  • best way to statistically detect anomalies in data

    - by reinier
    Hi, our webapp collects huge amount of data about user actions, network business, database load, etc etc etc All data is stored in warehouses and we have quite a lot of interesting views on this data. if something odd happens chances are, it shows up somewhere in the data. However, to manually detect if something out of the ordinary is going on, one has to continually look through this data, and look for oddities. My question: what is the best way to detect changes in dynamic data which can be seen as 'out of the ordinary'. Are bayesan filters (I've seen these mentioned when reading about spam detection) the way to go? Any pointers would be great! EDIT: To clarify the data for example shows a daily curve of database load. This curve typically looks similar to the curve from yesterday In time this curve might change slowly. It would be nice that if the curve from day to day changes say within some perimeters, a warning could go off. R

  • File transfer eating alot of CPU

    - by Dan C.
    I'm trying to transfer a file over a IHttpHandler, the code is pretty simple. However when i start a single transfer it uses about 20% of the CPU. If i were to scale this to 20 simultaneous transfers the CPU is very high. Is there a better way I can be doing this to keep the CPU lower? the client code just sends over chunks of the file 64KB at a time. public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { if (context.Request.Params["secretKey"] == null) { } else { accessCode = context.Request.Params["secretKey"].ToString(); } if (accessCode == "test") { string fileName = context.Request.Params["fileName"].ToString(); byte[] buffer = Convert.FromBase64String(context.Request.Form["data"]); string fileGuid = context.Request.Params["smGuid"].ToString(); string user = context.Request.Params["user"].ToString(); SaveFile(fileName, buffer, user); } } public void SaveFile(string fileName, byte[] buffer, string user) { string DirPath = @"E:\Filestorage\" + user + @"\"; if (!Directory.Exists(DirPath)) { Directory.CreateDirectory(DirPath); } string FilePath = @"E:\Filestorage\" + user + @"\" + fileName; FileStream writer = new FileStream(FilePath, File.Exists(FilePath) ? FileMode.Append : FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write, FileShare.ReadWrite); writer.Write(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); writer.Close(); }

  • XML comments on delegate declared events

    - by Matt Whitfield
    I am visiting some old code, and there are quite a few events declared with delegates manually rather than using EventHandler<T>, like this: /// <summary> /// Delegate for event Added /// </summary> /// <param name="index">Index of the item</param> /// <param name="item">The item itself</param> public delegate void ItemAdded(int index, T item); /// <summary> /// Added is raised whenever an item is added to the collection /// </summary> public event ItemAdded Added; All well and good, until I come to use sandcastle to document the library, because it then can't find any XML comments for the private Added field that is generated by the event declaration. I want to try and sort that out, but what I would like to do is either: Get sandcastle to ignore the auto-generated private field without telling it to ignore all private fields entirely or Get XML comments generated for the private field Is there any way of achieving this without re-factoring the code to look like this: /// <summary> /// Delegate for event <see cref="Added"/> /// </summary> /// <param name="index">Index of the item</param> /// <param name="item">The item itself</param> public delegate void ItemAdded(int index, T item); /// <summary> /// Private storage for the event firing delegate for the <see cref="Added"/> event /// </summary> private ItemAdded _added; /// <summary> /// Added is raised whenever an item is added to the collection /// </summary> public event ItemAdded Added { add { _added += value; } remove { _added -= value; } }

  • Google Toolbox For Mac with Core Data on iPhone results in error

    - by JaanusSiim
    I have set up my project for using Google Toolbox for Mac as described on official wiki. And everything is working as expected. For core data usage I have created a 'database' class that uses for final application SQLite storage (this is done based on Xcode template code). For unit tests I have created separate init method for 'database' to use in memory storage (storage url is [NSURL URLWithString:@"memory://store"] and type NSInMemoryStoreType). Without adding my model file (*.xcdatamodel) to unit tests target, test fail in expected place with message: executeFetchRequest:error: A fetch request must have an entity. If I add model file to the test target, then test is executed as expected (core data part looks OK), but after tests execution I get: RunIPhoneUnitTest.sh: line 123: 9487 Segmentation fault "$TARGET_BUILD_DIR/$EXECUTABLE_PATH" -RegisterForSystemEvents Command /bin/sh failed with exit code 139 This problem does not looks directly related to core data, but only happens if model file is added to target. Any pointers on resolving this issue would be appreciated!

  • Problem catching OnClick event using HTMLDocumentEvents2 in a BHO

  • MS Dynamics CRM trapping .NET error before I can handle it

    - by clifgriffin
    This is a fun one. I have written a custom search page that provides faster, more user friendly searches than the default Contacts view and also allows searching of Leads and Contacts simultaneously. It uses GridViews bound to SqlDataSources that query filtered views. I'm sure someone will complain that I'm not using the web services for this, but this is just the design decision we made. These GridViews live in UpdatePanels to enable very slick AJAX updates upon search. It's all working great. Nearly ready to be deployed, except for one thing: Some long running searches are triggering an uncatchable SQL timeout exception. [SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.] at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.ConsumeMetaData() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_MetaData() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.FinishExecuteReader(SqlDataReader ds, RunBehavior runBehavior, String resetOptionsString) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReaderTds(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, String method, DbAsyncResult result) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, String method) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior, String method) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteDbDataReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbCommand.System.Data.IDbCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.FillInternal(DataSet dataset, DataTable[] datatables, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, String srcTable) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceView.ExecuteSelect(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments) at System.Web.UI.DataSourceView.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments, DataSourceViewSelectCallback callback) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataBoundControl.PerformSelect() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.EnsureDataBound() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.CompositeDataBoundControl.CreateChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.EnsureChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) I found that CRM is doing a server.transfer to capture this error because my UpdatePanels started throwing JavaSript errors when this error would occur. I was only able to get the full error message by using the JavaScript debugger in IE. Having found this error, I thought the solution would be simple. I just needed to wrap my databind calls in try/catch blocks to capture any errors. Unfortunately it seems CRM's IIS configuration has the magic ability to capture this error before it ever gets back to my code. Using the debugger I never see it. It never gets to my catch blocks, but it's clearly happening in the SQL Data Source which is clearly (by the stack trace) being triggered by my GridView bind. Any ideas on this? It's driving me crazy. Code Behind (with some irrelevant functions omitted): protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { //Initialize some stuff this.bannerOracle = new OdbcConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["OracleConnectionString"].ConnectionString); //Prospect default HideProspects(); HideProspectAddressColumn(); //Contacts default HideContactAddressColumn(); //Default error messages gvContacts.EmptyDataText = "Sad day. • Switch between multiple views while respecting orientation

    - by zoul
    Hello! I have an MVC application with a single model and several views (something like skins). I want the user to be able to switch the views and I can’t get it working with interface orientation. The most simple approach looks like this: - (void) switchToADifferentView: (UIView*) newView { // self is a descendant of UIViewController self.view = newView; } This does not work because the incoming view does not get rotated according to current orientation (until the next orientation change, test case). Is there a way to force the orientation on a view? It looks like the system is trying really hard to keep the interface controls for itself. (Or is it as simple as setting the right transform by hand?) I figured I’d better not switch the views directly and switch controllers instead. This makes sense, as it makes the initial code simpler. But how do I switch controllers that have no “navigation relation” between them? I guess I could use presentModalViewController:, but that seems like a hack. Same goes for navigation controller. If I exchange the controllers by hand, I get the wrong orientation again: - (void) switchToAController: (id) incoming { [currentController.view removeFromSuperview]; [window addSubview:incoming.view]; // does not respect current orientation } Now how the heck do I simply exchange the current controller for another one? Again, the controllers are something like “skins” operating above a shared model, so it really makes no sense to pretend that skin A is a “modal” dialog above skin B or that they’re a part of a navigation stack.

  • Binding UpdateSourceTrigger=Explicit, updates source at program startup

    - by GTD
    I have following code: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <TextBox Text="{Binding Path=Name, Mode=OneWayToSource, UpdateSourceTrigger=Explicit, FallbackValue=default text}" KeyUp="TextBox_KeyUp" x:Name="textBox1"/> </Grid> public partial class Window1 : Window { public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void TextBox_KeyUp(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Key == Key.Enter) { BindingExpression exp = this.textBox1.GetBindingExpression(TextBox.TextProperty); exp.UpdateSource(); } } } public class ViewModel { public string Name { set { Debug.WriteLine("setting name: " + value); } } } public partial class App : Application { protected override void OnStartup(StartupEventArgs e) { base.OnStartup(e); Window1 window = new Window1(); window.DataContext = new ViewModel(); window.Show(); } } I want to update source only when "Enter" key is pressed in textbox. This works fine. However binding updates source at program startup. How can I avoid this? Am I missing something?

  • SQLite as an App Queue, Exclusive Row Lock?

    - by ScSub
    I am considering using SQLite as a "job queue container", and was wondering how I could do so, using custom C# (with ADO.NET) to work the database. If this was SQL Server, I would setup a serializable transaction to make sure the parent row and child rows were exclusively mine until I was done. I'm not sure how that would work in SQLite, can anyone offer any assistance? Or if there are any other existing implementations of message queueing with SQLite, I'd appreciate any pointers in that direction as well. Thanks!

  • Does using ReadDirectoryChangesW require administrator rights?

    - by Alex Jenter
    The MSDN says that using ReadDirectoryChangesW implies the calling process having the Backup and Restore priviliges. Does this mean that only process launched under administrator account will work correctly? I've tried the following code, it fails to enable the required privileges when running as a restricted user. void enablePrivileges() { enablePrivilege(SE_BACKUP_NAME); enablePrivilege(SE_RESTORE_NAME); } void enablePrivilege(LPCTSTR name) { HANDLE hToken; DWORD status; if (::OpenProcessToken(::GetCurrentProcess(), TOKEN_ADJUST_PRIVILEGES, &hToken)) { TOKEN_PRIVILEGES tp = { 1 }; if( ::LookupPrivilegeValue(NULL, name, &tp.Privileges[0].Luid) ) { tp.Privileges[0].Attributes = SE_PRIVILEGE_ENABLED; BOOL result = ::AdjustTokenPrivileges(hToken, FALSE, &tp, 0, NULL, NULL); verify (result != FALSE); status = ::GetLastError(); } ::CloseHandle(hToken); } } Am I doing something wrong? Is there any workaround for using ReadDirectoryChangesW from a non-administrator user account? It seems that the .NET's FileSystemWatcher can do this. Thanks!

  • iPhone Text entry with completion and DONE button (not search)

    - by Adam Jack
    Using iPhone SDK 3.0, I wish to allow text entry with (optional) completion options that appear as typing is occurring, i.e. also allowing freeformat entry. As such I am using a UISearchBar (which has the text change events) and a UISearchDisplayController to present options. The problems is I want the DONE button to say DONE and not SEARCH, however I cannot find a way to set that. Clearly I feel I am missing something, or Interface Builder of the SDK API would have some property to set. I have seen other apps (in the store) that have achieved the result I want (free format entry, completion, DONE button) so maybe there is an alternative approach I am missing. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  • Why is a fixed size buffers (arrays) must be unsafe?

    - by brickner
    Let's say I want to have a value type of 7 bytes (or 3 or 777). I can define it like that: public struct Buffer71 { public byte b0; public byte b1; public byte b2; public byte b3; public byte b4; public byte b5; public byte b6; } A simpler way to define it is using a fixed buffer public struct Buffer72 { public unsafe fixed byte bs[7]; } Of course the second definition is simpler. The problem lies with the unsafe keyword that must be provided for fixed buffers. I understand that this is implemented using pointers and hence unsafe. My question is why does it have to be unsafe? Why can't C# provide arbitrary constant length arrays and keep them as a value type instead of making it a C# reference type array or unsafe buffers?

  • Can someone help me with this StructureMap error i'm getting?

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, I'm trying to wire up a simple ASP.NET MVC2 controller class to my own LoggingService. Code compiles fine, but I get the following runtime error :- {"StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily System.Type, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"} what the? mscorlib ???? Here's some sample code of my wiring up .. protected void Application_Start() { MvcHandler.DisableMvcResponseHeader = true; BootstrapStructureMap(); ControllerBuilder.Current.SetControllerFactory( new StructureMapControllerFactory()); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } private static void BootstrapStructureMap() { ObjectFactory.Initialize(x => x.For<ILoggingService>().Use<Log4NetLoggingService>()); } and finally the controller, simplified for this question ... public class SearchController : Controller { private readonly ILoggingService _log { get; set; } public SearchController(ILoggingService loggingService) : base(loggingService) { // Error checking removed for brevity. _log = loggingService; _log.Tag = "SearchController"; } ... } and the structuremap factory (main method), also way simplified for this question... protected override IController GetControllerInstance(RequestContext requestContext, Type controllerType) { IController result = null; if (controllerType != null) { try { result = ObjectFactory.GetInstance(controllerType) as Controller; } catch (Exception exception) { if (exception is StructureMapException) { Debug.WriteLine(ObjectFactory.WhatDoIHave()); } } } } hmm. I just don't get it. StructureMap version 2.6.1.0 ASP.NET MVC 2. Any ideas?

  • dynamic array pointer to binary file

    - by Yijinsei
    Hi guys, Know this might be rather basic, but I been trying to figure out how to one after create a dynamic array such as double* data = new double[size]; be used as a source of data to be kept in to a binary file such as ofstream fs("data.bin",ios:binary"); fs.write(reinterpret_cast<const char *> (data),size*sizeof(double)); When I finish writing, I attempt to read the file through double* data = new double[size]; ifstream fs("data.bin",ios:binary"); fs.read(reinterpret_cast<char*> (data),size*sizeof(double)); However I seem to encounter a run time error when reading the data. Do you guys have any advice how i should attempt to write a dynamic array using pointers passed from other methods to be stored in binary files?

  • Utilizing Windows Handles without a forum.

    - by Scott Chamberlain
    I have a program that needs to sit in the background and when a user connects to a RDP session it will do some stuff then launch a program. when the program is closed it will do some housekeeping and logoff the session. The current way I am doing it is like this I have the terminal server launch this application. I have it set as a windows forms application and my code is this public static void Main() { //Do some setup work Process proc = new Process(); //setup the process proc.Start(); proc.WaitForExit(); //Do some housecleaning NativeMethods.ExitWindowsEx(0, 0); } I really like this because there is no item in the taskbar and there is nothing showing up in alt-tab. However to do this I gave up access to functions like void WndProc(ref Message m) So Now I can't listen to windows messages (Like WTS_REMOTE_DISCONNECT or WTS_SESSION_LOGOFF) and do not have a handle to use for for bool WTSRegisterSessionNotification(IntPtr hWnd, int dwFlags); I would like my code to be more robust so it will do the housecleaning if the user logs off or disconnects from the session before he closes the program. Any reccomendations on how I can have my cake and eat it too?

  • Json HTTP Module stream issue

    - by Justin
    Hey, I have an HTTP Module that I use to clean up the JSON returned by my web service (see http://www.codeproject.com/KB/webservices/ASPNET_JSONP.aspx?msg=3400287#xx3400287xx for an example of this.) Basically it relates to calling cross-domain JSON web services from javascript. There is this JsonHttpModule which uses a JsonResponseFilter Stream class to write out the JSON and the overloaded Write method is supposed to wrap the name of the callback function around the JSON, otherwise the JSON errors out as needing a label. However, if the JSON is really long, the Write method in the Stream class is called multiple times, causing the callback function to incorrectly get inserted midway through the JSON. Is there a way in the Stream class to wrap the callback function around the stream at the end or to specify that it write all of the JSON in 1 Write method instead of in chunks?? Here's where it calls the JsonResponseFilter in the JsonHttpModule: public void OnReleaseRequestState(object sender, EventArgs e) { HttpApplication app = (HttpApplication)sender; if (!_Apply(app.Context.Request)) return; // apply response filter to conform to JSONP app.Context.Response.Filter = new JsonResponseFilter(app.Context.Response.Filter, app.Context); } Here's the Write method in the JsonResponseFilter Stream class that gets called multiple times: public override void Write(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { var b1 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(_context.Request.Params["callback"] + "("); _responseStream.Write(b1, 0, b1.Length); _responseStream.Write(buffer, offset, count); var b2 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(");"); _responseStream.Write(b2, 0, b2.Length); } Thanks for any help! • question regarding templatization of virtual function

    - by jan
    Hi, I am new to this forum and sorry If I am repeating this question. I know that you cannot templatize the virtual function and I do understand the concept behind it. But I still need a way to get across some errors I am getting it. I am able to make my stuff work but it doesn't look to me. Here's the deal, I have class called System, #include "Vector.h" class System { virtual void VectorToLocal(Vector<T>& global_dir,const Vector<T>* global_pos = 0) const = 0; }; class UnresolvedSystem : public System { virtual void VectorToLocal(Vector<T>& global_dir,const Vector<T>* global_pos = 0) const { //do something } }; In Vector.h tenplate<typename T> class Vector { //some functions }; See now I want to templatize VectorToLocal in system.h to take just Vector, but I cannot do it as it is a virtual function. I want a work around. I know I can have VectorToLocal take Vector, Vector etc as arguments. But I do not want to do it. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jan

  • Can addition of an ActionListener be short? Can I add arguments to the actionPerformed?

    - by Roman
    I have a big table containing a button in each cell. These buttons are very similar and do almost the same. If I add an action listener to every button in this way: tmp.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) { proposition = proposition + action; SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { updatePropositionPanel(); } }); } }); Actually, every action listener differ from all others by the value of the action. proposition and updatePropositionPanel are a field and a method of the class. First i thought that I can make it shorter if I do not use inner classes. So, I decided to program a new ActionListener class. But than I realized that in this case "proposition" will not be visible to the instances of this class. Then I decided to add the actionPerformed method to the current class and do that: addActionListener(this). But than I realized that I do not know how give arguments to the actionPerformed method. So, how does it work. Can I add an action listener in a short and elegent way?

  • PInvokeStackImbalance -- C# with offreg.dll ( windows ddk7 )

    - by user301185
    I am trying to create an offline registry in memory using the offreg.dll provided in the windows ddk 7 package. You can find out more information on the offreg.dll here: MSDN Currently, while attempted to create the hive using ORCreateHive, I receive the following error: "Managed Debugging Assistant 'PInvokeStackImbalance' has detected a problem. This is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature. Check that the calling convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target unmanaged signature." Here is the offreg.h file containing ORCreateHive: typedef PVOID ORHKEY; typedef ORHKEY *PORHKEY; VOID ORAPI ORGetVersion( __out PDWORD pdwMajorVersion, __out PDWORD pdwMinorVersion ); DWORD ORAPI OROpenHive ( __in PCWSTR lpHivePath, __out PORHKEY phkResult ); DWORD ORAPI ORCreateHive ( __out PORHKEY phkResult ); DWORD ORAPI ORCloseHive ( __in ORHKEY Handle ); The following is my C# code attempting to call the .dll and create the pointer for future use. using System.Runtime.InteropServices; namespace WindowsFormsApplication6 { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } [DllImport("offreg.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, EntryPoint = "ORCreateHive", SetLastError=true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern IntPtr ORCreateHive2(); private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { IntPtr myHandle = ORCreateHive2(); } catch (Exception r) { MessageBox.Show(r.ToString()); } } } } I have been able to create pointers in the past with no issue utilizing user32.dll, icmp.dll, etc. However, I am having no such luck with offreg.dll. Thank you.

  • Enable intellisense for imported tlb in VC++ 6

    - by Kevin Day
    We have a library for a complex COM object that we are importing using the following: #import "library.tlb" this works fine, VC++ compiles a tli file and somehow that gets magically included in the build process, so code written against the tlb works. However, intellisense doesn't pick up the library entries. This is a crazy complex COM component, and having intellisense would help immensely. Can anyone provide some pointers on how to get intellisense to work properly with this? I have tried deleting the .ncb file, and that had no effect.

  • Bitbanging a PIO on Coldfire/ucLinux

    - by G Forty
    Here's the problem: I need to program some hardware via 2 pins of the PIO (1 clock, 1 data). Timing constraints are tight - 10ms clock cycle time. All this, of course, whilst I maintain very high level services (CAN bus, TCP/IP). The downstream unit also ACKS by asserting a PIO pin, configured as an input, high. So this loop has to both read and write. I need to send 16 bits in the serial stream. Is there an established way to do this sort of thing or should I simply get the hardware guys to add a PIC or somesuch. I'd much prefer to avoid exotics like RTAI extensions at this stage. I did once see a reference to user-mode IO which implied a possible interrupt driven driver but lost track of it. Any pointers welcomed.

  • org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException Within GWT application using hibernate through gilead

    - by molleman
    Hello Guys, i am working on a project for college that uses GWT,Hibernate and Gilead. Basically for the moment users should be able to add friends and remove them. also a user can see if his or her friends are online or not. my trouble is that when i add a friend that is already related to another friend i get this error org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException: a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session: [com.example.client.YFUser#4] i have a service class public class TestServiceImpl extends PersistentRemoteService implements TestService { this is my service class for my gwt application. my toruble is here with my implmentation class of my serivce in this method that is called when a user presses add friend button on the client-side public void addYFUserFriend(String userName){ //this retrieves the current user YFUser user = (YFUser)getSession().getAttribute(SESSION_USER); Session session = com.example.server.HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession(); session.beginTransaction(); YFUser friend = (YFUser) session.createQuery("select u FROM YFUser u where u.username = :username").setParameter("username", userName).uniqueResult(); System.out.println("user " + friend.getUsername() + " Found"); user.getFriends().add(friend); friend.getBefriended().add(user); session.update(user); session.update(friend); session.getTransaction().commit(); } a scenerio : user1 adds user2 as a friend. this works fine. then user3 adds user2 and the exeception is thrown. any ideas why and where my logic is going wrong Ok so i have changed my code, and i have removed all the getCurrentASession() calls and replaced with openSession() call which are closed at the appropiate point, now the error i am getting is com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.UnexpectedException: Service method 'public abstract void com.example.client.TestService.addYFUserFriend(java.lang.String)' threw an unexpected exception: org.hibernate.NonUniqueResultException: query did not return a unique result: 3

  • combining two select statements to return one result

    - by DalivDali
    I need to combine the results for two select queries from two view tables, from which I am performing calculations. Perhaps there is an easier way to perform a query using if...else - any pointers? Essentially I need to divide everything by 'ar.time_ratio' under the condition in sql query 1, and ignore that for query 2. SELECT gs.traffic_date, gs.domain_group, gs.clicks/ar.time_ratio as 'Scaled_clicks', gs.visitors/ar.time_ratio as 'scaled_visitors', gs.revenue/ar.time_ratio as 'scaled_revenue', (gs.revenue/gs.clicks)/ar.time_ratio as 'scaled_average_cpc', (gs.clicks)/(gs.visitors)/ar.time_ratio as 'scaled_ctr', gs.average_rpm/ar.time_ratio as 'scaled_rpm', (((gs.revenue)/(gs.visitors))/ar.time_ratio)*1000 as "Ecpm" FROM group_stats gs, v_active_ratio ar WHERE ar.group_id=gs.domain_group and SELECT gs.traffic_date, gs.domain_group, gs.clicks, gs.visitors, gs.revenue, (gs.revenue/gs.clicks) as 'average_cpc', (gs.clicks)/(gs.visitors) as 'average_ctr', gs.average_rpm, ((gs.revenue)/(gs.visitors))*1000 as "Ecpm" FROM group_stats gs, v_active_ratio ar where not ar.group_id=gs.domain_group

  • why pointer to pointer is needed to allocate memory in function

    - by skydoor
    Hi I have a segmentation fault in the code below, but after I changed it to pointer to pointer, it is fine. Could anybody give me any reason? void memory(int * p, int size) { try{ p = (int *) malloc(size*sizeof(int)); } catch( exception& e) { cout<<e.what()<<endl; } } it does not work in the main function as blow int *p = 0; memory(p, 10); for(int i = 0 ; i < 10; i++) p[i] = i; however, it works like this . void memory(int ** p, int size) { `//pointer to pointer` try{ *p = (int *) malloc(size*sizeof(int)); } catch( exception& e) { cout<<e.what()<<endl; } } int main() { int *p = 0; memory(&p, 10); //get the address of the pointer for(int i = 0 ; i < 10; i++) p[i] = i; for(int i = 0 ; i < 10; i++) cout<<*(p+i)<<" "; return 0; }

  • Java Generic Casting Type Mismatch

    - by Kay
    public class MaxHeap<T extends Comparable<T>> implements Heap<T>{ private T[] heap; private int lastIndex; public void main(String[] args){ int i; T[] arr = {1,3,4,5,2}; //ERROR HERE ******* foo } public T[] Heapsort(T[]anArray, int n){ // build initial heap T[]sortedArray = anArray; for (int i = n-1; i< 0; i--){ //assert: the tree rooted at index is a semiheap heapRebuild(anArray, i, n); //assert: the tree rooted at index is a heap } //sort the heap array int last = n-1; //invariant: Array[0..last] is a heap, //Array[last+1..n-1] is sorted for (int j=1; j<n-1;j++) { sortedArray[0]=sortedArray[last]; last--; heapRebuild(anArray, 0, last); } return sortedArray; } protected void heapRebuild(T[ ] items, int root, int size){ foo } } The error is on the line with "T[arr] = {1,3,4,5,2}" Eclispe complains that there is a: "Type mismatch: cannot convert from int to T" I've tried to casting nearly everywhere but to no avail.A simple way out would be to not use generics but instead just ints but that's sadly not an option. I've got to find a way to resolve the array of ints "{1,3,4,5,2}" into an array of T so that the rest of my code will work smoothly.
