• OnPage Load display one sentence - hide others

  Hi I have created http://techavid.com/design/test3.html and when you load the page you see there are 3 images. The sun image is focused(in color), while the others are greyed out until clicked. That is how it should be for the images. Under each image you see a sentence 1st: Sun, 2nd: Airplane & 3rd: Nano, but when page loads you see all three sentences. How to make it so when page loads the first sentence underneath the active image (sun) shows only and the others do not show, they only show when clicked (though that works just need to figure out onpage load only show "1st: Sun")? thanks :) paul J.

• Jasper Report doc export margin problem

  Hi there, Im using Jasper Reports to generate a word (docx) document but I have a problem when I want to try to print the doc. The exporter messes up the margins of the page. Does anyone know how to prevent that from happening. I know how to set the margin in iReport, but it just makes the data generate further from the page borders, but the margins in word which can be adjusted at the top of the page is laying right at the edge. • Android interacting with HTML5 tutorial?

  I've been looking at using a WebView to display an HTML5 webpage, where the novel features of the mobile device (GPS, compass, accelerometer, camera, etc) can be fed back into the web page. I was wondering if there were any good tutorials showing these functions interacting with the webview. So far I've found ways for the WebView to send javascript commands to the web page, but those interactions haven't been triggered from outside the web view (such as upon receiving an intent from the GPS or accelerometer). Note: The HTML5 Geolocation API is not what I'm interested in.   newly i have created a news website, everything is based on php and mysql, NOW with more attention on other news website i see something wrong with my site in all of them when you are click on a news, that news open like a new page and in link bar you can see the link of that news like this: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/09/space-shuttle-endeavour-lands-in-los-angeles/ BUT in my website i have a page that named viewer.php and this page connected to database, when you are click on a news in my site you see something like this in link bar: www.example.com/viewer.php?ne_id=14 ne_id in my news table set specific number for a news like 14 and all of news (title, content and so on)saved on database how that site work? how to create like that site? i don't have any idea? if you know somthing (EVERYTHING) i need it please , i have really confused really sorry for my terrible english and thanks for your time

• LIKE operator with $variable

  This is my first question here and I hope it is simple enough to get a quick answer! Basically, I have the following code: $variable = curPageURL(); $query = 'SELECT * FROM `tablename` WHERE `columnname` LIKE '$variable' ; If I echo the $variable, it prints the current page's url( which is a javascript on my page) Ultimately, what I want, is to be able to make a search for which the search-term is the current page's url, with wildcards before and after. I am not sure if this is possible at all, or if I simply have a syntax error, because I get no errors, simply no result! I tried : $query = 'SELECT * FROM `tablename` WHERE `columnname` LIKE '"echo $variable" ' ; But again, I'm probably missing or using a misplaced ' " ; etc. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!

• Visual Studio 2008 - Focus on textbox doesn't work when run from VS2008 as admin

  This is a minor, esoteric problem and not a showstopper, but I'm wondering what other VS2008 idiosyncrasies are out there. If you make a web app, add a textbox and run a focus function for the textbox on page load, it works when you run VS not as administrator from a Vista non-administrator account or if you run the page from a browser instance run on its own, not from VS. If you browse the page from VS as Admin, the focus doesn't work. This for Cassini and from the local IIS. Stuff like this just makes me trust VS a tad less.

  Hi, I am working on a datagrid with custom itemRenderer & [Bindable]xmllist as dataprovider. Now the changes done in xmllist are not reflected on datagrid UI until unless I re-assign the dataprovider as the same xmllist. As the dataprovider is Bindable so re-assigning is not required. But it was not working so I re-assigned the xmllist to the dataprovider of datagrid. It worked. Now my problem is when I re-assign the dataprovider my datagrid flicker(refreshes). It should not happen. 1) Is there any way out to avoid re-assigning of dataprovider? 2) Is there any way to stop flickering of datagrid on re-assigning the dataprovider? Thanks in advance.

  Hello all: What I would like to implement is 1 Using Qt's WebView(part of QtWebKit) to access some page. 2 Show specified html page if got HTTP 4xx, 5xx status (Ex HTTP 404, 500). 3 Also shows specified page when network connection is unavailable. • ASP.NET Asynchronous Tasks - Worker Thread Not Releasing?

  I am having an issue with testing asynchronous tasks in ASP.NET & IIS7. From what I have read, the worker thread should be released back into the thread pool while the I/O thread performs the async work, allowing ASP.NET to server other incoming requests. But when I simulate heavy load on the web application by making 20 simultaneous requests to a page (async.aspx) that performs long running async tasks, I am unable to browse to some other normal aspx page until the requests are just about done. Am I misunderstanding or missing something here? I am running Vista Biz x64, VS2008 + IIS7. I have the Async attribute applied to the Page directive.

• Only perform jquery effects/operations on certain pages

  Up until now i've been dropping all my jquery code right inside the document.ready function. I'm thinking that for certain situations this isnt the best way to go. for example: If i want an animation to perform when a certain page loads what is the best way to go about that. $(document).ready(function() { $("#element_1").fadeIn(); $("#element_2").delay('100').fadeIn(); $("#element_3").delay('200').fadeIn(); }); If this is right inside of document.ready then every time ANY page loads it's going to check each line and look for that element. What is the best way to tell jquery to only perform a chunk of code on a certain page to avoid this issue.

• Issues with absolute paths for js files in website

  Hello guys, I have a website which has so many sub folders in it. I have following paths references to my js and css files. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/styles.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> the above code is working fine on my local machine. the JS file is not loading when i host the website into production server. Problem in my hosting server is my website is ponted to www.somewebsitename.com instead www.somewebsitename.com/home.aspx . When I load the page with www.somewebsitename.com/home.aspx this url it is loading all the js files it is not loading files only when I load the page with www.somewebsitename.com. Please solve my problem. How to reference JS files so that they ll loaded how ever u visit the page.

  Hello, Im looking into using and customizing FLVPlayback in a project. How to go about this is clear, but I noticed 1 anoying thing. When going fullscreen, first Flash player goes fullscreen and then briefly shows the FLVPlayback component in its original size, before jumping to show the video itself fullscreen. I noticed on Youtube this doesnt happen. How can I escape this 'flicker' and have the video go fullscreen as the videos do on youtube? Thanks a lot for any tips! Marcel

• Evaluating php generated javascript "inline"?

  If you look at the source of this page http://kingston.talking-newspapers.co.uk/ you will see a large amount of inline javascript near the top. I don't really want all this extra stuff floating around in my page source, I'd much rather get it off into a script tag, and then I can minify it and all sorts. If I call it as a php file, this SHOULD work in theory, I just end the js file extension with php instead, and in the header I put the following: header("Content-type:application/x-javascript"); but... a lot of the php variables used to generate the playlist within the javascript are setup at the beginning of the main index.php file, and in calling this php-generated js playlist file like this, it seems to evaluate it entirely separately, so it's full of errors. The only way round it I can think of is to have the page write a file, then immediately read it in. The other thing is, the playlist is likely to change often and dynamically, so I think I need to get minify to NOT cache it?

• Why flash makes Firefox not to respond

  I have a full page flash animation. When this page is open at Firefox and I want to minimize or re-size Firefox screen, minimize button starts to blink and Firefox does not take any action till this tab is closed. There is not too much code in the flash file. What can cause this? Also this could not be related with full page. I saw other flash files doing same thing. As I remember same problem at Daily Motion. When trying to switch tab nothing happens till I stop video or close the tab.
