• API to lookup product information by UPC?

  Is there an API that allows lookup of product information by UPC? I know that Amazon has the Product Advertising API but don't think it can be used for any purpose other than sending traffic to amazon.com as per their license agreement here. Specifically, my application would not have the principal purpose of advertising and marketing the Amazon Site and driving sales of products and services on the Amazon Site Does such an API exist that I can do anything I want with the data? UPDATE I would want to use the API for my application, not create create such an API.

• CSS Only Selecting Certain Classes

  Hi I'm working with a Wordpress template. I have a separate template page for the blog section. On the other pages of the site I have class that works fine and looks like this .post header h2 { display:none; } On the blog page, I add this to the CSS and it works as it should #main .post header h2 { display:block; } However if I try that with other classes like #main .wrapper { background-color:#000000; } Nothing happens. I've tried adding !important, I've also tried writing like such body.page-id-15 #main .wrapper { background-color:#000000; } with no luck. Here is a link to the site. http://gregtregunno.ca/news

• Asp.Net C# DllImport problem

  Hi, I want to import DLL file in my web site project. I have dll file "my.dll" in folder C:\DLLDir and I'm using the code : [DllImport("C:\\DLLDir\\my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] This works ok. But I want to use relative path (web site root path) . I'm trying to put "my.dll" in "bin" or root folder and I'm using the code : [DllImport("my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] but I'm getting the error: Unable to load DLL 'my.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) Any ideas?

• How do I integrate WordPress blogs with my Grails application?

  I had my static site with which WordPress blogs were integrated. Now I have made a Grails application with which I want to integrate those WordPress blogs. I had put the WordPress folder copied from my previous site to the web-app folder of my Grails application. But I am not able to access the WordPress folder, as when I hit URL - http://localhost:8080/myApplicaiton/wordpress/, it shows this error: Error 500: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out Also, in my urlMappings.groovy one of the mappings I need is "/$generalPageURL"(controller:'myConroller', action:'myAction') And if I put in the above mapping, all requests for WordPress goes to myAction of myController. Is there any way out to still reach the WordPress folder defined inside web-app folder with the above mapping?

The big question is:- for the relation with tags what best solution for optimazaion & query speed? make a table for each relation like: table articlesToTags(ArticleID,TagID) table jobsToTags(jobid,tagid) etc. or put it all in one table like table tagsrelation(tagid,itemid,itemtype) I need your help. • My IP seems to be blocked by web hosting server...

  Hi All I have a strange problem, i just installed my php web site on a shared hosting, all services were working fine. But after configuring my app i just could visit my web site only once, other attempts gives "The server is taking too long to respond.". But from other IP i can access, but only once, it seems all ip addressess beeing blocked after first visit(even ftp and other services get down, no access at all from the IP), can anyone help to explore this problem ? i don't think that it's my app problem, the app works fine on my local PC. • How to import a module from a directory?

  On my system I have two versions of Python (to call them I type python and python2 in the command line). When I use the first version of Python, I cannot import sklearn module but I can do it in the second version of Python. I would like to use the first version of python (because other modules are available there) and, at the same time, I would like to be able to import sklearn from this version of Python. My solution was to use: import sys sys.path.append('location_of_the_sklearn_module') To find the location of the sklearn module I started a python session (using the second version of python, in which sklearn works). The I type: import sklearn sklearn.__file__ As a result I got: /home/name/my_name/numpy/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sklearn/__init__.pyc In the session of the first version of Python I tried: import sys sys.path.append('/home/name/my_name/numpy/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sklearn') import sklearn Unfortunately it did not work. As a result I got: ImportError: No module named sklearn Does anybody know what I am doing wrong and if it is possible to reach the goal in the way I try?

• Can desktop applications be written using javascript?

  Is it currently possible to write desktop applications using javascript, html, css? Possible solutions: Use Adobe AIR runtime and program in js. But no, if I'm using AIR, the AS3 suites it the most. So not a good option. GWT: No because it uses Java and then convert it to js or what ever. Pyjamas: Interesting. But I'm currently focusing on JavaScript. So I don't want to use python and cross-compile to js. Run a local server and use the browser in full screen mode. Sort of okay, but still its the same browser thing. And difficult to distribute. So what is the best option? I'm excited about node.js which is the main reason for looking into JavaScript. Otherwise I would have choose python.

• Ubuntu Desktop on PC as an IPv6 router?

  I have a DELL PC with Ubuntu 12.10 and a pandaboard running the latest linaro ubuntu 12.08. The Ethernet on the panda board is reporting 'no ipv6 router present' regardless of what router I connect (they are all probably not ipv6). I can connect via a cross-over Ethernet cable the pandaboard to the DELL PC. Can I setup the DELL PC to act as an IPv6 router. the PC has a wireless connect to our router/ADSL box. I would Really appreciate some help here so if you have an alternative please suggest it.

• Creating a PHP call home "time bomb" to protect my interests

  Hi everyone, I produced a PHP web app for a client some months back that is hosted on their own server. I have still not been paid for this work, and they are giving me the runaround. It turns out that I still have remote admin access to their server, so I can make code changes. What I was thinking of doing was to move the core kernel off-site onto one of my own servers, and program in some kind of callback or include that gets the kernel (critical functions) from my server. Give it two weeks or so for their backups to catch this change, and then pull the plug and exercise leverage. If I do this, they will pay immediately, because the site is a critical one for a very large and influential client of theirs. What is the most effective and easiest way of doing this? What code do I use? Thanks for any pointers.

• RewriteRule in htaccess in subdirectory

  Windows server, running Apache. In my Apache conf, I have AllowOverride None for the root of a site and then I have a subdirectory set to AllowOverride All: <Directory /> AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory "/safe/"> AllowOverride All </Directory> However, when I try to set up a rewrite rule in the subdirectory's htaccess file, nothing happens, I just get a 404 page not found error. Example: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule (.*) /blah?test=$1 [R=302,NC,NE,L] Rwewriting URLs are working fine from the root via the Apache conf. I don't understand why the rule is ignored. I don't want to do the URL re-writing within the conf because for this case I may need to be changing the redirects constantly and don't want to reload the server every time a change is made. I also don't want to affect server performance by enabling htaccess files site-wide, just in the subdirectory I need it.

  I need to access a folder that will contain various text files for my web site. I'm using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I made a web site using visual basic. Here is the failing code: Dim fileName As String fileName = CurDir.ToString + fileName.Text + ".txt" FileOpen(1, fileName, OpenMode.Output) FileClose(1) CurDir.ToString is giving me strange directory path that isn't anywhere near where my website files are located. • Dreamweaver utf-8 encoded php page displays wrong chinese character in IE and Chrome, correct in FF

  I have an issue with character encoding: I have this page: http://www.studiomille.jp/class/ (its in japanese but the character in question is from chinese i think) FF shows it correctly, IE (all versions) and Chrome doesn't (sorry larger screenshots): FF Screenshot: IE Screenshot: (there are other character that are different throughout the site, this is just one example) Everything is set to UTF-8: * PHP sends header: Content-Type:text/html; charset=UTF-8 * PHP starts with: mb_language('uni'); mb_internal_encoding('UTF-8'); * meta tag: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> * all files are saved with UTF-8 encoding with DreamWeaver CS3 * the same font is used in all the browsers. On that page nothing comes from the db, everything is hard coded. The site has the same behavior on my localhost too. So why only FF gets it right and how can I make it work on IE also?

  Hello all, I have a small WordPress site. I do a lot of audio work and I'm trying to post HTML5 audio clips in blog entries on WordPress. For some reason it isn't working. It might have something to do with the style I'm using on my WordPress site but I haven't been able to nail it down. I know my audio tags are valid, as they work elsewhere. For this I read that I have to modify the web.config from Central Administration and web.config from my site with the membership and roleManager tags configured properly. • Drupal limit number of menu items in primary links

  Is there a way to set a limit on how many menu items users can add to Primary Links menu? I'm working on a Drupal site and I have a horizontal primary links nav bar. There is only room for no more than 7-8 links in the nav bar. I don't want the future maintainer of the site to add more than 8 items to the menu. Is there a way I can set a limit on that?   Hello, i have a small site in html, that calls certain functions in perl. The site has 2 pages. Page A and B. My problem is when i go from paga B to A or vice-versa, the content of the page isn't reloaded. So if i change something in page B and then go to page A, i still have the content before my changes. How can i allways force the reload and especially the execution on the perl functions that read from files? Thanks.

• Can you control pinterest's "find image" results?

  Rather than add Pin It buttons through our site, I would like to simply control what images show up in Pinterest's "Find Image" results if a user decides to pin one of our URLs. As of now, "Find Images" allows the user to scroll through the images it finds on the page so they can select which image to pin. The "found" images start with the first jpg in the html file, I'm assuming (could that be a bad assumption??). On our site, this forces a user to scroll through about 15 navigation and promotion images before arriving at the featured product image. Is there any way to specify this image to show first in those results? Maybe through a meta tag, or by adding a class or id to the element? Without a public Pinterest API, this seems like just guesswork, but I wanted to see if anyone else has run into this, or solved this. Thanks.

  Hi, I have below click_log table logging hits for some urls site ip ua direction hit_time ----------------------------------------------------- 1 127.0.0.1 1 20010/01/01 00:00:00 2 127.0.0.1 1 20010/01/01 00:01:00 3 127.0.0.1 0 20010/01/01 00:10:00 .... ......... I want to select incoming hits (direction:1) and group by sites that are: from same ip and browser logged within 10 minutes of each other occured more than 4 times in 10 minutes. I'm not sure if above was clear enough. English is not my first language. Let me try to explain with an example. If site 1 gets 5 hits from same ip and browser with in 10 minutes after getting first unique hit from that ip and browser i want it to be included in the selection. Basically I am trying to find abusers.
