  We have a database setup that consists of two parts: a static structure, and dynamic additions. For each database, the dynamic can be different, and sometimes we don't have data for all the dynamic fields. Rigt now, we check for empties by looking at the total count of records in the entire table, but we want to move to a more refined method of checking for empties if possible. Is it possible to quickly check through several hundred fields and see which ones are empty and which ones are populated?

  The goal of this query is to get a total of unique records (by IP) per ref ID. SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ip), GROUP_CONCAT(ref.id) FROM `sess` sess JOIN `ref` USING(row_id) WHERE sess.time BETWEEN '2010-04-21 00:00:00' AND '2010-04-21 23:59:59' GROUP BY ref.id ORDER BY sess.time DESC The query works fine, but its using a temporary table. Any ideas?

I know that delete does not reclaim the memory space, but as i found in a description of DELETE command, inserts may reuse the space deleted In MyISAM tables, deleted rows are maintained in a linked list and subsequent INSERT operations reuse old row positions. I am interested if LOAD DATA command also reuses the deleted space? UPDATE I am also interested how the index space reclaimed?

Each text file looks like: Account_ID: 98734BLAH9873 User Name: something_85 First Name: ILove Last Name: XML Age: 209 etc... I wish I could get a result set of 10 rows based on all time last updated records contained in the 2 columns, ex. row 1 = last_updated_1 record, row 2 = last_updated_2 record, row 3 = last_updated_1 record, etc. How could I compare inside a MySQL query the both columns values, to get unique & mixed result set ? Instead I want to pass only arrays and objects that contain the data but do not have any methods.
