• Custom HTTPHandler causing caching or session issues?

  So i have a custom CMS running under .Net 3.5 written entirely in c#. The engine is optimized to render for mobile devices, but also server to normal web browsers. It also supports cookieless sessions. Great... I've chosen not to cache anything (including browser data) in order to control the rendering completely from data. This has been all good until lately. The engine implements a basic login function that simply logs the user state within a session object. The behavior is rather strange. User will click through the site no problem. Then login. The login will either go through successfully or just redisplay the login screen, suggesting a cached page being returned or redisplayed... If the login is successful the concurrent page hits will switch arbitrarily between logged in and logged out state... Also suggesting either the session state is not accessible or a cached page being returned. I have debugged the hell out of the thing.... including using fiddler and the like. When debugging the behavior disappears. Huh?   To begin I know about http://blog.kadirpekel.com/2009/11/09/facebook-connect-integration-with-spring-security/ The only problem is that it completely replaces the Form Login with Facebook Connect. I have the native form login in place, I also have Facebook Connect in place, Upon gathering user information I link it to a native account but without a password. At that point I would like to call a link or method to start process of going into the Spring Security Filter Chain. Here is the source code that works, but am trying to modify. It contains all the files I'm taking about. Now from what I understand I need to add a custom FacebookAuthenticationProvider so that my AuthenticationManager knows about it. <bean id="facebookAuthenticationProvider" class="org.springframework.security.facebook.FacebookAuthenticationProvider"> </bean> <security:authentication-manager alias="authenticationManager"> <security:authentication-provider ref="facebookAuthenticationProvider" /> </security:authentication-manager> Then within the FacebookAuthenticationProvider I would have to call an FacebookAuthenticationToken that would take my the current facebook Uid and SessionKey of the user. Then try authenticate this Token. So where does the FacebookAuthenticationFilter come into it? I'm just trying to understand the order at which these 3 files are called. As if you were trying to implement any other custom authentication. • Asterisk Manager API SIPPeers - Permission Denied

  I'm wanting to use the asterisk manager api to show the status of all my SIP lines in a PHP web interface. I thought I'd start simple and use telnet to see it working. So I created a user in /etc/asterisk/manager.conf [portal] secret = password read = all,system,call,log,verbose,command,agent,user Then telnet to localhost on port 5038 This is what I get. asterisk ~ # telnet localhost 5038 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. Asterisk Call Manager/1.0 Action: login Username: portal Secret: 8u9sdgk Events: off Response: Success Message: Authentication accepted Action: SIPPeers Response: Error Message: Permission denied Why am I getting permission denied? I thought the user has basically full access? Do I need to restart asterisk to make this work? I didn't restart it. On the other hand, I was able to log in which makes me think that the manager.conf has been reloaded as the portal user didn't exist before. Any ideas?

• socket problem with MySQL

  This is a recent problem... MySQL was working and a couple of days ago I must have done something. I deleted MySQL and tried reinstalling using the .dmg file. The mysql.sock file never gets created and I get the following error messages: Hristo$ mysql Enter password: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) I also tried stopping Apache and installing but Apache gave me an error... I don't know if this is good or bad: Hristo$ sudo apachectl stop launchctl: Error unloading: org.apache.httpd I tried the MacPorts installation as well but the socket file still didn't get created. I don't really know what to do and I don't want to reinstall Snow Leopard and start from scratch :/ I also tried installing the 32-bit version and same deal. No luck. Finally... I tried doing the source installation but when I get to the configuration step, I get the following error: -bash: ./configure: No such file or directory The file is "mysql-5.1.47-osx10.6-x86_64.tar.gz" so I think it is the proper file for source installation and yes I have a 64 bit system. I don't know what to do anymore. Any ideas? Thanks, Hristo

• Log in using Java where server's authentication could be sso or web applcation container's basic

  Hi, I have a situation where ideally I want to be able to log-in to a secure area using a Java application. I would like to make an HTTP request and check the response to see if I need to do some kind of authenication before I can actually get the response expected, instead of effectively some login page. The complication is that the server that responds will not always be the same - the user of the Java app specifies the URL - and the server may be using some kind of single sign on authentication or the web container's. I don't know the field names for the username and password fields or the action of the form, is there a simple way to obtain this kind of information from the URL? I see the URLConnection object has methods getPermission() which has a method getActions() but are not suitable, anything that might be? I guess example things I am looking to determine: Does the response require authentication? If so; what type / which servlet? e.g. j_security_check, josso single sign on, ... And then some way of authenticating the client And finally managing the state of the authenticated user for other requests Do I need to know the attributes of the login form before attemping to login? And then, is the onoly way of verifying permission to the requested resource to manually manage the cookies? Thanks in advance.

My problem now is that I would like to offer to users a function to update an existing record in SQL. As each row on this table has a unique id columne. There is a column call UID which is the primary key. It throwing this error: 'The SMTP connection failed to start [mail.somedomain.net:587]: fsockopen returned Error Number 110 and Error String 'Connection timed out'' Please what should I do to correct this error.   Working SVN repo I'm starting a git repo to interact with a svn repo. The svn repository is set and working fine, with a single commit of a basic README file in it. • Using ASP .NET Membership and Profile with MVC, how can I create a user and set it to HttpContext.Cu

  I've read the other questions on the topic of MVC membership and profiles, but I'm missing something. I implemented a custom Profile object in code as described by Joel here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/426609/asp-net-membership-how-to-assign-profile-values I can't get it to work when I'm creating a new user, however. When I do this: Membership.CreateUser(userName, password); Roles.AddUserToRole(userName, "MyRole"); the user is created and added to a role in the database, but HttpContext.Current.User is still empty, and Membership.GetUser() returns null, so this (from Joel's code) doesn't work: static public AccountProfile CurrentUser { get { return (AccountProfile) (ProfileBase.Create(Membership.GetUser().UserName)); } } AccountProfile.CurrentUser.FullName = "Snoopy"; I've tried calling Membership.GetUser(userName) and setting Profile properties that way, but the set properties remain empty, and calling AccountProfile.CurrentUser(userName).Save() doesn't put anything in the database. I've also tried indicating that the user is valid & logged in, by calling Membership.ValidateUser, FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie, etc., but the current user is still null or anonymous (depending on the state of my browser cookies). I have the feeling I'm missing some essential piece of understanding about how Membership, Authentication, and Profiles fit together. Do I have to do a round trip before the current User will be populated? Any advice would be much appreciated.

• WebSVN with VisualSVN Server, anyone gotten authentication to work?

  I have a VisualSVN Server installed on a Windows server, serving several repositories. Since the web-viewer built into VisualSVN server is a minimalistic subversion browser, I'd like to install WebSVN on top of my repositories. The problem, however, is that I can't seem to get authentication to work. Ideally I'd like my current repository authentication as specified in VisualSVN to work with WebSVN, so that though I see all the repository names in WebSVN, I can't actually browse into them without the right credentials. By visiting the cached copy of the topmost link on this google query you can see what I've found so far that looks promising. (the main blog page seems to have been destroyed, domain of the topmost page I'm referring to is the-wizzard.de) There I found some php functions I could tack onto one of the php files in WebSVN. I followed the modifications there, but all I succeeded in doing was make WebSVN ask me for a username and password and no matter what I input, it won't let me in. Unfortunately, php and apache is largely black magic to me. So, has anyone successfully integrated WebSVN with VisualSVN hosted repositories?

But when I did an edit to a file and then do a 'git commit -a -m "test"' and then do a git push.   I'm working on a simply password strength checker and i can not success applying regular expressions. In different resources different kinds of regular expressions are defined. i also find javascript regular expressions but had some problems to adapt. First, these are the regular expressions i need for JAVA: at least one lower case letter at least one upper case letter at least one number at least three numbers at least one special character at least two special characters both letters and numbers both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters My goal is not being a regular expression expert i just want to use the parts i need.If you direct me good tutorials which discusses above for java, will be appreciated. Second, in this link some of them are mentioned but i'm getting problems to apply them. here does not catch the lower case letter (my pass: A5677a) if (passwd.matches("(?=.*[a-z])")) // [verified] at least one lower case letter {Score = Score+5;} Also here i'm getting error : illegal escape character. if (passwd.matches("(?=.*\d)")) // [verified] at least one number Finally, are these expressions all different in different kind of programming or script languages?

• What is causing this OverflowError in Django?

  I'm using a normal ModelForm.save() to create an object, and this exception comes up. It worked fine before until I added commit_manually, transaction.rollback() and transaction.commit() to my view. Has anyone else ran into this? Is this because of sqlite3?   I'm attempting to include an install of SQL Server 2008 Express w/Adv. Services with an installation package, but am having a heck of a time getting the installation to complete. Typically, this installation will take place on brand-new servers that get shipped to new customers, but this won't always be the case: Sometimes, the installation will take place on machines already in use, and so I've been told the installer has to work for XP x86 and x64 and Win 7 x32 and x64. The command line I'm passing in is: setup.exe /ACTION=INSTALL /INSTANCENAME="MSSQLSERVER" /HIDECONSOLE /QS /FEATURES="SQLENGINE" "REPLICATION" "FULLTEXT" "RS" "BIDS" "SSMS" "SNAC_SDK" "OCS" /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD="aStrongPassword" /NPENABLED=1 /TCPENABLED=1 /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS="%USERDOMAIN%\Administrator" SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\Network Service" (This is only my most recent attempt, in which I used a SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS value that I saw in a posting elsewhere on this site. I've tried lots of combinations from various sites.)
