  • Selenium-Nunit Program Structure

    My office has a suite of web reporting engines written in VB. All in all there's about 300 reports with varying displays depending on the data being input into them. I'm trying to establish an efficient way to deal with such a major diversity, but am struggling with creating a system that won't be a nightmare to code/maintain. What I've considered doing is: On program launch, read the steps required for each test page. This may have multiple tests for the same page with varying inputs. Write each iteration of the test in XML file under $env:temp/testname Use the TestCaseSource attribute of Nunit to funnel every related xml file as a source. My major stumbling block has been how to get that data to the Nunit framework. Is Nunit really appropriate for what I'm trying to do, or is it too static?

    Are there any tools that are capable of editing code but in different language? To be more concrete, I want to parse java source file in editor, compile it to my language X, edit in X and compile back to java on save. Or edit pom.xml file using non-XML syntax. Which editor or IDE would be easiest to use for implementing such prototype? Option to transform only a snippet would be ideal to limit effort on parsing. For one example, Intellij IDEA can display anonymous class so it looks like lambda expression hiding some of boilerplate.

    The problem here is the ProfileCatalog.xml file refers to the old assesmbly namesdlls. It does not get updated when the assembly names change. Steps to fix this issue: 1. Open the ProfileCatalog.xml file in the Shell project, and you'll find there are three ModuleInfo configuration items that need to have the solution name prefixed. 2.     I have a question about the meta tag content-type. When starting to build my site (HTML+PHP+JS), I copied a lot of the meta tags over from elsewhere, and I have, amongst others, the following: <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=iso-8859-1" /> Now, I've seen that tag is being used a lot with the value "text/html". I've been searching the web but could not find a comprehensive explanation regarding what the difference between both is. The "text/html" intuitively sounds more straightforward to me. Should I change my tag to that, or might the "application/xhtml+xml" be an equivalent solution ? Alternatively, can anyone point me to a resource where the different values for these tags are listed and explained in a clear manner? Thanks in advance

  • WCF Routing Service Filter Generator

    Recently I've been working with the WCF routing service and in our case we were simply routing based on the SOAP Action. This is a pretty good approach for a standard redirection of the message when all messages matching a SOAP Action will go to the same endpoint. Using the SOAP Action also lets you be specific about which methods you expose via the router. One of the things which was a pain was the number of routing rules I needed to create because we were routing for a lot of different methods. I could have explored the option of using a regular expression to match the message to its routing but I wanted to be very specific about what's routed and not risk exposing methods I shouldn't via the router. I decided to put together a little spreadsheet so that I can generate part of the configuration I would need to put in the configuration file rather than have to type this by hand. To show how this works download the spreadsheet from the following url: https://s3.amazonaws.com/CSCBlogSamples/WCF+Routing+Generator.xlsx In the spreadsheet you will see that the squares in green are the ones which you need to amend. In the below picture you can see that you specify a prefix and suffix for the filter name. The core namespace from the web service your generating routing rules for and the WCF endpoint name which you want to route to. In column A you will see the green cells where you add the list of method names which you want to include routing rules for. The spreadsheet will workout what the full SOAP Action would be then the name you will use for that filter in your WCF Routing filters. In column D the spreadsheet will have generated the XML snippet which you can add to the routing filters section in your configuration file. In column E the spreadsheet will have created the XML snippet which you can add to the routing table to send messages matching each filter to the appropriate WCF client endpoint to forward the message to the required destination. Hopefully you can see that with this spreadsheet it would be very easy to produce accurate XML for the WCF Routing configuration if you had a large number of routing rules. If you had additional methods in other services you can simply copy the worksheet and add multiple copies to the Excel workbook. One worksheet per service would work well.

  • PCI hotplug doesn't seem to work

    In virsh I detach a PCI bus from host and attach it to a VM. I don't see any errors in these steps. But I don't see the PCI device listed in the VM. virsh # nodedev-dettach pci_0000_01_00_0 Device pci_0000_01_00_0 dettached virsh # attach-device VM1 pci_add.xml Device attached successfully $ cat pci_add.xml <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <source> <address domain='0x000' bus='0x01' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> </hostdev> Is PCI hot plug not supported? I am using Ubuntu 12.04.3(kernel 3.8.0-34). I can add the same PCI device through virsh edit VM1 and start the VM1. This way I am able to see the device.

  • Moved sitemaps to a different subdomain and losing search referrals around the same time. Red herring or correlation?

    We started to lose search referral traffic around the same time that I moved some of our sitemaps to a subdomain. Could this have hurt us? I followed Google's steps to creating a sitemap under a different subdomain. The new sitemaps.foo.com subdomain is being crawled and indexed well. Both www.foo.com and sitemaps.foo.com have been verified in Google Webmaster Tools. They appear as distinct sites. Is this correct? I can't find a way in Webmaster Tools to say "Hey, sitemaps.foo.com is really owned by www.foo.com, so show them together and make sure to attribute sitemaps.foo urls to www.foo" Our www.foo.com/robots.txt Sitemap: http://www.foo.com/sitemap.xml Sitemap: http://sitemaps.foo.com/subdir/sitemap.xml.gz

It's currently indexing them on it's own time I believe which is every 2 - 3 days and when working in music and media I need to have the latest post fairly quickly. My robots.txt file is. User-agent: * Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /wp-content/ Disallow: /wp-includes/ sitemap: http://vipes.us/sitemapindex.xml If I am understanding this correctly, I would put this URL into Google http://vipes.us/sitemapindex.xml. But in doing so I still only get some of my pages indexed?

  • Getting started with SOAP [closed]

    A site I developed has a new requirement to get weather data from the National Weather Service. They have quite a bit of info on how to use SOAP to get their data and display it in the browser, but what we need to do is use a cron job to get the data at specific intervals, then parse the data out into a database. I have no problem writing PHP code that will run an XSLt and parse xml records out into SQL queries, but I have no idea how to handle this with SOAP (which I've never worked with.) Do I get the data via a SOAP request, save it to an XML file on my web server, then run the XSLt against that? Or is there some other way to go about this?

  • How to configure a longer version Number in artifactory

    The version-numbers for our jars have to be longer them x.x.x. We would rather need x.x.x.x to integrate some old-fashioned self-made mechanism. This is, because we tag our software with x.x.x and as soon as we have a delivery to a customer one specific jar has to be build exactly at this point of time to fit to another backend, which communicates with our program. For that reason this one jar has the version 2.3.4.1, when generated and in next delivery of the same Version it is build and named 2.3.4.2. Now artifactory cannot handle this an doesn't save more than x.x.x.2 in some cases. So we thought of maybe edit the regular expression in the maven repository layout (see attached Screenshot) Because testing the path in the field below shows, that it cannot handle the version number. Of course for the rest of our jars still x.x.x has to work.. For Example here is the maven-metadata.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <metadata> <groupId>com.firm</groupId> <artifactId>someid</artifactId> <version>1.5.1</version> <versioning> <latest>1.5.1</latest> <release>1.5.1</release> <versions> <version>1.4.62</version> </versions> <lastUpdated>20120926073942</lastUpdated> </versioning> </metadata> The folder structure looks like: someid 1.4.62 1.4.62.1 1.4.62.2 1.4.62.3 If we deploy an new artifact version (1.4.62.1), the maven-metadata.xml contains the 1.4.62.1 version. But the artifactory overrides the version number (1.4.62.x) to (1.4.62) after an unspecified time. It seems that the artifactory only support major, minor and revision numbers, and deletes the buildnumber. Now we looking for a solution do disable this behavior. We use the JFrog Artifactory version 2.5.0 (rev. 13086). Any ideas, maybe? Thanks in andvance

    I'm trying to set the DataSource for a Crystal Reports report, but I've run into a few problems. I've been following a guide written by Mohammad Mahdi Ramezanpour, and have managed to get all the way to the last part now (setting the DataSource). However, I have a problem that Mohammad does not seem to have - when I pass the results of my query to the report, I end up with the following exception: DataSet does not support System.Nullable< This is the query I am using: public IQueryable<Part> GetPartsToDisplayOnStockReport() { return from part in db.Parts where part.showOnStockReport == true select part; } and the way I pass it to the Report: public ActionResult ViewStockReport() { StockReport stockReport = new StockReport(); var parts = ordersRepository.GetPartsToDisplayOnStockReport().ToList(); stockReport.SetDataSource(parts); Stream stream = stockReport.ExportToStream(CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat); return File(stream, "application/pdf"); } I have also tried changing my query to this code, in the hope that it would fix my problem: return (from part in db.Parts where part.showOnStockReport == true select part) ?? db.Parts.DefaultIfEmpty(); but it still complained about the same problem. How can I pass the results of this query to my report, to use it as a data source? Also, if each of my Parts object contains other objects / collections of other objects, will I be able to reference them in the report with a datasource like this?

  • ASP.NET MVC/LINQ: What's the proper way to iterate through a Linq.EntitySet in a View?

    OK so I have a strongly-typed Customer "Details" view that takes a Customer object Model. I am using LINQ to SQL and every Customer can have multiple (parking) Spaces. This is a FK relationship in the database so my LINQ-generated Customer model has a "Spaces" collection. Great! Here is a code snippet from my CustomerRepository where I iterate through the Customer's parking spaces to delete all payments, spaces and then finally the customer: public void Delete(Customer customer) { foreach (Space s in customer.Spaces) db.Payments.DeleteAllOnSubmit(s.Payments); db.Spaces.DeleteAllOnSubmit(customer.Spaces); db.Customers.DeleteOnSubmit(customer); } Everything works as expected! Now in my "Details" view I want to populate a table with the Customer's Spaces: <% foreach (var s in Model.Spaces) { %> <tr> <td><%: s.ID %></td> <td><%: s.InstallDate %></td> <td><%: s.SpaceType %></td> <td><%: s.Meter %></td> </tr> <% } %> I get the following error: foreach statement cannot operate on variables of type 'System.Data.Linq.EntitySet' because 'System.Data.Linq.EntitySet' does not contain a public definition for 'GetEnumerator' Finally, if I add this bit of code to my Customer partial class and use the foreach in the view to iterate through ParkingSpaces everything works as expected: public IEnumerable<Space> ParkingSpaces { get { return Spaces.AsEnumerable(); } } The problem here is that I don't want to repeat myself. I was also thinking that I could use a ViewModel to pass a Spaces collection to the View, however LINQ already infers and creates the Spaces property on the Customer model so I think it would be cleanest to just use that. I am missing something simple or am I approaching this incorrectly? Thanks!

    I have a requirement where I have to display some data (from a custom db) and let the user export it to an excel file. I decided to use the ReportViewer control present in Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer. I added the required assembly to the project references and I add the following code to test it out protected override void CreateChildControls() { base.CreateChildControls(); objRV = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer(); objRV.ID = "objRV"; this.Controls.Add(objRV); } The first error asked me to add this line in the web.config which I did and the next error says The type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.Analytics.UI.ReportViewerMessages, Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' does not implement IReportViewerMessages Is it possible to use ReportViewer in my custom Web Part? I rather not bind a repeater and write my own export to excel code. I want to use something which is already built by Microsoft? Any ideas on what I can reuse?     I'm having a problem with runtime error 1004 at the last line. I'm bringing in an access query into excel 2007. I know the recordset is ok as I can see the fields and data. Im not sure about the picotcache was created in the set ptCache line. I see the application, but the index is 0. Code is below...   • Problem with cascade delete using Entity Framework and System.Data.SQLite

    I have a SQLite DB that is set up so when I delete a Person the delete is cascaded. This works fine when I manually delete a Person (all records that reference the PersonID are deleted). But when I use Entity Framework to delete the Person I get an error: System.InvalidOperationException: The operation failed: The relationship could not be changed because one or more of the foreign-key properties is non-nullable. When a change is made to a relationship, the related foreign-key property is set to a null value. If the foreign-key does not support null values, a new relationship must be defined, the foreign-key property must be assigned another non-null value, or the unrelated object must be deleted. I don't understand why this is occurring. My trigger is set to clean up all related objects before deleting the object it was told to delete. When I go into the model editor and check the properties of the relationship it shows no action for the OnDelete property. Why isn't this set correctly by pulling it from the DB? If I change this value to Cascade everything works properly, but I would rather not rely on this manual change because what if I refresh my model from the DB and it looses that. Here's the relivent SQL for my tables.     I'm getting the following error in my MVC2 app using Linq to SQL (I am new to both). I am connected to an actual SQL server not weird mdf: System.InvalidOperationException The null value cannot be assigned to a member with type System.Int64 which is a non-nullable value type My SQL table has a column called MessageID. It is BigInt type and has a primary key, NOT NULL and an IDENTITY 1 1, no Default In my dbml designer it has the following declaration for this field: [global::System.Data.Linq.Mapping.ColumnAttribute(Storage="_MessageId", AutoSync=AutoSync.OnInsert, DbType="BigInt NOT NULL IDENTITY", IsPrimaryKey=true, IsDbGenerated=true)] public long MessageId { get { return this._MessageId; } set { if ((this._MessageId != value)) { this.OnMessageIdChanging(value); this.SendPropertyChanging(); this._MessageId = value; this.SendPropertyChanged("MessageId"); this.OnMessageIdChanged(); } } } It keeps telling me that null cannot be assigned - I'm not passing through null! It's a long - it can't even be null! Am I doing something stupid? I can't find a solution anywhere! I made this work by changing the type of this property to Nullable<long> but surely this can't be right? Update: I am using InsertOnSubmit.     I have problem with JDBC application that uses MONEY data type. When I insert into MONEY column: insert into _money_test (amt) values ('123.45') I got exception: Character to numeric conversion error The same SQL works from native Windows application using ODBC driver. I live in Poland and have Polish locale and in my country comma separates decimal part of number, so I tried: insert into _money_test (amt) values ('123,45') And it worked. I checked that in PreparedStatement I must use dot separator: 123.45. And of course I can use: insert into _money_test (amt) values (123.45) But some code is "general", it imports data from csv file and it was safe to put number into string literal. How to force JDBC to use DBMONEY (or simply dot) in literals? My workstation is WinXP. I have ODBC and JDBC Informix client in version 3.50 TC5/JC5. I have set DBMONEY to just dot: DBMONEY=.   • Save a PDF created with FPDF php library in a MySQL blob field

    I need to create a pdf file with the fpdf library and save it in a blob field in my MySQL database. The problem is, when I try to retrieve the file from the blob field and send it to the browser for the download, the donwloaded file is corrupted and does not display correctly. The same pdf file is correctly displayed if I send it immediately to the browser without storing it in the db, so it seems some of the data gets corrupted when is inserted in the db. My code is something like this: $pdf = new MyPDF(); //class that extends FPDF and create te pdf file $content = $pdf->Output("", "S"); //return the pdf file content as string $sql = "insert into mytable(myblobfield) values('".addslashes($content)."')"; mysql_query($sql); to store the pdf, and like this: $sql = "select myblobfield from mytable where id = '1'"; $result = mysql_query($sql); $rs = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); $content = stripslashes($rs['myblobfield']); header('Content-Type: application/pdf'); header("Content-Length: ".strlen(content)); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=myfile.pdf'); print $content; to send it to the browser for downloading. What am I doing wrong? If I change my code to: $pdf = new MyPDF(); $pdf->Output(); //send the pdf to the browser the file is correctly displayed, so I assume that is correctly generated and the problem is in the storing in the db.
