  • Unable to output formatted HTML from Jquery with html DataType

    - by Dkong
    I am calling some data which has pre-formatted HTML code in it, but when it renders from the jquery it appears to ignore my markup. This is my jQuery: function GetFeed(){ document.getElementById("marq").innerHTML = ''; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "xmlproxy.ashx", dataType: "html", success: function(obj) { $('<span class="tickerItem"></span>').html(obj).appendTo('#marq'); } }); }

  • stored as array understanding mongoid

    - by Gagan
    Hello frens, This is not a problem, but I just want to know stored as array of Mongoid better. I have following code in my model. class Company include Mongoid::Document include Mongoid::Timestamps references_many :people, :stored_as => :array, :inverse_of => :companies end class Person include Mongoid::Document include Sunspot::Mongoid references_many :companies, :stored_as => :array, :inverse_of => :people end Now in Company object we get person_ids as a result of stored_as array and company_ids in Person object. Now initially I inserted lots of person in company and the ids in person_ids fields is huge. Now I deleted most of person from company down to 8 people. Now I don't get why person_ids fields of Company object storing all the deleted ids of person. My console snapshot is follwing ruby-1.9.2-head Company.first.person_ids = [BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000025'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf35069500002c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000035'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf35069500003f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000048'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000052'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000062'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf35069500008d'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf350695000094'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf35069500009d'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000a7'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000b0'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000ba'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000c1'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000ca'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48a7adf3506950000f5'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48a7adf3506950000fc'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48a7adf350695000108'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000115'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000121'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf35069500012e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000135'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000141'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf35069500016f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf350695000176'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf350695000182'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf35069500018f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf35069500019b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53f7adf3506950001a8'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53f7adf3506950001af'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53f7adf3506950001bb'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8587adf3506950001e9'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8587adf3506950001f0'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8587adf3506950001ff'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf35069500020f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf35069500021e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf35069500022e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf350695000235'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d85a7adf350695000244'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d9587adf35069500025b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12db8b7adf35069500026a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de6f7adf3509c9000024'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de6f7adf3509c900002b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de6f7adf3509c900003a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c900004a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c9000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c9000069'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c9000070'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de717adf3509c900007f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e7f27adf350bd2000009'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e81f7adf350bd2000015'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e87f7adf350bd2000024'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b87adf350bd200004c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd2000053'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd200005c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd2000066'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd200006f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd2000079'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8ba7adf350bd2000080'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8ba7adf350bd2000089'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6b7adf350bd2000198'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6b7adf350bd200019f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001a5'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001ac'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001b2'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001b9'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001c0'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001c6'), BSON::ObjectId('4d141ca57adf35033e00006e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d141ca57adf35033e000075'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420aa7adf350705000003'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420aa7adf35070500000a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f47adf350705000011'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000015'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000018'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf35070500001c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000023'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000026'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500004b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000052'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000055'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500005c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000060'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000067'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500006a')] Company.first.people.collect(&:id) = [BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500004b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000052'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000055'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500005c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000060'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000067'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500006a')] Isn't the Company.first.person_ids array be only storing the ids shown by Company.first.people.collect(&:id) It would be helpful if some one tell me when to best use stored_as = :array method. Do stored_as = :array increase querying performance? Thanks

  • FormsAuthentication redirecting to login page when visiting root of website

    - by Ryan Lattimer
    I wanted to use FormsAuthentication to secure my static files as well on my site, so I followed the instructions located here http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/244/how-to-take-advantage-of-the-iis7-integrated-pipeline/ under title "Enabling Forms Authentication for the Entire Application". Now though, when I try to visit the site by going directly to http://www.mysite.com I get redirected to http://www.mysite.com/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f instead of it using my DefaultDocument I have set. I can go to my default document by just visiting http://www.mysite.com/Home.aspx without any issues because it is set to allow anonymous access. Is there something I need to add into my web.config file to make iis7 allow anonymous access to the root? I tried adding with anonymous access but no such luck. Any help would be much appreciated. Both Home and the Login form allow anonymous. <location path="Home.aspx"> <system.web> <authorization> <allow users="*" /> </authorization> </system.web> </location> <location path="Login.aspx"> <system.web> <authorization> <allow users="*" /> </authorization> </system.web> </location> Login form is set as the loginUrl <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms protection="All" loginUrl="Login.aspx"> </forms> </authentication> Default document is set as Home.aspx <defaultDocument> <files> <add value="Home.aspx" /> </files> </defaultDocument> I have not removed any of the iis7 default documents. However, Home.aspx is first in the priority.

  • How can I get the plain-text content of a Google Doc via Google Doc API in Silverlight?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I would like to use the Google Doc API to retrieve the plain-text content of a Google Doc document (not a spreadsheet) via the Google Docs API. In the documentation I can find information about accessing Spreadsheets and how to "create/upload/copy" documents: http://code.google.com/apis/documents/overview.html Does anyone have a C# code example to do this in Silverlight, something like this: //PSEUDOCODE: WebClientGoogleDoc proxy = new WebClientGoogleDoc (); proxy.DownloadStringCompleted += new DownloadStringCompletedEventHandler(proxy_DownloadStringCompleted); proxy.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(proxy_DownloadProgressChanged); proxy.DownloadStringAsyncWithGoogleDocId("dc7gj86r_20dn2csqg3");

    - by oimoim
    Hi, When using : document.onmouseover = function(e) {} Is there a property which gives me the element in the dom tree ? For example, I can set a style to e.srcElement But, how can I later access this element to (for example) reset its style ? And how can I know at which place in the dom tree it is ? I want to be able to situate it in the whole page dump. Many thanks.

  • Selecting an element based on text and attribute of its sibling, using Xpath

    - by Adam Asham
    Looking at the document, the goal is to select the second cell from the second row, in the first table. I've created the following expression: //row/td[2]/text()[td[@class="identifier"]/span[text()="identifier"]] but it does not return any rows. Unfortunately I do not see what's wrong. To me, it looks alright. The expression should: select the text in the second cell in any row where the text of a span equals to "identifier" and the span is located in cell with a "identifier" class I'd appreciate it if you could point out what I'm doing wrong. Sample XML document: <?xml version="1.0"?> <html> <table class="first"> <tr> <td>row 1, cell 1</td> <td>row 1, cell 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="identifier"> <span>identifier</span> </td> <td> foo <span>ignore</span> bar </td> </tr> <tr> <td>row 3, cell 1</td> <td>row 3, cell 2</td> </tr> </table> <table class="second"> <tr> <td>row 1, cell 1</td> <td>row 1, cell 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="identifier"> <span>not an identifier</span> </td> <td> not a target </td> </tr> <tr> <td>row 3, cell 1</td> <td>row 3, cell 2</td> </tr> </table> </html>

  • Alternative to before </body> tag inline Javascript

    - by Mohammad
    I know inline Javascript is frowned upon and with the new on-the-fly Javascript compressors that check for idle/unused function usage and omit the unused code, it seems good practice to have all your Javascript in an external file. My question is, in situations like FOUC (flash of unstyled content) which usually require little snippets of code right before the closing </body> tag, is there a JQuery resolution that would serve the same purpose, but from a remote Javascript file linked in the <head> of the document?

  • Calling a function in an iframe from a parent in firefox

    - by wyatt
    I'm trying to call a function, test(), of an iframe from the parent document using the code subframe.test(); subframe refers correctly to the iframe, alert(subframe) returns [object HTMLIFrameElement], and the function runs in both IE7 and opera (9.23), but not firefox (3.0), chrome (3.0) or safari (3.03 beta windows). I assume these browsers support the functionality, so wondering if perhaps I'm using an incorrect call which IE and Opera support anyway, which wouldn't surprise me.

  • Adobe Reader unable to open downloaded file in IE6

    - by chillysapien
    I'm working on a web app that allows users to downloaded dynamically generated PDF files. This works fine in IE8 and Firefox but fails in IE6 with Adobe Reader giving the message "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" If I save the file to disk first then it opens fine in Reader. I've given the file a simple short filename, without spaces so not sure what else to try. Any suggestions are very welcome.

  • Performance issue when querying a large xml file through php/ajax on Apache Server

    - by Niall
    Hey, I have a simple "live search" (results displayed while typing) web site. This make up is Ajax to PHP querying a pretty large XML document (10,000+ lines). This is all been hosted on a local Apache server (xamp). The scale of the xml document seems to be causing huge performance issue with results taking 10ish seconds to give the results. I'm very new to PHP (this actually being my first play about) so there below is a snippet of code in case there is something obvious for($i=0; $i<($foodListXML->length); $i++){ $type=$foodListXML->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('type'); $foodnote=$foodListXML->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('foodnote'); $style=$foodListXML->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('style'); if ($type->item(0)->nodeType==1) { //find a link matching the search text if (stristr($type->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue,$q)){ $currentFoodName = $type->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue; $currentFoodStyle = $style->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue; $currentFoodNote = $foodnote->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue; if ($hint==""){ $hint= $currentFoodName . " , " . $currentFoodNote . " , <b>" . $currentFoodStyle. "</b>" . "<br>" ; } else{ $hint=$hint . $currentFoodName . " , " . $currentFoodNote . " , <b>" . $currentFoodStyle. "</b>" . "<br>" ; } } } } } Also if having the data in a DB and accessing that is faster, then I'm open to that.. All ideas really!! Thanks.
