• Filtering log4net on method name - can't quite get it

  I'm using log4net to log my web app's progress, using Log4PostSharp to AOP-injectify all methods. This has the desired effect of logging (almost) everything and is fine. I now have a requirement to log JUST Page_Load methods to a file / console. I can obviously hamstring the log4postsharp class to do that, but then I'd be losing all the other logging. I've been looking at filters in log4net, starting with the StringMatch filter, but that only looks at the message being logged, and I'm after the method name. This put me onto the PropertyFilter, but still with no joy. My log4net.config snippet is thus: <appender name="RollingLogFileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <filter type="log4net.Filter.PropertyFilter"> <key value="LocationInfo.MethodName"/> <stringToMatch value="Page_Load"/> </filter> <file value="d:\\xxxx\\yyyyy\\zzzzLog"/> As you can see, I'm trying to key into the MethodName of the logging event via LocationInfo, but I'm still getting everything logged. • Sharing sessions across applications using the ASP.NET Session State Service

  I am trying to share sessions between two web applications, both hosted on the same server. One is a .net 2.0 web forms application the other is as .net 3.5 MVC2 application. Both apps have their session set up like this: <sessionState mode="StateServer" stateConnectionString="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424" /> In the webform application I am posting the the session key to the MVC app: protected void LinkButton1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Session["myvariable"] = "dan"; string sessionKey = HttpContext.Current.Session.SessionID; //Followed by some code that posts sessionKey to the other application } I then recieve it in the MVC application and try use the same session like this: [HttpPost] public void Recieve(string sessionKey ) { var manager = new SessionIDManager(); bool redirected; bool IsAdded; manager.SaveSessionID(HttpContext.ApplicationInstance.Context, Id, out redirected, out IsAdded); var sessionKey = Session["myvariable"]; } The key is being posted but the session does not seem to get loaded in the MVC app, i.e. sessionKey is null. Can what I am trying to do be done?

• Update table columns bound to NSArrayController

  Hi, I'm fairly new to the world of bindings in cocoa, and I'm having some troubles (perhaps/probably due to a misunderstanding). I have a singleton that contains an NSMutableArray called plugins, containing objects of class Plugin. It has a method called loadPlugins which adds objects to the plugins array. This may be called at any point. It's been added as an instance in Interface Builder. Also in IB is an NSObjectController, whose content outlet is connected to the singleton. There is also an NSArrayController, whose contentArray is bound to the NSObjectController (controller key is 'selection', model key path is 'plugins', object class name is 'Plugin'). And finally I have a table view with 2 columns, the values of which are bound to the NSArrayController's arrangedObjects, using keys of properties in the Plugin class. So far so standard (as far as I can tell from tutorials at least). My trouble is that when the loadPlugins method is called in the singleton, and objects are added to the plugins array, the table doesn't update to show the objects (unless loadPlugins is called before the nib is loaded). -reloadData called on the tableView doesn't do anything. Is there a way to tell the NSArrayController that the referenced array has been updated? I understand there is the -add: method for NSArrayController, which could be used in the loadPlugins, but this isn't desirable as I want to keep the singleton totally separate from the display aspect. This seems related to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1623396/refresh-cocoa-binding-nsarraycontroller-combobox The line: "editing the array behind the controller's back" seems to perhaps pinpoint the problem, but I would hope that it would be possible to have the singleton not know about the controller. So MSDN is telling me not to use that enumeration (LabelChildOption), which is afaik the only way to create a label and add it to a file. Is there a better way? Is this sort of a "grey" area in the TFS API?

• Add a custom variable to an email header already within a gmail inbox

  Hi guys - this may seem odd but I was wondering if it was possible to add custom header details to emails already in an inbox. Like lets say I wish to add in the Header of the email something like - myvariable = myvalue and then be able to query it somehow. I'm looking at code from Iloha mail and most of the details like subject and from recieved etc are in the headers and you can search through them. SO is it possible to add my own custom variable to an email header and query it in the same way? How can it be done using php? EDIT ==================== Thanks I know how you can modify the headers of sent messages plus also query for custom variables in message headers however in this case I want to know if it would be possible to add a custom variable in a recieved message already in my inbox. Actually let me define the situation here. I'm working on a google apps solution which requires maintaining references to emails. Basically the application is as such that when an email comes in - we create an order from that email and wish to maintain a reference to that EXACT email by some kind of identifier which would enable us to identify that email. The fact is that we don't want to download the emails in a database and maintain a separate store as we would want to keep all the emailing on GMAIL. We just need: A way to be able to 'link' to a specific email permanently - the UID is just a sequence number and not very reliable. We couldn't find any property of emails that could function as a unique ID or primary key and so we thought if we could instead generate a key on our end and store it in a custom variable on the email itself. However it seems unfortunately that there isn't a way to manipulate headers of an already existing email. :( is there any solution to this problem I could use any IDEA !

I can get the uploads and saves to the database to work fine but it fails to valid email or check if the users selected a file to upload.   I get this error whenever I try to view my tutorial app in the browser WARNING: No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/HelloWorld.Web] in DispatcherServlet with name 'dispatcher' That just means the request is being received by the dispatcher servlet but it can't forward it to a controller. But I can't seem to know where the problem is.   I'm following the demo code from article of phpsqlgeocode.html In the db, I inserted some Chinese addresses, which is utf8 encode. I found after urlencode the Chinese address, the output of the address will be wrong.Like this one: http://maps.google.com.tw/maps/geo?output=csv&key=ABQIAAAAfG3KxFZXjEslq8VNxMBpKRR08snBovzCxLQZ9DWwpnzxH-ROPxSAS9Q36m-6OOy0qlwTL6Ht9qp87w&q=%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F%3F132%3F Then output(can't query from php, it have to test as browser url link), 200,5,59.3266963,18.2733433 Whose address is actually located in Taichung Taiwan, but turn out to in Sweden Europe. But when I paste the Chinese address(such as ???????? ?131?56?58?60?) in the url, the result turn out to be fine!!! So my question is how to make sure it send out the original Chiness address?? how to prevent urlencode()??? I found take urlencode() away not change anything. (I've change the MAPS_HOST from maps.google.com to maps.google.com.tw.) (I'm sure my key is right, and other English address geocoding are fine.) Thanks!!

• Plot in GNU PLOT

  I have to plot many lines in GNU PLOT.No problem with the X axis. The problem that I am facing is that most of the plotted lines are at yscale [0-0.05] ,few at range 60-70 and rest at 600-700. These numbers correspond to the y axis scale values. But after I plot I can see only 3 sets of lines all messed up. There is no clearity between the lines. Line at 0 and the line at 0.003 look like one single line. If I set yrange[0:0.05], the lines between this range are clearly vissible. But I want all the lines in the same graph. I have heard of breaking axis's and multi plotting..Can they be useful? how to implement them. Anyone pls help me. How can the lambda line be used which will sort the list, for an arbitrary number of keys that are passed in to the multikeysort function, and take into consideration that the sortkeys may have any number of keys and those that need reversed sorts will be identified with a '-' before it?

• Jetty startup delay

  I'm trying to figure out what would be causing a 1 minute delay in the startup of Jetty. Is it a configuration problem, my application, or something else? I have Jetty 7 (jetty-7.0.1.v20091125 25 November 2009) installed on a server and I deploy a 45MB ROOT.war file into the webapps directory. This is the only webapp configured in Jetty. I then start Jetty with the command: java -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=mystopkey -Denv=stage -jar start.jar etc/jetty-logging.xml etc/jetty.xml & I get two lines of output right after doing this: 2010-03-07 14:20:06.642:INFO::Logging to StdErrLog::DEBUG=false via org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.StdErrLog 2010-03-07 14:20:06.710:INFO::Redirecting stderr/stdout to /home/zing/jetty-distribution-7.0.1.v20091125/logs/2010_03_07.stderrout.log When I press the enter key, I get my command prompt back. Notice the 1 minute long pause between the 3rd and 4th lines. What is Jetty doing at this point? What other things could be going on? It doesn't even look like it has started my Spring initialization yet. Note that I checked my /tmp directory to see if it was simply the time to unpack my war file, but the file had been completely unpacked even at the start of this 1 minute delay.

• Sending a byte array from PHP to WCF problem

  Hi I have this problem: I have to send a byte array (encoded photo) from my PHP client to the WCF host. when I do a var_dump() on my array in PHP I get an array[2839] which is ok but on the server side when i debug I see that received array is only byte[5]...any idea how I can fix it? • NHibernate HiLo generation and SQL 2005/8 Schemas

  I have an issue on my hands that I've spent several days searching for an answer to no avail... We're using HiLo Id generation, and everything seems to be working fine, as long as the entity table is in the same schema as the hibernate_unique_key table. The table structure is pretty simple. I have my hi value table in the db as dbo.hibernate_unique_key. Several entity table are also in the dbo schema, and they work without issue. Then we have tables under the "Contact" schema (such as Contact.Person and Contact.Address). In the Person Mapping file: <class name="Person" table="Person" schema="Contact"> <id name="Id" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="hilo"> <param name="max_lo">100</param> </generator> </id> ... When I try to insert a Person entity, I get an error of "Invalid object name 'Contact.hibernate_unique_key'. That error is certainly clear enough. So I add: <param name="schema">dbo</param> to my mapping file/generator element. Now, when the SessionFactory is built, I get a "An item with the same key has already been added." error. So now I'm a bit stuck. I can't leave the HiLo generator without a schema, because it picks up the schema from the Class, and I can't specify the schema because it's already been added (presumably because it's my "default_schema" as identified in my XML cfg file). Am I completely hosed here? Must I either A) Keep all my tables in the dbo schema or B) Create a separate HiLo Key table for each unique schema in the DB? Neither of those scenarios is particularly palatable for my application, so I'm hoping that I can "fix" my mapping files to address this issue.

  I am writing an app for BlackBerry that utilizes a BlackBerry smartcard reader. There is not much documentation on the subject, so I'd really like if someone could give me starting examples. Basically, there is one RSA private key on the card plus a certificate (for paired public key). I would like to be able to encrypt/decrypt data and also sign it as well. The final goal would be to establish an mutual-authenticated SSL connection using client certificate contained on the smartcard.   I am writing a webservice, that when called should build a C# project. I'm using the framework 2 reference, Microsoft.Buld.Engine and Microsoft.Build.Framework. If you look under the '<Import>' section .csproj file, by default it has: <Import Project="$(MSBuildToolsPath)\Microsoft.CSharp.targets" /> which I then changed to: <Import Project="$(MSBuildBinPath)\Microsoft.CSharp.targets" /> My code to build the csproj is: Engine buildEngine = new Engine(Path.Combine(Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("SystemRoot"), @"Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727")); FileLogger logger = new FileLogger(); logger.Parameters = @"logfile=c:\temp\build.log"; buildEngine.RegisterLogger(logger); bool success = buildEngine.BuildProjectFile([Path_Of_Directory]+ "ProjectName.csproj"); buildEngine.UnregisterAllLoggers(); The success variable returns a false because the build faild. You may be able to solve the problem by doing one of the following: 1.) Install the .NET Framework SDK. 2.) Manually set the above registry key to the correct location.   I'm trying to get a global hotkey working in Linux using Mono. I found the signatures of XGrabKey and XUngrabKey, but I can't seem to get them working. Whenever I try to invoke XGrabKey, the application crashes with a SIGSEGV. • Converting from Latitude/Longitude to Cartesian Coordinates with a World File and map image.

  I have a java applet that allows users to import a jpeg and world file from the local system. The user can then "click" draw lines on the image that was imported. Each endpoint of each line contains a set of X/Y and Lat/Long values. The XY is standard java coordinate space, the applet uses an affine transform calculation with the world file to determine the lat/long for every point on the canvas. I have a requirement that allows a user to type a distance into a text field and use the arrow key to draw a line in a certain direction (Up, Down, Left, Right) from a single selected point on the screen. I know how to determine the lat/long of a point given a source lat/long, distance, and bearing. So a user types "100" in the text field and presses the Right arrow key a line should be drawn 100 feet to the right from the currently selected point. My issue is I don't know how to convert the distance( which is in feet ) into the distance in pixels. This would then tell my where to plot the point.

• Intersections of 3D polygons in python

  Are there any open source tools or libraries (ideally in python) that are available for performing lots of intersections with 3D geometry read from an ESRI shapefile? Most of the tests will be simple line segments vs polygons. I've looked into OGR 1.7.1 / GEOS 3.2.0, and whilst it loads the data correctly, the resulting intersections aren't correct, and most of the other tools available seem to build on this work. Whilst CGAL would have been an alternative, it's license isn't suitable. The Boost generic geometry library looks fantastic, but the api is huge, and doesn't seem to support wkt or wkb readers out of the box.

• Efficiently Determine if EF 4 POCO Already in ObjectSet

  I'm trying EF 4 with POCO's on a small project for the first time. In my Repository implementation, I want to provide a method AddOrUpdate that will add a passed-in POCO to the repository if it's new, else do nothing (as the updated POCO will be saved when SaveChanges is called). My first thought was to do this: public void AddOrUpdate(Poco p) { if (!Ctx.Pocos.Contains<Poco>(p)) { Ctx.Pocos.AddObject(p); } } However that results in a NotSupportedException as documented under Referencing Non-Scalar Variables Not Supported (bonus question: why would that not be supported?) Just removing the Contains part and always calling AddObject results in an InvalidStateException: An object with the same key already exists in the ObjectStateManager. The existing object is in the Unchanged state. An object can only be added to the ObjectStateManager again if it is in the added state. So clearly EF 4 knows somewhere that this is a duplicate based on the key. What's a clean, efficient way for the Repository to update Pocos for either a new or pre-existing object when AddOrUpdate is called so that the subsequent call to SaveChanges() will do the right thing? I did consider carrying an isNew flag on the object itself, but I'm trying to take persistence ignorance as far as practical.

• Changing App.config at Runtime

  I'm writing a test winforms / C# / .NET 3.5 application for the system we're developing and we fell in the need to switch between .config files at runtime, but this is turning out to be a nightmare. Here's the scene: the Winforms application is aimed at testing a WebApp, divided into 5 subsystems. The test proccess works with messages being sent between the subsystems, and for this proccess to be sucessful each subsystem got to have its own .config file. For my Test Application I wrote 5 separate configuration files. I wish I was able to switch between these 5 files during runtime, but the problem is: I can programatically edit the application .config file inumerous times, but these changes will only take effect once. I've been searching a long time for a form to address this problem but I still wasn't sucessful. I know the problem definition may be a bit confusing but I would really appreciate it if someone helped me. Thanks in advance! --- UPDATE 01-06-10 --- There's something I didn't mention before. Originally, our system is a Web Application with WCF calls between each subsystem. For performance testing reasons (we're using ANTS 4), we had to create a local copy of the assemblies and reference them from the test project.
