• [iPhone] UIScrollView notifications

  Hi, I'm coding an app that works much like Apple's Weather.app: There's a UIPageControl at the bottom and a UIScrollView in the middle of the screen. In my code, I implemented the - (void)scrollViewDidEndDecelerating:(UIScrollView *)scrollView method to figure out when the user did move to a new page. If they move to a new page, I load the adjacent pages' data, as to make further page-switching faster. (In one of Apple's examples, the - (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)sender is used, but that causes my app to shortly hang when loading a new page, so it's not suitable.) That code works very well. I'm using scrollRectToVisible:: to programmatically scroll inside the scrollview when the user clicks the UIPageControl. The problem is that the scrollRectToVisible: doesn't post a notification to the UIScrollViewDelegate when it's done scrolling - so the code responsible for loading adjacent pages never get's called when using the UIPageControl. Is there any way to make the UIScrollView notify its delegate when it gets called by the scrollRectToVisible: method? Or will I have to use threads in order to prevent my app from freezing? • Which cast am I using?

• Programming image maps

  Hello, I am looking for a javascript/jquery solution to build a map with selectable tracks. It will consist of area's map (image) with some river routes for boats that have to be selectable - route have to be made clearer on mouse hover and after user clicks on a route a popup window should emerge. Basically I am just looking for a solution for this type of 'map'. Maybe there are some jquery widgets/plugins that would ease the work ? I don't know where to start actually..   Hi. I have a problem using C# Webbrowser control. the problem is with the event DocumentComplited. Usually the event works fine. the problem is with this page:http://www.voiproblem.com/emulators/Netgear/WGR614v6/fw_forward.html when I (automatically) press on "add" the control navigates to:http://www.voiproblem.com/emulators/Netgear/WGR614v6/pforward.html. but it never firing the DocumentComplited event. I build a simple application that does the same and there it works fine. • iPhone static library Clang/LLVM error: non_lazy_symbol_pointers

  After several hours of experimentation, I've managed to reduce the problem to the following example (C++): extern "C" void foo(); struct test { ~test() { } }; void doTest() { test t; // 1 foo(); // 2 } This is being compiled for iOS devices in XCode 4.2, using the provided Clang compiler (Apple LLVM compiler 3.0) and the iOS 5.0 SDK. The project is configured as a Cocoa Touch Static Library, and "Enable Linking With Shared Libraries" is set to No because I'm building an AIR native extension. The function foo is defined in another external library. (In my actual project, this would be any of the C API functions defined by Adobe for use in AIR native extensions.) When attempting to compile this code, I get back the error: FATAL:incompatible feature used: section type non_lazy_symbol_pointers (must specify "-dynamic" to be used) clang: error: assembler command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) The error goes away if I comment out either of the lines marked 1 or 2 above, or if I change the build setting "Enable Linking With Shared Libraries" to Yes. (However, if I change the build setting, then I get multiple ld warning: unexpected srelocation type 9 warnings when linking the library into the final project, and the application crashes when running on the device.) The build error also goes away if I remove the destructor from test. So: Is this a bug in Clang? Am I missing some all-important and undocumented build setting? The interaction between an externally-provided function and a struct with a destructor is very peculiar, to say the least.

  I am passing an iVar into a function. The iVar is a double. The value of the iVar inside the function is correct, but the value of the iVar outside the function is not changed. This must have something to do with the way that I am receiving the iVar into the function. How do I pass a double iVar in so that its value is changed in the object and not only in the function? I do the same thing with pointers and the results are as expected, so I think I am not understanding scalar argument passing in c/objective-c.

  I've seen posts here on how to make a dictionary that has multiple values per key, like one of the solutions presented in this link: Multi Value Dictionary it seems that I have to use a List< as the value for the keys, so that a key can store multiple values. the solution in the link is fine if you want to add values. But my problem now is how to remove specific values from a single key.   Can someone explain me why this code compiles and runs fine, despite the fact that SortedSet is an interface and not a concrete class: public static void main(String[] args) { Integer[] nums = {4, 7, 8, 14, 45, 33}; List<Integer> numList = Arrays.asList(nums); TreeSet<Integer> numSet = new TreeSet<Integer>(); numSet.addAll(numList); SortedSet<Integer> sSet = numSet.subSet(5, 20); sSet.add(17); System.out.println(sSet); } It prints normally the result: [7, 8, 14, 17] Furthermore, my wonder is heightened by the fact that the SortedSet cannot be instansiated (expectedly). This line does not compile: SortedSet<Integer> sSet = new SortedSet<Integer>(); However, if I try the code: public static void main(String[] args) { Integer[] nums = {4, 7, 8, 14, 45, 33}; List<Integer> numList = Arrays.asList(nums); numList.add(56); System.out.println(numList); } it throws an UnsupportedOperationException. I reckon, this comes from the fact that List is an interface and cannot be handled as a concrete class. What is true about SortedSet?

• How to draw a circle in java with a radius and points around the edge

  Hi, I'm really stuck on how to go about programming this. I need to draw a circle within a JFrame with a radius and points around the circumference. i can mathematically calculate how to find the coordinates of the point around the edge but i cant seem to be able to program the circle. I am currently using a Ellipse2D method but that doesn't seem to work and doesn't return a radius, as under my understanding, it doesn't draw the circle from the center rather from a starting coordinate using a height and width.   Hi, I want to programmtically detect the state of movie currently being played in Windows Media Player. i..e if the movie is maximized I need to find that it is maximized and put the word "MAXIMIZED" in text file, if the movie is paused I need to capture PAUSED in text file, if movie is stopped I need to capture STOPPED in text file. • -sizeWithFont Functions Differently on Device

  So I am seemingly encountering some strange behavior when using NSString's -sizeWithFont family of method calls depending on whether or not I'm invoking it on the iPhone Simulator or an actual device. Simply enough, when the receiver of the -sizeWithFont method call is nil, the resulting CGSize passed back on the Simulator is {0, 0}. However, on the device, it is the size of the bounding rectangle I specified in the method call. See the following log statements: Simulator: someString: (null) someStringSize: {0, 0} Device: someString: (null) someStringSize: {185, 3.40282e+38} The behavior on the Simulator is what I would expect. Not that this issue is difficult to circumvent, but 1) I'm a little confused why this family of functions would behave differently on the Simulator and an actual device, and 2) why does calling a method on a nil receiving return a particular result? Thanks for any pointers or insight you guys can provide! EDIT: I suppose I should mention that I'm building against the 3.1 SDK.

• CF - How to get mouse position when ContextMenu pops up ??

  I have a problem i cannot solve. In my view (that shows a map) i created a contextMenu. When context menu is invoked i need to get the position where the user has clicked on the map. Here is my problem: In the view i already have onMouseDown event that gets me the coordinates where the user clicked. private void MapView_MouseDown(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { this.lastMouseDownX = e.X; this.lastMouseDownY = e.Y; } When the contextMenu is invoked i need the same data, but the problem is that contextMenu only has EventArgs that dont keep the data i need. Furthermore ... contextMenu is invoked when user presses and holds mouse for a second and when its invoked the code does not enter onMouseDown event ! It just goes into popup event on my context menu.... I tried putting this in my popup event, but the coordinates are not ok. • Android app unexpectedly quitted when I closed the bluetooth serversocket or bluetooth socket

  The android app quitted without any warning and error when bluetoothServersocket.close() called in the main thread while bluetoothServersocket.accept(); was blocked for incoming connections in another thread. • Using an EJB inside a JAX-RS resource class in RestEasy?

  I would like to have the following kind of resource class work when deployed under RestEasy in JBoss 6: @Path("Something") public class Foo { @EJB private SomeService service @GET public Object frobnicate() { assert service != null; // JBoss blows up here return result; } } Two questions: It is a limitation of RestEasy, not of the Java EE specification, right, that RestEasy can't inject anything annotated with @EJB? What have people done to work around this limitation? My developers are about to surge forward with hard-coded JNDI lookups (e.g. context.lookup(someHardCodedNameHere)) because no one can find a workaround to this specification violation at the present time. I really want to avoid this. Lastly, I've looked at using CDI, but the story here isn't much better as RestEasy and CDI still aren't talking to each other. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  I have created a FLV video player using the AS3 flash.media.Video object (not the FLV playback component) and I am trying to listen for meta events and Cue Points embedded in the FLV video but I am not receiving any when I trace the movie. The cue points are not being created dynamically, they are in the FLV video.   I loaded 83 rows from my CSV file, but when I try to update the SQLite database I get 0 rows... I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. • How to transform a vector<int> into a string?

  I am trying to pass a value from C++ to TCL. As I cannot pass pointers without the use of some complicated modules, I was thinking of converting a vector to a char array and then passing this as a null terminated string (which is relatively easy). I have a vector as follows: 12, 32, 42, 84 which I want to convert into something like: "12 32 42 48" The approach I am thinking of is to use an iterator to iterate through the vector and then convert each integer into its string representation and then add it into a char array (which is dynamically created initially by passing the size of the vector). Is this the right way or is there a function that already does this?

• Cakephp, i18n, Retrieve translation records for associated models

  Quoting from the cakephp Book (ver 1.3): Note that only fields of the model you are directly doing find on will be translated. Models attached via associations won't be translated because triggering callbacks on associated models is currently not supported. Has anyone come up with a solution for this??? If not could you give me some pointers concerning the following simple scenario. I have 2 models: Project, Category. Project HABTM Category I have properly set up i18n table and I have a few entries in the db, all translated. When I retrieve a project it does retrieve the translation but not the translated category because as it says in the cakephp book models attached via associations won't be translated. Any help would be appreciated

• C++: set of C-strings

  I want to create one so that I could check whether a certain word is in the set using set::find However, C-strings are pointers, so the set would compare them by the pointer values by default. To function correctly, it would have to dereference them and compare the strings. I could just pass the constructor a pointer to the strcmp() function as a comparator, but this is not exactly how I want it to work. The word I might want to check could be part of a longer string, and I don't want to create a new string due to performance concerns. If there weren't for the set, I would use strncmp(a1, a2, 3) to check the first 3 letters. In fact, 3 is probably the longest it could go, so I'm fine with having the third argument constant. Is there a way to construct a set that would compare its elements by calling strncmp()? Code samples would be greatly appreciated.
