  I have got the cuda driver, toolkit and sdk installed in Ubuntu 10.04. I'm using nVidia Geforce 8600 GT card. Official website says my card is CUDA supported. But on running the deviceQuery that comes with the cuda sdk, I'm getting the following output. ./deviceQuery Starting...   I have a pivot table with two sets of data as follows: 2011 2012 Slice A 45 20 Slice B 33 28 Slice C 22 2 I am trying to present two pie charts side-by-side, one with the 2011 data and one with the 2012 data. I want the relative size of each pie chart to reflect the totals, i.e. the pie chart with the 2011 data (totalling 100) should be twice the size of the pie chart with the 2012 data (totalling 50). The 'pie of pie' chart type seems to be closest to what I am looking for but this breaks out data from one slice and presents it in a second diagram so it isn't appropriate here.

• Cannot update Windows update

  When I try to get latest windows updates, windows (7 home) tells me that it needs to update the windows update. And that the Update window needs to be restarted in order to do that. After that restart I get error "WindowsUpdate 8007006D". Googlin that code doesnt' give me any more information. My PC has two account: one with admin rights and another is standard account. Corel Draw X3 runs fine on admin account, but when it is started from standard account (without admin right), it shows the following error: Product installation unsuccessful, please reinstall I could run this product definitely on standard user account last month. But it is not running now. I tried to run it with all compatibility mode: from windows 95 to vista service pack 2. For some mode, it opens and closes immediately after showing the splash screen, and for other mode it shows the above error. How to fix this problem?

  I think back in the old days, some email programs let users Paste an image right inside the email content. (maybe WinMail or Outlook?) So for example, we can write some text, embed an image, and then write some more text, and embed another image. The recipient will get the email content in the above text-image-text-image order (instead of having all images attached at the end of email) Can any web-based email program do that? Note that the image is not just a link, but a complete file. For example, Gmail lets us paste an image, but it is actually just a link to some web location. Can the actual file content be embedded instead?

  I am trying to use ninite to get my new laptop set up quickly. However when I try to install, windows complains about the CA. The website ninite.com also shows certificate problems. They use a root CA (COMODO Certification Authority) that is not included into windows 7 by default. However I am not able to install that CA. I can view the certrification path for the ninite.com cert. I can view the cert for COMODO. However I cannot see any option to install it. Any clues?

  I'm trying to register some DLLs for a particular application but having some problems. The DLLs are stored in the application folder in the D: drive. I run cmd.exe, go to the D: drive and run regsvr32, but it gives me the error: "The was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered." After searching for other solutions, I also tried copying the DLLs into the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and running regsvr32 directly there but that didn't work either. It gave me the same error. I'm not very familiar with Windows Administration, so I may need detailed instructions/explanations. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

• Web Client Service constantly in 'Stopping' state

  I have a user who's Web Client service constantly reports that it's in the 'Stopping' state and it's hindering her ability to save JMP files to a SharePoint site using the UNC path. She's running Windows XP Service Pack 3. I've tried modifying the Web Client parameters in the registry for UseBasicAuth and FileAttributesLimitInBytes with no luck. When I set the service to Manual and then try to start it after Windows boots up, it starts and then immediately goes into the Stopping state again. Other things I've tried: Removing/Reinstalling her network card Removing/Reinstalling the Client for Microsoft Networks and File and Print Sharing Checked that the BITS and RPC services are running fine (not sure if they're related) Does anyone have any other ideas? Is there a way to repair/rebuild the Web Client service?

• TortoiseSVN overlay icons do not appear when installed by a different user account?

  I've installed TortoiseSVN on my work Windows XP machine as the administrator. When I login in as a standard user my working copies do not display the overlay icons in Windows Explorer. I found this on TortoiseSVN's support pages: Did you install TortoiseSVN as a different user under WinNT/Win2K/WinXP than you are using now? Go to the settings of TSVN and activate the icon overlays for at least the fixed drives. The installer does this automatically for the current user (can't do it for other users...) but since you are using TSVN as a different user than you installed it you need to set this manually. http://tortoisesvn.net/node/97 I've checked the settings for overlay icons for the current user and the options Local and Network drives are checked. I've tried even toggling them off, applying, then on again and applying, then restarting but they still don't appear. I'm unable to install TortoiseSVN on the current user hence why I logged into the admin account. Any ideas?

  How do I change the default file permissions for files created on a Mac server? In case it's relevant, this is a Mac Mini running Mac OS 10.6.7. It's currently used mainly as a file server, and there are several users who need to share files. These files need to be writable by all, rather than the default which is writable only by the owner. I've been trying to do something with umask and a startup script, but I'm not sure there's a startup script that will apply to connections via Finder. I also need this to apply to files created on a client (also Macs) and copied onto the server.

  I am running into an odd keyboard problem: some key combinations end up reversed (e.g. "pl" ends up being emitted as "lp") when I'm typing quickly. The problematic ones are the key combos I hit with two adjacent fingers on my right hand-- in other words, the combos I can hit the fastest. No idea how fast is "fastest", but I guess around 50-150 msecs gap between them. I'm trying to track down whether this represents a failed keyboard, an inherent limitation of my Goldtouch USB keyboards, or a software problem on my Windows 7 Lenovo T500. I use a PS/2 version of the same Goldtouch keyboard at home with no problems. I've tried another USB keyboard with my laptop and can't repro the problem. I've also used this keyboard on other laptops without a problem. According to this SU thread, USB keyboards have higher latency than PS/2 keyboards-- up to 30 msecs. I find it hard to imagine that I can type key combos faster than 50 msecs, probably more like 100-150. Anyone encountered this problem with this or another keyboard? If so, how did you fix it? Any idea if there's a "keyboard log" or some way to diagnose the problem inside Windows?
