• Location of New Window after old window closed

  I have an app that allows multiple windows. I have a strange bug where, if I repeatedly open and close windows, new windows are positioned lower and lower on the screen. I would expect this if I were keeping the windows open, but it seems that the OS X window tiling mechanism is unaware of when my windows are closing. Potentially relevant notes: I am using garbage collection. This is not a document-based app. When I close a window, the corresponding menu item is removed from the "Window" menu. Any hints as to what I might be doing wrong would be appreciated. Thanks!

• Deleting index from Solr using solrj as a client

  Hello, I am using solrj as client for indexing documents on the solr server. I am having problem while deleting the indexes by 'id' from the solr server. I am using following code to delete the indexes: server.deleteById("id:20"); server.commit(true,true); After this when i again search for the documents, the search result contains the above document also. Dont know what is going wrong with this code. Please help me out with issue. Thanks!

• Naive Bayesian for Topic detection using "Bag of Words" approach

  I am trying to implement a naive bayseian approach to find the topic of a given document or stream of words. Is there are Naive Bayesian approach that i might be able to look up for this ? Also, i am trying to improve my dictionary as i go along. Initially, i have a bunch of words that map to a topics (hard-coded). Depending on the occurrence of the words other than the ones that are already mapped. And depending on the occurrences of these words i want to add them to the mappings, hence improving and learning about new words that map to topic. And also changing the probabilities of words. How should i go about doing this ? Is my approach the right one ? Which programming language would be best suited for the implementation ?

• Why can't I use the return from an insertAfter as a regular jQuery object?

  I'm trying to insert a link after form elements to clear them. This demo code with headings doesn't work: h2 = $('h2'); clickytest = $('click me').insertAfter(h2).click(function() { $(this).append('foo'); }); But this does: clickytest = $('click me').insertAfter(h2); $('a.clicky').click(function() { $(this).append('foo'); }); The only difference is I've gone back and re-selected the new elements, rather than use what insertAfter returns. If on the other hand there is only one H2 in the whole document, then the first version works. What's going on? I've tried playing with each() but I'm not sure exactly what jQuery is doing here.

• jaxb XmlAccessType: PROPERTY example

  I'm trying to use jaxb and want to use the 'XmlAccessType.PROPERTY' to let jaxb use getters/setters rather than variable directly, but get different errors depending on what I try, or the variable isn't set at all like I want. Any good link or pointer to a simple example?   Hello All- Label1 (asp.net control) is located inside Panel1 of my webpage and I have a button called bt. What is the Javascript to copy the Text from Label1 to the clipboard? Or do I really have to grab back to document.createElement? Note: I know that I can use just the same name for each input element and retrieve them as an array, but the above is just a basic example, in real I really need to have the name attribute changed, because it not only contains the index, but also other information such as parentindex, ordering, etc. It's been used to add/rearrange/remove (sub)menu items. Edit: this is related to this bug, The jQuery (I'm using 1.3.2) does thus not seem to create inputs that way? • How to make TWebBrowser ignore accelerator chars of others controls?

  I have a TWebBrowser placed on a form with the designMode enabled. Bellow the browser I have a close button with the Caption set to 'Clos&e'. When I am editing the contents of a document inside the WebBrowser and I press the key E the button close is called. It appears that it is treating TWebBrowser like other controls that don't handle keys and/or don't accept chars (e.g. TButton). How can I solve this? Thanks in advance.

In this application, I have two databases selected by a radio button. Since jQuery loads and assigns this function when the document is loaded, the database name is whatever was checked at that momemnt. What I really need to pass to the php call is the following: database=$("input[name=rf_database_option]:checked").val(); Is ther ean easy to understand way to be able to pass a dynamic dom value?

• jQuery AJAX not redirecting?

  I have a simple PHP page (for testing) that simply calls header("Location: http://www.example.com");exit;, which resides on the same server, in the same directory as another file with the following jQuery Javascript: $(document).ready(function() { jQuery.ajax({ type : 'GET', url : 'bounce.php', error : function(xhr, status, error) { console.log("ERROR: ", xhr, xhr.status, xhr.getAllResponseHeaders()); }, complete : function(xhr, status) { // Get headers of the response console.log("COMPLETE: ", xhr, xhr.status, xhr.getAllResponseHeaders()); } }); }); I was expecting (from several other StackOverflow responses) for the xhr.status to return "302", but instead the AJAX call is triggering the "error" event (and then the "complete" event), and xhr.status is returning 0 (zero), and .getAllResponseHeaders() is coming back null (in both the error, and complete functions). Firebug is showing the "302 Moved Temporarily", and the response headers. So why is this triggering the error event, and not passing along the proper 302 code, and headers? Is this something to do with the Same Origin since the bouncing script and the fetching script are both on the same server? Is this jQuery or Javascript's fault?

• PHP - Opening uploaded DOCX files with the correct MIME TYPE

  I have users uploading DOCX files which I make available for download. The issues we have been experiencing is the unknown mime types of DOCX files which causes IE to open these docs as Zip files. It is running on a Windows/IIS server. Because this is a shared host, I cannot change any server settings. I was thinking that I could just write some code that would handle DOCX files, perhaps custom output: if (extension=docx) { header("Content-Disposition: attachment; etc) header('Content-Type: application/application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document'); Output the file contents etc } Would this be a viable solution?? If so, can someone help fill in the gaps? (PS I know the above syntax is not correct, just a quick example)

• Finding zoom level from window object properties

  Hi, I want to find out the zoom level of what is being displayed in a browser window based on the javascripts' window object properties (http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/window.shtml) to which I have access. I just can't seem to find the right mathematical formula for the zoom based on the inner width, page offset, etc. I found a solution, but that uses the document.body.getBoundingClientRect call which does not return anything in my case and for which I can't tell if there's a suitable replacement from the window properties. Specifically, being able to see who else is working on the document and what they are changing in real time. Something like an embedded etherpad. Are there any good solutions out in the wild? • Hyphen encoding (minus) in Google Base RSS feed

  I am trying to create an automatic feed generation for data to be sent to Google Base using utf-8 encoding. However I am getting errors whenever hyphens are found telling me that there is an encoding error in the relevant attribute (title, description, product_type). I am currently using: &amp;minus; but I have also tried: &amp;#8722; neither of which have worked.   Is there a 3rd party add-on/application or some way to perform object map dumping in script debugger for a JavaScript object? Here is the situation... I have a method being called twice, and during each time something is different. I'm not sure what is different, but something is. So, if I could dump all the properties of window (or at least window.document) into a text editor, I could compare the state between the two calls with a simple file diff. Thoughts? • Javascript String Length Differs From PHP mb_strlen

  I use document.getElementById("text").value.length to get the string length through javascript, and mb_strlen($_POST['text']) to get the string length by PHP and both differs very much. Carriage returns are converted in javascript before getting the string length, but I guess some characters are not being counted. For example, [b]15. Umieszczanie obrazka z logo na stronie zespolu[/b] This block of text is calculated 57 in javascript and 58 in PHP. When the text gets long, the difference increases. Is there any way to overcome this?
