  • Silverlight 4 missing from VS 2010

    Hello, When I start a new Visual C# Silverlight project in the official release version (not the beta or the release candidate--the official release version) of Visual Studio 2010, I get only Silverlight 3 as an option in the Silverlight Version dropdown at the New Silverlight Application dialog box. I have installed SL 4, the SL4 tools for VS 2010, to no avail. I am running Windows XP SP3. Any ideas??? Thank you, Jon

    What is the advantage of using a ConcurrentBag(Of MyType) against just using a List(Of MyType)? The MSDN page on the CB (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd381779(v=VS.100).aspx) states that ConcurrentBag(Of T) is a thread-safe bag implementation, optimized for scenarios where the same thread will be both producing and consuming data stored in the bag So what is the advantage? On the other hand, it is recognizing some snippets I've implemented myself in the past. Any ideia of what might be the problem?     I have a bitmap and I want to scale it up to fill an ImageView and overlay the unscaled version of the bitmap on top. Which would be cheaper (in terms of memory and processor usage)? Using two ImageViews, one for each version of the bitmap Using a canvas and drawing on the singular bitmap, using one ImageView I saw this question about ImageView vs Canvas, but it doesn't address memory/processor concerns. My intuition says two ImageViews may use more RAM, while using a canvas would use more processing power while the drawing occurs.
