of reading & research, but just hoped that you could get me off to a flying start. Thanks. p.s Again, a total rewrite, might not even stick with embedded Linux, but switch to eCos, don't worry too much about one time conversion between d/b formats. Oh, and accesses should be infrequent, at most one every few seconds. edit: ok, it seems they have 30k entries (may reach 100k or more) of only 5 or 6 fields each, but at least 3 of them can be a search key for a record. They are toying with "having no d/b at all, since the data are so simple", but it seems to me that with multiple keys, we couldn't use fancy stuff like a quicksort() type search (recursive, binary search). Any thoughts on "no d/b", just data-structures? Btw, one key is 800k - not sure how well SqlLite handles that (maybe with "no d/b" I have to hash that 800k to something smaller?)

• How do I achieve a 'select or insert' task using LINQ to EF?

  I have an import process with regions, locations, and shifts, where a Shift object has a Location property, and a Location object has a Region property. If a region name does not exist, I create the region, and like wise a location. I thought I could neatly encapsulate the 'Select if exists, or create' logic into helper classes for Region and Location, but if I use local data contexts in these classes I run into attach and detach overheads that become unpleasent. If I include a data context dependency in these classes, my encapsulation feels broken. What is the ideal method for achieving this, or where is the ideal place to place this functionality? In my example I have leaned heavily on the foreign key crutch provided with .NET 4.0, and simply avoided using entities in favour of direct foreign key values, but this is starting to smell. • How can I access the group of a linq group-by query from a nested repeater control?

  I'm using a linq group by query (with two grouping parameters) and would like to use the resulting data in a nested repeater. var dateGroups = from row in data.AsEnumerable() group row by new { StartDate = row["StartDate"], EndDate = row["EndDate"] }; "data" is a DataTable from an SqlDataAdapter-filled DataSet. "dateGroups" is used in the parent repeater, and I can access the group keys using Eval("key.StartDate") and Eval("key.EndDate"). Since dateGroups actually contains all the data rows grouped neatly by Start/End date, I'd like to access those rows to display the data in a child repeater. To what would I set the child repeater's DataSource? I have tried every expression in markup I could think of; I think the problem is that I'm trying to access an anonymous member (and I don't know how.) In case it doesn't turn out to be obvious, what would be the expression to access the elements in each iteration of the child repeater? Is there an expression that would let me set the DataSource in the markup, or will it have to be in the codebehind on some event in the parent repeater?

  Hi all, I wrote a method that retrieves certain list of strings, given a correct string key. Now when I create a list(the one to be retrieved by method descibed in previous sentence) and create test I can easily get results and test passes successfully. Now on the other hand if I save the content of this list to database in 2 columns, key and value I wrote a class which retrieves this items with method inside it. And when I print it out to console the expected results are correct, now I initialize my DAO from application context where inside its bean it gets session and because of DAO works. Now I'm trying to write a test which will mock the DAO, because I'm running test localy not on the server .. so I told jmock to mock it : private MyDAO myDAO; in the setup() myDAO = context.mock(MyDAO.class); I think I'm mocking it correctly or not, how can I mock this data from database? what is the best way? Is there somewhere good Jmock documentation? on their official site its not very good and clear, you have to know what you seek in order to find it, can't discover something cool in the mean time.

• Creating a (ClickOnce) setup for VSTO Outlook Add-in

  So I created an Outlook Add-in and used the click-once setup to deploy it. The setup runs fine when the user is administrator, but otherwise: no go. Running the setup with "run as..." and logging in as admin works, but than the add-in is installed under the admin, not the current user. The addin doesn't show up in outlook. Examine the registry keys in HKCU hive e.g. you will find two interesting registry keys that appear under your HKCU hive: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\TestKey registry key containing registry value TestValue You now also have HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\User Settings\TestPropagation registry key with Count value set to 1 But on my machine, the keys are not created... What can I try next?

  Our web service wraps around a third party library that contains the following code. We are using an Active Directory service account in the IIS 6 app pool (no interactive login abilities). Our service fails with the error “The system cannot find the file specified”. We’ve traced the error to the “RSACryptoServiceProvider provider = new RSACryptoServiceProvider();”. The third party assembly depends on a x509 file based certificate for its encryption process and the Service Account has Read / Write access to the keys folder. Additionally, the service account has Read, Write, Modify rights to “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys”. • Updating textfield in doctrine produces an exception

  I have a textfield that contains say for example the following text:- "A traditional English dish comprising sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with vegetables and gravy." This textfield is in a form that simply updates an item record using it's ID. If I edit part of the textfield and replace "and gravy." with "humous." So that the textfield now contains "A traditional English dish comprising sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with vegetables and humous." This baffles me... is it a bug in Doctrine or have I missed something?

• Enumerating all strings in resx

  We would like to enumerate all strings in a resource file in .NET (resx file). We want this to generate a javascript object containing all these key-value pairs. How can we enumerate all localization strings in a resx file? UPDATE: Following Dennis Myren's comment and the ideas from here, I built a ResXResourceManager. Now I can do the same with .resx files as I did with the embedded resources. Here is the code. Note that Microsoft made a needed constructor private, so I use reflection to access it. You need full trust when using this. • Rails.cache throws "marshal dump" error when changed from memory store to memcached store

• Binding WPF menu items to WPF Tab Control Items collection

  I have a WPF Menu and a Tab control. I would like the list of menu items to be generated from the collection of TabItems on my tab control. I am binding my tab control to a collection to generate the TabItems. I have a TabItem style that uses a ContentPresenter to display the TabItem text in a TextBlock. When I bind the tab items to my menu the menu items are blank. I assume the menu items are looking for the Header property of the TabItems which I am not using. Is there a workaround for my scenario? Is it possible to bind to the Header property of the tab item, when I do not know the number of tabs in advance? Below is a copy of my xaml declarations. • WPF resource merged to Application.Resources but not resolved at runtime

  I have a brush that is part of a ResourceDictionary that is merged to Application.Resources. But for some reason it's not resolved at runtime when a style is being applied to one of the controls. However, if I call Application.Current.FindResource("BrushName") from the Immediate Window at the time when exception is thrown, the resource is found. Am I missing something? Isn't WPF supposed to try to look for the resource in the app's resources? • Sparse matrices / arrays in Java

  I'm working on a project, written in Java, which requires that I build a very large 2-D sparse array. Very sparse, if that makes a difference. Anyway: the most crucial aspect for this application is efficency in terms of time (assume loads of memory, though not nearly so unlimited as to allow me to use a standard 2-D array -- the key range is in the billions in both dimensions). Out of the kajillion cells in the array, there will be several hundred thousand cells which contain an object. I need to be able to modify cell contents VERY quickly. Anyway: Does anyone know a particularly good library for this purpose? It would have to be Berkeley, LGPL or similar license (no GPL, as the product can't be entirely open-sourced). Or if there's just a very simple way to make a homebrew sparse array object, that'd be fine too. I'm considering MTJ, but haven't heard any opinions on its quality. Thanks!! -Dan
