• How do I catch the error from my printer with PrintDocument?

  I am using the PrintDocument class to print to my Brother label printer. When I execute the Print() method, the printer starts flashing a red error light, but everything else returns successful. I can run this same code on my laser printer and everything works fine. How can I see what is causing the error on my label printer?   I wanted to add background image to my JFrame. Background image means I can later add Components on the JFrame or JPanel Although I coudn't find how to add background image to a JFrame, I found out how to add background image to a JPanel from here: How to set background image in Java? This solved my problem, but now since my JFrame is resizable I want to keep the image in center. If I ditch the metadata class and just decorated the property on the actual class it works fine. WTH am I doing wrong? This is putting me on the verge of insanity. Please help.

• XDocument holding onto Memory?

  I have an appplication that does a XDocument.Load from a 20mb file and then gets passed to a form to view its contents: openFileDialog1.FileName = ""; if (openFileDialog1.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) { AuditFile = XDocument.Load(openFileDialog1.FileName); fmAuditLogViewer AuditViewer = new fmAuditLogViewer(); AuditViewer.ReportDocument = AuditFile; AuditViewer.Init(); AuditViewer.ShowDialog(); AuditViewer.Dispose(); AuditFile.RemoveNodes(); AuditFile = null; } In Task Manager I can see the memory being used by my application shoot up when I open this file. When I have finished viewing this file in my application I call : myXDocument.RemoveNodes(); myXDocument = null; However the memory use in Task Manager is still pretty high against my app. Is the XDocument still being held in memory and can I decrease the memory usage by my app?

  Lets say I have this class (simplified): class Tag (...): children = models.ManyToManyField(null=True, symmetrical=False) Now I already implemented the functions get_parents, get_all_ancestors. Is there a nice pythonic way to just the top level tags? If I had designed my Tags differently (to point to the parents instead) I would just make get_all_parents().filter(children=null). My first thought is to create a new function that will go recursively through all parents and save those that has none. But is there a possibility with filters or Query-objects to do the same (with fewer lines of code)? Thanks for your help. [edit] When it is finished, it should be a hierarchical tagging system. Each tag can have children, parents, but only the children are saved. I want to get all the top level tags, that point through many children / childrens children to my tag.

  Hello everyone, I have a table Student with 2 fields: Name: nvarchar(256) Age: int User will use a WinForm application to input a Name and a Age for searching. If inputted Name is empty, sql will not query Name field. If inputted Age is 0, sql will not query Age field. If Name is Null and inputted Name is empty - record is matched. If Name is Null and inputted Name is not empty - record is not matched. And also similar for Age field. My problem is that how to write a sql like this. P/S: I use SQL Server 2005. Please help me. • C/C++ Allegro program causes Windows 7 to switch to Aero Basic

• DriverManager always returns my custom driver regardless of the connection URL

  I am writing a driver to act as a wrapper around two separate MySQL connections (to distributed databases). Basically, the goal is to enable interaction with my driver for all applications instead of requiring the application to sort out which database holds the desired data. Most of the code for this is in place, but I'm having a problem in that when I attempt to create connections via the MySQL Driver, the DriverManager is returning an instance of my driver instead of the MySQL Driver. I'd appreciate any tips on what could be causing this and what could be done to fix it! Below is a few relevant snippets of code. I can provide more, but there's a lot, so I'd need to know what else you want to see. First, from MyDriver.java: public MyDriver() throws SQLException { DriverManager.registerDriver(this); } public Connection connect(String url, Properties info) throws SQLException { try { return new MyConnection(info); } catch (Exception e) { return null; } } public boolean acceptsURL(String url) throws SQLException { if (url.contains("jdbc:jgb://")) { return true; } return false; } It is my understanding that this acceptsURL function will dictate whether or not the DriverManager deems my driver a suitable fit for a given URL. Hence it should only be passing connections from my driver if the URL contains "jdbc:jgb://" right? FWIW, I have separately tested implementations that go straight to the mysql driver using this exact syntax (al beit only one at a time), and was able to successfully interact with each database individually from a test application outside of my driver.

I could see the reason as it looks the value in "${somelist}" , but it is not used in save method. Do i just need to check for null in the gsp and use whichever map is available, or any better method (passing all the map in the save method is not an option) .. thanks in advance..

  I'm writing a DLL that has function for getting Alfresco login ticket without using user password, using only a user principal name (UPN). I’m calling alfresco REST API service /wcservice. I use NTLM in Alfresco. I’m impersonating users using WindowsIdentity constructor as explained here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998351.aspx#paght000023_impersonatingbyusingwindowsidentity. I checked and user is properly impersonated (I checked WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name property). After impersonating a user, I try to make HttpWebRequest and set its credentials with CredentialsCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials. I get the error: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() When I use new NetworkCredential("username", "P@ssw0rd") to set request credentials, I get Alfresco login ticket (HttpStatusCode.OK, 200). Is there any way that I can get Alfresco login ticket without user password? • -sizeWithFont Functions Differently on Device

  So I am seemingly encountering some strange behavior when using NSString's -sizeWithFont family of method calls depending on whether or not I'm invoking it on the iPhone Simulator or an actual device. Simply enough, when the receiver of the -sizeWithFont method call is nil, the resulting CGSize passed back on the Simulator is {0, 0}. However, on the device, it is the size of the bounding rectangle I specified in the method call. See the following log statements: Simulator: someString: (null) someStringSize: {0, 0} Device: someString: (null) someStringSize: {185, 3.40282e+38} The behavior on the Simulator is what I would expect. Not that this issue is difficult to circumvent, but 1) I'm a little confused why this family of functions would behave differently on the Simulator and an actual device, and 2) why does calling a method on a nil receiving return a particular result? Thanks for any pointers or insight you guys can provide! EDIT: I suppose I should mention that I'm building against the 3.1 SDK.

• QGrid display default "loading" message when updating a table / on custom update

  I have a case where I need to update a jqgrid based on some search criteria which the user selects. I can get the data to update , but I would want the loading message to show while the new data is being fetched. Can someone please let me know how to get that working ?
