  • bottle.py on EC2 micro instance causes 2 order of magnitude slowdown

    Cross-posted from StackOverflow: I wrote a little toy script to solve this type of game, and put it on my new micro EC2 instance. It works perfectly, but while it takes around 0.5 seconds to run a local version, and takes under 0.5 seconds to run both the local and the bottle.py version on my home computer, running the bottle.py version on the EC2 instance takes over 2 minutes. Python has the cpu pegged at 99% the entire time. Only 7.4% memory usage, consistently, and no swapping. The only guess I have is initialization time for bottle.py on EC2, but if it were that, why would it be ~200x faster on my own computer with bottle.py?

    Hi, For my work, I need to create a service that will detect an abnormal program termination and, instead of displaying a message to the user (default behavior), send the generated core dump to a remote server. By now I can see only two ways: Flickr - there are groups but you have to approve group membership anyway, or use tags for grouping which is bad for maintenance Custom server solution which will cost efforts and hosting Can you suggest other free photo services with geotags functionality, or opensource solutions? Since I am not able to migrate it myself and would like an answer as soon as possible I'm reposting it here instead: I am to upgrade a printer driver remotely and has prepared a batch file for this. The only problem is that when I'm installing the drivers I get a popup in which I need to press "Continue Anyway" on. Is there a way to automatically accept this question?   • PostgreSQL, update existing rows with pg_restore

    Hello. I need to sync two PostgreSQL databases (some tables from development db to production db) sometimes. So I came up with this script: [...] pg_dump -a -F tar -t table1 -t table2 -U user1 dbname1 | \ pg_restore -a -U user2 -d dbname2 [...] The problem is that this works just for newly added rows. When I edit non-PK column I get constraint error and row isn't updated. For each dumped row I need to check if it exists in destination database (by PK) and if so delete it before INSERT/COPY.   • Why do I get so many errors building my Android project with Ant?

    Now that I sort of know my way around the SDK/API, I've switched from Eclipse back to my favorite text editor, which means I have to use ant to build my project, however: It seems every other time I compile the project, a lot of drawables get corrupted, resources lose their ids (resulting in NPEs in the code), or classes throw "Verify Errors". The only way to fix this is by removing the bin and gen folders, and recompiling, which is obviously annoying. Is there any way to avoid this? btw, I'm using ant 1.7.1, java version "1.6.0_20"

My question is if i can display the name of region without clicking the link "View city" but in the field "city"...is it possible to pass the webpage content (http://tinygeocoder.com/create-api.php?g=" + lat + "," + lon;) into my webpage? The content of this page is only the name as i said...no html tags! Thank you!

    I was not sure if this was for StackOverflow or here, I settled for here. I was wondering which file I should place this bash command in so it will be run on startup. # Start the MongoDB server /Applications/MongoDB/bin/mongod --dbpath /usr/local/mongo/data --fork --logpath /usr/local/mongo/log I have been scouring the net and think it is between ~/.bashrc, ~/profile, /etc/bashrc, /etc/profile or ~/.bash_profile. Although I have tried these and they seem to run on terminal startup not Mac startup. Am I missing a file here? Thanks for any help you can give.
