• Ubuntu 12.04 and KDE, graphical temperature monitor for GPU

  I have ubuntu 12.04 and KDE. I already installed "lm-sensors", "hardware sensors indicator" and "Psensors" but none works well for me. I also know a couple of commands to find gpu temperature on terminal but I don't need that, I need a graphical application that works with kde to use. Do you know something that helps me? My card is MSI R6870 Hawk (from ATI original HD6870) and I have fglrx drivers Thanks

• What are the advantages of mainframes?

  The downsides of Mainframes is well trodden ground; expensive, legacy, dwindling community, etc. I'm not particularly interested in the downsides, but I am curious if there are any benefits to mainframe hardware/software over the current Intel/AMD & Linux/Windows environment. I've been told that MFs are particularly good (and better than current servers) at heavy I/O loads. Is this still true?

• Packages organisation with MVC design pattern

  I have been programming quite a lot now and still can't decide which of these packages hierachies was the best: package1 Class1Controller Class1Model Class1View package2 Class2Controller Class2Model Class2View or controller Class1Controller Class2Contoller model Class1Model Class2Model view Class1View Class2View In other words, is it better to apply the MVC design pattern to classes or to packages? Is there any reason to choose one over the other? My question is language-agnostic, but I'm mostly a Java programmer, if it does any difference.

• Besxt Text-to-Speech Solution for my Website

  I'm working on the 'Ease of Access' section of my website with the options to increase the font-size displayed on pages to a minimum, invert colours and whatnot. I wish to implement a plugin which, if enabled by the user, to read content on my website. Presumably my best option is a website plugin, however there might be some programming I've not come across which allows the likes of PHP to read content. I'm not entirely sure how this all works. • Speakers doesn't work properly on Ubuntu 12.10 but works fine on windows7

  I have recently upgraded my Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 version and find issues with my speakers as well as microphone.When I boot the system they doesn't work, but(don't know why) when I restart once or twice they work fine.There is no problem with my laptop(dell xps) as they work well on windows7. I have my sound settings as follows Hardware --- Built-in Audio 1 Outpu/1 Input Analog Stereo Duplex Input(Internal Microphone) & Output(Speakers) -----Built-in audio Analog Stereo Any suggestions to fix the problem??
