• Why won't my WPF XAML Grid TranslateTransform.X ?

• Why can't I get properties from members of this collection?

  I've added some form controls to a collection and can retrieve their properties when I refer to the members by index. However, when I try to use any properties by referencing members of the collection I see a 'Could not set the ControlSource property. Member not found.' error in the Locals window.   I have an application which uses a custom title bar. However, when my application launches, I noticed that the default title bar is shown for a brief period of time. My problem is I don't want to show the default title bar while my application is loading. How do I hide the title bar while my application is loading so that there will be no hint of it and then show it afterwards? So far, I tried the following solutions but none have worked: Hide the title bar in XML and then set the custom title bar in code. (Problem encountered: I received an error message saying: "You cannot combine custom titles with other title features".) • Jquery hide is not working in my Dialog box close span

I am trying to hide that Close becuase its not showing me in my dialog when I resize my dialog then its showing me.. some reason my CSS not showing me that Close button correctly on my POPUP. • Internet wireless connected with limited access, windows vista

  Hello I had some malware in my computer so I did a bit of manual work to remove it including resetting TCP/IP. Now the malware is gone. I can see my home wireless network and I can get connected to it but when connected I get the Internet wireless connected with limited access message. When I go to the IE I cannot browse. When I tried to ping 192.168.1.1 I got an Error Code 1231 Unconnected Network Problem. I have deactivated my Windows firewall as I thought it could be hyperactive security. Still no luck. I have Norton but it is not active, I have also Avast and AVG installed but they are not active. Any ideas?

• Can't access internet even though everything is working

  A friend recently upgraded to a new cable internet connection. The modem connects to the router and various PCs and smartphones from her roommates connect to the router. They don't have any problem accessing the internet. She has Windows 8 and can't access any website (via wifi and ethernet). DNS (UDP) is working, DHCP set up everything correctly, Wifi is working, Trace routes and Pings (ICMP) go through with no problem at all. But neither Dropbox nor Skype nor Spotify nor any browser (all TCP) can access any website. The thing is though, she can connect through the university wifi and via a neighbors wifi. It's just her home connection. No firewalls are running and the computer is clean - no malware. How could it be that only her home connection won't work and others do?

• Handle BACK key event in child view

  In my app, users can tap on image thumbnails to see a full size version. When the thumbnail is tapped a bunch of new views are created in code (i.e. no XML), appended at the end of the view hierarchy and some scaling and rotating transitions happen, then the full size, high res version of the image is displayed. Tapping on the full size image reverses the transitions and removes the new views from the view hierarchy. I want users to also be able to press the BACK key to reverse the image transitions. However, I can't seem to catch the KeyEvent. • Using CGContextDrawTiledImage at different zooms causes massive memory growth

  I'm working on app an where there's a view in a zoomable UIScrollView. When the user zooms in or out, I redraw the view that's in the UIScrollView to be nice and sharp. That view has a background image that I draw with CGContextDrawTiledImage. I noticed that memory usage grows every time I switch to a new zoom level. It looks like CGContextDrawTiledImage keeps a cache somewhere of the image scaled to different sizes. So, If I go from 1.0 to 1.1x zoom, memory use grows. Going back to 1.0 doesn't cause it to grow, but then going to 1.05 and then 1.2 causes it to grow twice. Back to 1.1 and no growth. Of course, the zoom level is under user control so I don't have control over how many zoom levels happen. Right now my background image is kind of massive (512x512), so this causes memory usage to grow very quickly. It doesn't show up as a memory leak in Instruments, just additional allocations that never get freed. I've tried to find a way to free the cache that appears to be being created, but no luck. It doesn't seem to respond to low memory warnings, for example. I also tried setting the view's backgroundColor to a UIColor created with colorWithPatternImage, but that doesn't work because I'm doing the scaling by changing the graphics context's CTM, not by setting the view's transform. Any ideas on how to keep memory usage from blowing up?

• How do I get rid of sockets in FIN_WAIT1 state?

  I have a port that is blocked by a process I needed to kill. (a little telnet daemon that crashed) The process was killed successfully but the port is still in a 'FIN_WAIT1' state. It doesn't come out of it, the timeout for that seems to be set to 'a decade'. The only way I've found to free the port is to reboot the entire machine, which is ofcourse something I do not want to do. $ netstat -tulnap | grep FIN_WAIT1 tcp 0 13937 10.0.0.153:4000 10.0.2.46:2572 FIN_WAIT1 - Does anyone know how I can get this port unblocked without rebooting?

  Hi, I am calling a stored procedure with EntityFramework. But custom property that i set in partial entity class is null. I have Entities in my edmx (I called edmx i dont know what to call for this). For example I have a "User" table in my database and so i have a "User" class on my Entity. I have a stored procedure called GetUserById(@userId) and in this stored procedure i am writing a basic sql statement like below "SELECT * FROM Users WHERE Id=@userId" in my edmx i make a function import to call this stored procedure and set its return value to Entities (also select User from dropdownlist). It works perfectly when i call my stored procedure like below User user = Context.SP_GetUserById(123456); But i add a custom new column to stored procedure to return one more column like below SELECT *, dbo.ConcatRoles(U.Id) AS RolesAsString FROM membership.[User] U WHERE Id = @id Now when i execute it from SSMS new column called RolesAsString appear in result. To work this on entity framework i added a new property called RolesAsString to my User class like below. public partial class User { public string RolesAsString{ get; set; } } But this field isnt filled by stored procedure when i call it. I look to the Mapping Detail windows of my SP_GetUserById there isnt a mapping on this window. I want to add but window is read only i cant map it. I looked to the source of edmx cant find anything about mapping of SP. How can i map this custom field?

  I can't access any share from my operating system, including \\localhost and \\127.0.0.1. I have Windows 7. NetBIOS over IP is enabled, other computers in the network can access my shares and other computer's shares, but my operating system cannot access any share. I have installed Windows XP within VMware, and the virtual windows xp can access all shares including the host shares. I can communicate in other ways like TCP, HTTP and gaming, but not access shares. How to solve this problem?

• Proxying/Tunneling IPSec traffic via netcat or SOCKS?

  I have a client that is using a SonicWall router as their VPN concentrator. I downloaded the client software and set up the router as a peer. My issue is that my company uses a dual DMZ setup, meaning we have an interior firewall, then a bunch of DMZ servers, then an external firewall, then finally the telco router. In this setup, the interior firewall has no way to communicate with the exterior firewall since they are on two totally separate subnets. The communication occurs through the servers that straddle the networks. In this case, I need some way to forward the ISAKMP/IPSec traffic from my desktop out to the Internet. My usual trick of using netcat on the intermediate proxy server doesn't work here since it's not TCP/UDP traffic as far as I can tell. All of my previous experience with VPN's have been using SSL-based VPN's which are clearly very easily proxy-able. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

• Why does Firefox + My code Destroys FireFox refresh

  I am soo angry right now. I lost hours and i dont know why this happens. Its a semi rant but i'll try to keep it short My code would not work, even after refreshing it was broken I fixed my code or so i thought because it stops working without me changing anything (you would think i am imagining this...) I somehow decide to make a new window or tab i run my code and verifies it works. I write more code and see everything is broken again I write test in a new window and see my code does work I see my code doesnt work and firebug DOES NOT HELP I notice when i create a new tab everything works I realize refreshing does not work and i MUST make a new tab for my code to work. Then i knew instantly what the problem was. I modify a display:none textbox but i set the values incorrectly. I cant see it because it is hidden. Now some of you might say its my fault because when doing a refresh all of the data may be cache. But here is the kicker. I was using POST data. I posted in between of the refresh each and everytime. Whats the point of using POST when the same data is cached and use anyways? If theres no chance for a search engine to follow a block user get link then why should i bother making anything post when security or repeat actions are not an issue? POST didnt seem to do anything.

  if you have an object and set a property for it, you can access that property in a function called on that object. but if you call a function and do an ajax request such that a different function is called from onreadystatechange, that secondary response function does not have access to the property. Thats a little confusing so see what I mean here.   I think it's best if I ask this question with an example scenario. Let's say your mom-and-pop local hardware store has never had a website, and they want you, the freelance developer to build them a website. You have all the skills to run a LAMP setup and admin a system, so the difficult question you ask yourself is - where will I host it? As you aren't going to host it out of the machine in your apartment. Let's say you want to be able to customize your own system, install the version of PHP you want, and manage your own database. Perhaps the best kind of hosting is to get a virtual machine so you can customize the system as you see fit. But this essentially a "set it and forget it" site you make, bill by the hour for, and then are done. In other words, the hosting should not be an issue. Given the requirements of hosting a website: Unlimited growth potential needing good amounts of bandwidth to handle visitors Wide range of system and programming options allowing it to be portable Relatively cheap (not necessarily the cheapest) or reasonable scaling cost Reliable hosting with good support Hosted entirely on the host company's hardware Who would you pick to host this website? Yes I am asking for a business/company recommendation. Is there a clear answer for this scenario, or a good source that can reliably give the current answer? I know there are all kinds of schemes out there. I'm just wondering if any one company fills the bill for freelancers and stands out in such a crowded market.

• Nested functions not allowed in drawrect problem

  I have a custom view onto which I draw some graphics from the drawrect function, which works fine. However I like to draw based on the contens of an array I pass on the the view just before I do a setNeedsDisplay. In the drawRect function I try to access the array but then I get a nested functions error which I do not understand. • Issue displaying a local image from XAML

  Hello, I have the below simple xaml: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <Image Source="happyface.jpg"/> </Grid> </Window> happyface.jpg is included in the project and its Build Action is set to "Content" and Copy To Ouptput Directory is set to "Copy Always". When looking at the app through the VS designer, everything is ok and I see the image. However, when I run the app, no image is displayed. I see the image is copied to the out out directory. If I put in the entire path as the source (C:\SANDBOX\WpfApplication1\WpfApplication1\bin\Debug") it works. Any ideas as to why the image is not displayed when I run the app? I read about pack URIs but thought that to just simply reference a loose image in the current directory, I can just use the image name. Thank you.

  Can someone please advise me on how my Ajax div can get an address bar variable. The usual way just doesn't work. My address bar currently looks like this: http://localhost/social3/browse/?locationName=Cambridge Usually, I would use a little php and do this: $searchResult = $_POST['locationName']; echo $searchResult; But because I'm in an Ajax div, I can't seem to get to the variable. • Does the managed main UI thread stay on the same (unmanaged) Operation System thread?

  I am creating a managed WPF UI front-end to a legacy Win32-application. The WPF front-end is the executable; as part of its startup routines I start the legacy app as a DLL in a second thread. Any UI-operation (including CreateWindowsEx, etc.) by the legacy app is invoked back on the main UI-thread. As part of the shutdown process of the app I want to clean up properly. Among other things, I want to call DestroyWindow on all unmanaged windows, so they can properly clean themselves up. Thus, during shutdown I use EnumWindows to try to find all my unmanaged windows. Then I call DestroyWindow one the list I generate. These run on the main UI-thread. After this background knowledge, on to my actual question: In the enumeration procedure of EnumWindows, I have to check if one of the returned top-level windows is one of my unmanaged windows. I do this by calling GetWindowThreadProcessId to get the process id and thread id of the window's creator. I can compare the process id with Process.GetCurrentProcess().Id to check if my app created it. For additional security, I also want to see if my main UI-thread created the window. However, the returned thread id is the OS's ThreadId (which is different than the managed thread id). As explained in this question, the CLR reserves the right to re-schedule the managed thread to different OS threads. Can I rely on the CLR to be "smart enough" to never do this for the main UI thread (due to thread-affinity of the UI)? Then I could call GetCurrentThreadId to get the main UI-thread's unmanaged thread id for comparison.

• Troubles doing transparent proxy for virtual machines

  Hi iptables gurus. First here is the basic topology: Internet | Gateway | Workstation---eth0---virbr0 | +-----+-----+ | | | vm1 vm2 vm3 I need to test a traffic analyzer running on my workstation, listening on some port (say 8990) on eth0. The rule [I think] I want is "any packets leaving virbr0 going anywhere to port 80 must instead go to port 8990 on eth0". My software running on port 8990 does its own check of the NAT packet mangling to push the packets through after it inspects them. I've been banging my head on this, with different variants of: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i virbr0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j DNAT \ --to 10.0.0.10:8990 And I've tried the more generic method of using the mangle table with --set-mark and ip rule add fwmark, but I'm not getting it. I guess what's confusing me is that everything runs on the same box. Thanks for any guidance.

• Unable to do Port Forwarding in Virtual Box

  I'm using Mac OS X 10.6. I have installed Virtual Box 4.1.0 in it. My Guest OS is Ubuntu Server 11.04. I have added a rule in Port Forwarding in Virtual Box - "guestssh" TCP 127.0.1.1 8080 127.0.0.1 1337 Inside Guest OS I'm running nodejs server. Code is nothing but simple helloworld code found on their site http://nodejs.org/. In short I'm running server on 127.0.0.1 on 1337 Port. Now according to rule I have given, from Host Machine all the requests for 127.0.1.1:8080 should be forwarded to 127.0.0.1:1337 of Guest OS. From Host I'm doing curl http://127.0.1.1:8080 and I'm getting curl: (7) couldn't connect to host Is there something am I doing wrong? Note- Don't give me suggestion to do ssh n all. As my ISP does not provide Internal LAN so its not possible in my case. All I can do it Port Forwarding.

  In my WPF application im trying to visualize some temperature data. I have a list of temperatures for the 7 past days and want to make a point to point line diagram. My problem is with the different koordinatesystems and adjusting data to the grid. How to i correct my application so the line always is centered? As it is now it starts out centeded but if i crank up the slider to 3-4 the line goes up and above the applicationwindow.   I am trying to create a preview window for my texteditor in my blog page. I need to send the content to the server to clean up the text entered before I can preview it on the preview window. I was trying to use $.ajax({ type: method, url: url, data: values, success: LoadPageCallback(targetID), error: function(msg) { $('#' + targetID).attr('innerHTML', 'An error has occurred. Please try again.'); } }); Whenever I tried to click on the preview button it returns an XMLHTTPRequest error. The error description - Description: Request Validation has detected a potentially dangerous client input value, and processing of the request has been aborted. This value may indicate an attempt to compromise the security of your application, such as a cross-site scripting attack. You can disable request validation by setting validateRequest=false in the Page directive or in the configuration section. However, it is strongly recommended that your application explicitly check all inputs in this case. The ValidateRequest for the page is set to false. Is there a way I can set validaterequest to false for the ajax call.Please advise Thank you for reading my post.
