  Hi I am getting DateString in JavaScript from the TextBox like, var dateString = document.getElementById('<%= txtEffDate.ClientID %>').value; dateString value may be in following format. en-US - "4/29/2010" fr-FR - "29/04/2010" de-DE - "29.04.2010" it-IT - "29/04/2010" es-ES - "29/04/2010" zh-CN - "2010/4/29" ja-JP - "2010/04/29" sv-SE - "2010-04-29" And converting this to Date Object as follows, var d1 = new Date(dateString); though its giving me the wrong result like for fr-FR "29/04/2010" == "Fri May 4 00:00:00 UTC+0530 2012" Which is completely irrelevant, How should I get the correct Date ? • SHAddToRecentDocs without a file?

  I was toying with an IRC client, integrating it with the windows 7 app bar. To get a "Frequent" or "Recent" items list one has to call SHAddToRecentDocs API. I want to add recent IRC channels visited to the Windows 7 Jumplist for the IRC application. Now, my problem is, IRC channels don't exist in the file system. And SHAddToRecentDocs seems to insist on getting some sort of file system object. Ive tried to work around it by creating a IShellItem pointing to my application, and giving it a command line to launch the channel. The shell is rebelling however, and thus far has not visibly added any of my "recent document" attempts to the Jumplist. Is there no way to do this without creating some kind of entirely unwanted filesystem object?

  I have a website using the prootype framework and I am looking to use a jquery plugin. Everything works just not in IE8. It works in ie7 which amazes me. • Javascript - Concatenate Multiple NodeLists Together

  I was originally asking for an elegant way to simulate the Array.concat() functionality in IE or older browsers, because it seemed that concat was not supported. Only, of course it is and the reason the object didn't support it is because it wasn't an array. Oops! getElementsByTagName returns a NodeList, not an array. The real question, then, is: what's a good way to get a single list of all the form elements in a document (input, select, textarea, button) to loop through them? An array isn't required... a single NodeList would be perfect, too. Note that I'm using IE6 as this is for a corporate intranet (soon IE8 though).

  Hey guys, I am using microformats for a project and with this I have the following Problem.   My code is working fine in FireFox but my users are restricted to IE.   I'm looking into synchronizing an ebook in epub format (so the content is in XHTML) to an audio file. I'm thinking of putting something along the lines of: <a class="audiolink" href="sound.ogg?t=1093"></a> into the body of the document, and then have a custom epub reader that recognizes those tags and synchronizes the audio accordingly. That does seem like a bit of a hack to me though, especially the use of a special class name. Does anyone have any pointers to how this may be done in a more standards-compliant manner (or somewhere where it has been done before)? Ebooks with audio annotation seem like an idea that may already be out there.

  Hi, I'm writing an NPAPI plugin. In every webpage that the browser goes to, I inject my plugin with an object tag. Something like: <object id="myplugin" type="plugin-mime-type" > In some pages where i dont want it, after injection i remove it by finding the element using the id and doing a document.removeChild. From my logging i found that in firefox and opera, doing this automatically calls the plugin destroy method NPP_Destroy (NPAPI). But in chrome, it doesnt seem to call it. Is there any special way that i should remove a plugin in chrome that i am missing?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am quessing that I need to link the relevant files to a-z.php and then load it via ajax. Doesn't this kind of defeat the object of ajax?? That means that I will be loading the js files on the main page and then loading them again when I ajax a-z.php I hope I made some sense.

  Hi, I want to find out the zoom level of what is being displayed in a browser window based on the javascripts' window object properties (http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/window.shtml) to which I have access. I just can't seem to find the right mathematical formula for the zoom based on the inner width, page offset, etc. I found a solution, but that uses the document.body.getBoundingClientRect call which does not return anything in my case and for which I can't tell if there's a suitable replacement from the window properties. I followed a procedure i found online to set up the service and it works fine with javascript in aspx files within that particular project but i'm unsure how to reference it in javascript files in a different project (in the same solution). • Mixing a4 and a3 in one Latex file

  Hello, I am finishing my thesis and have a large appendix. Some tables only look good, if first done on a3 and then (paper)printed on a4. Anyhow, working all the files seperalty is fine, but I struggle to compile all in one. I use the geometry package and start the document with: \usepackage[a4paper,left=30mm,right=20mm,top=20mm, bottom=20mm]{geometry} For the appendix, I want to include the table and use \newgeometry{a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm} However, the command is completely ignored and I can read "a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm" above the table. What did I miss? Is it even possible? If not, how do I get the numbers right, if I have to include it as a pdf (which works)? Thanks!

  There is only one text field on a HTML form. Users input some text, press Enter, submit the form, and the form is reloaded. The main use is barcode reading. I use the following code to set the focus to the text field: <script language="javascript"> <!-- document.getElementById("#{id}").focus() //--> </script> It works most of the time (if nobody touches the screen/mouse/keyboard). However, when the user click somewhere outside the field within the browser window (the white empty space), the cursor is gone. One a single field HTML form, how can I prevent the cursor from getting lost? Or, how to re-focus the cursor inside the field after the cursor is lost? thx!

• Linq to xml not able to add new elements

  We save our xml in a "text" field in the database. So first I check if it exist any xml, if not I create a new xdocument, fill it with the necessary xml. else i just add the new element. I get an error saying incorrectly structured document. • Parsing prototype AJAX.response XML in IE

  Hi I have an xml webservice which I'm fetching using PrototypeJS. The xml has the correct content type and is well-formed, and looks like this: <GetTokenResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <GetTokenResult>F655100D64F098F0AC33AFF414A4A0D5</GetTokenResult> </GetTokenResponse> The AJAX request is completing successfully, and I can access the GetTokenResult node in both IE and FF but can only get the text content of the node in FF. My code is below: node = transport.responseXML.documentElement.getElementsByTagName('GetTokenResult')[0]; rawToken = (document.all) ? node.innerText : node.textContent; I've tried innerText and innerHTML, as well as children[0] and a few other chance guesses but IE returns 'undefined' when I access rawToken. Anyone able to lend a hand? Thanks, Adam
