• Can multiple threads access a vector at different places?

  Lets say I have a vector of int which I've prefilled with 100 elements with a value of 0. Then I create 2 threads and tell the first thread to fill elements 0 to 49 with numbers, then tell thread 2 to fill elements 50 to 99 with numbers. Can this be done? Otherwise, what's the best way of achieving this? Thanks

  Here is the Javascript I currently have <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('.slideshow').hover( function() { $('.slides').cycle('resume'); }, function() { $('.slides').cycle('pause'); } ); $('.slides').cycle({ fx: 'fade', speed: .3, timeout: 280, next: '#next', prev: '#prev' }).cycle("pause"); }); </script> It works; but the thing is it works for all thumbnail sets on the page, and whenever I mouseover on one set of images, every other set of images loops as well. I do see that this is because I'm targeting classes, but my jQuery experience is quite limited so I have no idea how to only target a single instance of each class without effecting the others, and I can't go in and hardcode id's because my thumbnails and amount of videos on each page are determined dynamically via this Django template. http://pastebin.com/nf42bSAx I would greatly appreciate any help, as this is essential for my project (open source media platform).   I notice my query doesn't behave correctly if one of the like variables is empty: SELECT name FROM employee WHERE name LIKE '%a%' AND color LIKE '%A%' AND city LIKE '%b%' AND country LIKE '%B%' AND sport LIKE '%c%' AND hobby LIKE '%C%' Now when a and A are not empty it works but when a, A and c are not empty the c part is not excuted so it seems? How can I fix this?

I thought that the default would allow me to create controller/action.xml by using respond_to in the controller, but that doesn't appear to be the right way. • Is there a point to have multiple VS projects for an ASP.NET MVC application?

  I'm developing MVC application where I currently have 3 projects in solution. Core (it is supposed to be for Repositories, Business Classes, Models, HttpModules, HttpFilters, Settings, etc.) Data access (Data provider, for instance SqlDataProvider for working with SQL Server datastore - implements Repository interfaces, XmlDataProvider - also implements Repository interfaces but for local XML files as datastore) ASP.NET MVC project (all the typical stuff, UI, controllers, content, scripts, resources and helpers). I have no Models in my ASP.NET MVC project. I've just run into a problem because of that coz I want to use the new DataAnnotation feature in MVC 2 on my Bussiness class, which are, as said in Core, however I have I want to be able to localize the error messages. This where my problem starts. I cannot use my Resources from MVC project in Core. The MVC project references Core and it cannot be vice-versa. My options as I see them are: 1) Move Resources out but this would require correcting a whole bunch of Views and Controllers where I reference them, 2) Make a complete restructure of my app What are your thoughts on this? Also, Should I just move everything business related into Models folder in MVC project?? Does it even make any sense to have it structured like that, because we can just make subfolders for everything under MVC project? The whole Core library is not intended to ever be used for anything else, so there actually no point of compiling it to a separate DLL. Suggestions appreciated.

  I am working on android geolocation application in that I have added marker for current location and want to add markers for other geopoints also. I have created objects of OverlayItem for other points and adding it to ItemizedOverlay like itemizedOverlay.addOverlay(overlayItem) and then adding it to mapOverlay.add(itemizedOverlay). For the current location geopoints getting from "Location" object and other points are hard-coded values. After executing it only current location marker is displayed not the other hardcoded points.How can I add marker for these geopoints and where? Thanks , Vishakha.

  Here is the situation dealing with a vb.net website, I have students who will be enrolled into a course. The student grid view has many columns like client_no, student_name, date_of_birth, address, etc. There are over 100000 students so I will need to filter the student grid view to find the correct student to enroll in the course. Once they are found, the user selects them and somehow moves them to the enrolled grid view. If a student drops out then they would be removed from the enrolled grid view. This process needs to be easy to understand and use. Are there any examples available or other suggestions on how to do this?

  I'm trying to improve the search functionality on my web forums. I've got a table of posts, and each post has (among other less interesting things): PostID, a unique ID for the individual post. ThreadID, an ID of the thread the post belongs to. There can be any number of posts per thread. Text, because a forum would be really boring without it. I want to write an efficient query that will search the threads in the forum for a series of words, and it should return a hit for any ThreadID for which there are posts that include all of the search words. For example, let's say that thread 9 has post 1001 with the word "cat" in it, and also post 1027 with the word "hat" in it. I want a search for cat hat to return a hit for thread 9. This seems like a straightforward requirement, but I don't know of an efficient way to do it. Using the regular FREETEXT and CONTAINS capabilities for N'cat AND hat' won't return any hits in the above example because the words exist in different posts, even though those posts are in the same thread. (As far as I can tell, when using CREATE FULLTEXT INDEX I have to give it my index on the primary key PostID, and can't tell it to index all posts with the same ThreadID together.) The solution that I currently have in place works, but sucks: maintain a separate table that contains the entire concatenated post text of every thread, and make a full text index on THAT. I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require me to keep a duplicate copy of the entire text of every thread in my forums. Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?

  For example, I would like to animate a view such that it moves down in the y direction while decelerating, and at the same time it undergoes an alpha change linearly. The code would look something like this: myView.animate().translationY(100).setDuration(1000).setInterpolator(new DecelerateInterpolator()); myView.animate().alpha(1).setDuration(1000).setInterpolator(new LinearInterpolator()); This does not work of course because the LinearInterpolator overwrites the DecelerateInterpolator. Is there a way to have one interpolator for the translation part of the animation and a different interpolator for the alpha part? I am aware that this can be accomplished using ObjectAnimator or an AnimationSet, but my question is about whether it can be done using the much cleaner ViewPropertyAnimator.

The client databases and server database structure is different because we need to add client ID column to some tables in server data base. I use this way to sync databases; use another application and use C# bulk copy with transaction to sync databases. My server database sql server is too busy and parallel task cannot be run. I work on this solution: I use triggers after update, delete, insert to save changes in one table and create sql query to send a web service to sync data. But I must send all data first! Huge data set (bigger than 16mg) I think can't use replication because the structure and primary keys are different.
