  • map a sub page of a domain to google sites

    - by fred
I control a subpage of a site: economics.university.edu/summerschool I have access to CNAME, etc. However I want to use Google sites to create the site and then map the URL above to my Google site. In other words, someone on the university site that navigated to the summer school page would be redirected to the Google site transparently. However I keep getting this error from Google: "The format of the web address is unsupported." Is this possible?

  • How to figure out recent PageRank of websites or any particular page (Homepage)

    - by Rajesh Magar
I have this question because the most recent algorithm changes by Google have affected my website traffic. I've been wondering why my homepage PageRank has dropped from 6 to 4 (I am not sure exactly). I am not using any special SEO tools like SEOMOZ, Majestic SEO, etc. So it's quite difficult for me to ensure whether the page rank has been really affected or not. So can anyone please provide any good resource, tact or tricks to address this question?

  • SEO Providers - Freelancers, Professionals, Or Spam Artists?

Again, many of these offers you'll receive look legit enough. They come complete from a real email address, with a realistic name, a real phone number, and all of the other necessary credentials to look respectable. Sure, they're real people on the other end of the line, but unlike most reputable freelancers in the SEO business, these folks have chosen to use dubious tactics (sending mass emails and spam) to thousands and thousands of people in the hopes that one or two follow up and fall into the trap.

  • A critical look at sysfs attribute values

<b>LWN.net:</b> " It isn't hard to find complaints that the code in the Linux kernel isn't being reviewed enough, or that we need more reviewers. The creation of tags like "Reviewed-by" for patches was in part an attempt to address this by giving more credit to reviewers and there by encouraging more people to get involved in that role."

  • Why Your Abstract Wasn't Selected

    - by AllenMWhite
We're anxiously waiting to hear from PASS which sessions were selected for the 2014 Summit in November. It's a big job to go through the hundreds of submissions and pick the sessions that will appeal to the people who will be paying over $1,000 to attend this annual event. As I am also waiting to hear the results, I saw this article addressed to actors who didn't get cast for the part they worked so hard to audition for, and it seemed appropriate to address the same issues for would-be Summit speakers....(read more)

  • lead capture apps

I'd like to build a lead capture website, where a visitor is required to enter their name and email address in order to receive a free report for download. Do you know of an app which will let me store captured information in a database, and present the download link to them after registering? I guess this can all be accomplished using a contact form script with database integration and jquery confirmation message.
