  I am trying to register a COM DLL using Inno Setup in a setup package I created. During test installations on Vista, I get this error: Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0xC0000005 I click "Ignore" and my application appears to install, but I have to then open a command prompt (as an administrator) and then regsvr32 to install the COM DLL. Is there any way to do this automatically in Inno Setup?

  Hi there. I'm packaging my open-source non-commercial java application in a .jar and I'd like to package the JDBC mysql-connector with it as it is a dependency. The issue that I am having is that I'm uncertain whether or not this is frowned upon or even illegal due to the JDBC license. I've also got the jdbc mysql-connector jar in my code repository. -- Has anyone been in the same situation? Thanks in advance.

• .NET remoting exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely.

  I'm writing a program which will allow to load a specific managed .DLL file and play with it. Since I want the ability to unload the .DLL file, I'm creating two AppDomains - one for the app itself, the other for the currently loaded .DLL. Since most of the objects in the loaded .DLL do not serialize well, I'm creating a MarshalByRefObject wrapper class which will keep the object itself in its own AppDomain, and expose some reflection functions to the main application AppDomain. However when I try to invoke a method on the remote object I get stuck with an exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely. This is very strange, because I'm not using any non-public or static methods at all. Added: To clarify - SomeInstanceOfRemoteObjectWrapper is constructed in the .DLL's AppDomain and then returned to my main AppDomain, The InvokeMethod<T>() is called from my main AppDomain (and I expect it to execute in the .DLL's AppDomain).

• onPause/onResume activity issues

  I have a small test application I am working on which has a timer that updates a textview to countdown from 100 to 0. That works fine, but now I am trying to pause the application if the user presses the back button on the phone and then restart the timer from where they left off when they reopen the app. Here is the code I am using: @Override public void onPause() { if(this._timer_time_remaining > 0) { this.timer.cancel(); } super.onPause(); Log.v("Pausing", String.format("Pausing with %d", this._timer_time_remaining)); } @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); Log.v("Resuming", String.format("Resuming with %d", this._timer_time_remaining)); if(this._timer_time_remaining > 0) { setContentView(R.layout.in_game); start_timer(this._timer_time_remaining); } } The start_timer() method creates a CountDownTimer which updates the textview in the onTick method and updates the this._timer_time_remaining int variable. CountDownTimer and _timer_time_remaining are both declared at the class level like this: private CountDownTimer timer; private int _timer_time_remaining; From the Log.v() prints I see that the _timer_time_remaining variable has the correct number of seconds stored when onPause is called, but it is set back to 0 when onResume starts. Why does the variable get reset? I thought that the application would continue to run in the background with the same values. Am I missing something? This is all declared in a class that extends Activity. Thanks in advance!

• Telerik RadAlert back button cache problem

  Hi, I'm sure you have had this one before so if you could point me to something similar.... I have a server side creation of a RadAlert window using the usual Sys.Application.remove_load and add_load procedure however the alert keeps popping up as it seems to be caching when the user hits the back button after it has been activated. I have tried to put a onclick event on a button to clear the function using remove_load before it moves to the next page however it still doesn't seem to clear it. Its used in validation so if a user inputs failed validation it pops up. If they then go and enter correct validation it then moves onto the next page. If they then use back button this is where it pops up again. Any ideas? • java converting int to short

  Hi I am calculating 16 bit checksum on my data which i need to send to server where it has to recalculate and match with the provided checksum. Checksum value that i am getting is in int but i have only 2 bytes for sending the value.So i am casting int to short while calling shortToBytes method. This works fine till checksum value is less than 32767 thereafter i am getting negative values. Thing is java does not have unsigned primitives, so i am not able to send values greater than max value of signed short allowed. How can i do this, converting int to short and send over the network without worrying about truncation and signed & unsigned int. • MSMQ first Message.Body in queue is OK, all following Message.Body in queue are empty

  I send a handful of identical (except for Id#, obviously) messages to an MSMQ queue on my local machine. The body of the messages is a serialized XElement object. When I try to process the first message in the queue, I am able to successfully de-serialize the Message.Body object and save it to file. However, when trying to process the next (or any subsequent) message, the Message.Body is absent, and an exception is thrown. I have verified the Message ID's are correct for the message attempting to be processed. The XML being serialized is properly formed. Any ideas?   i'm trying to install the adobe air sdk in linux. i unzip the package downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/air/tools/sdk/ into a folder "AdobeAIRSDK", and add the /bin folder into the PATH environment variable. but when i tried to run the adl, it gives me the following error: Error loading the runtime (/home/monuser/AdobeAIRSDK/bin/../runtimes/air/linux/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/Resources/nss3/None/libnss3.so: file too short) what's the problem here and how do i get it fixed?

  I just downloaded the Java SDK/JDK versions 5 and 6, and I just need the development tools (and some libraries) contained in the installation packages, I don't need to perform an installation and that's why I was only looking for a zip package at first (for Windows there is only an exe installation file), I only need to extract the contents of the installation packages, I think this can be done from the command line but so far I haven't found how to do this (I already considered WinRar and 7-Zip, but I really want to find how to do it without using these tools) Have you done this before and how?

  Hi All, I am new in the Wpf world, so I created a couple of views and all of them have at least one ComboBox, as I am using the MvvM pattern, I get my self re-typing all the time the same line of codes to fill the Combo and to get the SelectedItem (creating properties, privates for fill and other to get). • ScriptSharp ClockLabel example with 0.6.2

  Hi folks, I'm developing in Visual Studio 2010 and I've just downloaded and installed Script# 0.6.2 for VS 2010. I'm trying to follow the clock example in the Read Me pdf but can't get it to compile. It feels like I'm not referencing the correct projects/dlls. In the References for the project I have mscorlib and Script.Web. I've tried using the object browser find the classes (such as Behavior) in other namespaces but with no luck. I've added all of the .dlls from the ScriptSharp folder in Program Files but the namespaces still can't be found. Any help would be very much appreciated, Thanks, Hugh

• Rendering MXML component only after actionscript is finished

  In my mxml file, I'm doing some calculations in the script tag, and binding them to a custom component. <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ [Bindable] public var calc1:Number; [Bindable] public var calc2:Number; private function init():void { calc1 = //calculation; calc2 = //calculation; } ]]> </fx:Script> <mycomp:Ball compfield1="{calc1}" compfield2="{calc2}"/> The problem is that the mxml component is being created before the actionscript is run. So when the component is created, it actually doesn't get calc1 and calc2 and it fails from that point. I know that binding happens after that, but the component and its functions have already started and have run with the null or 0 initial values. My solution was to create the component also in actionscript right after calc1 and calc2 have been created. This way I get to control precisely when it's created <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ [Bindable] public var calc1:Number; [Bindable] public var calc2:Number; private function init():void { calc1 = //calculation; calc2 = //calculation; var Ball:Ball = new Ball(calc1, calc2); } ]]> </fx:Script> but this is creating all kinds of other problems due to the way I've set up the component. Is there a way I can still use mxml to create the component, yet control that it the <myComp:Ball> gets created only after init() is run and calc1 calc2 evaluated?

  Parsec is designed to parse textual information, but it occurs to me that Parsec could also be suitable to do binary file format parsing for complex formats that involve conditional segments, out-of-order segments, etc. Is there an ability to do this or a similar, alternative package that does this? If not, what is the best way in Haskell to parse binary file formats?

• Including MSVRC100.dll in C++ exe

  I created a simple C executable in Visual C++ 2010, but when others tried it they got a missing MSVCR100.dll error. Apparently, the user needs to install the Visual C++ Redistributable Package in order to run the exe. Is there any way I can instead include MSVCR100.dll inside the exe (so it's just one file, not sitting in the same folder) so people can just run the executable and have it work? Thanks for your help.

  I am building a captcha class. I need to store the generated code in a PHP session. • Can't ssh to ec2 permission denied (publickey)

  I have existing instances running and I can connect to them fine. Even if I start a new instance from one of my saved ami's I can connect to it fine but any new public or community ami (I've tried 2 offical Ubuntu ami's and 1 Fedora quickstart ami) I get permission denied (publickey). The permissions are good on my key file. I've also tried creating a new keyfile. My ec2 firewall rules are good, I've also tried creating a new group.   I have a project with some Android test code in it (with the appropriate elements, <uses-library> and <instrumentation>, added to AndroidManifest.xml). This works fine in Eclipse. However, it fails to build with mm, claiming that it can't find the test-runner classes: /home/orospakr/code/my-android/packages/apps/MyApp/src/ca/orospakr/myapp/test/functional/MyActivityTest.java:5: cannot find symbol symbol : class ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 location: package android.test import android.test.ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2; ^
