    Hi all, (LocalVariable)ABC.string(Name)= (Idatareader)datareader.GetString(0); this name value is coming from database.. what happening here is if this name value is null while reading it's throwing an exception? I am manually doing some if condition here. I don't want to write a manual condition to check all my variables.. I am doing something like this now.. string abc = (Idatareader)datareader.GetValue(0); if(abc = null) //assiging null else assiging abc value is there something like can we write extension method for this? thanks

  • Visual Studio confused by server code inside javascript

    I ran into an annoying problem: the following code gives a warning in Visual Studio. <script type="text/javascript"> var x = <%: ViewData["param"] %>; </script> The warning is "Expected expression". Visual Studion gets confused, and all the javascript code after that is giving tons of warnings. Granted, it's all warnings, and it works perfectly fine in runtime - but it is very easy to miss real warnings among dozen of false positives. It was working the same way in VS2008, and it wasn't fixed in VS2010. Does anybody know if there is a workaround, or a patch?

However, when you click the button the a:hover style remains until I click on something else. How would I fix this and why is this happening?     Q: I use RadUpload Telerik control to upload more than image ..this control is flexible and amazing one.. it works perfectly but recently i find the following problem :: the problem appears only in firefox not IE when click on Select button in this control to select my file the button doesn't work at all ,,but when i click on the textbox(which the file path appear in)it opens the window which i can select a file from it .. i don't know what is the problem with firefox .. i wanna the default behavior to not confuse the user ,i wanna when clicking on Select button , showing a window to select my file from it like IE.. any suggestions to fix this problem please...

    I'm trying to pass an ID of an activity (RefNum) to a Sub in my codebehind. I know I'm supposed to use parentheses when passing parameters to subroutines and methods, and I've tried a number of ways and keep receiving the following error: BC30203: Identifier expected. I am trying to create a LINQ query that will count how many unique words are in the collection and output them to to the console. So, for example, if my StringCollection has 'House', 'Car,'House','Dog', 'Cat', then it should output like this: House -- 2 Car -- 1 Dog -- 1 Cat -- 1 any ideas on how to create a LINQ query to do this?

    public int GenPurchaseOrderNum() { Random random = new Random(); _uniqueNum = random.Next(13287, 21439); return UniqueNum; } I removed unique constraint from the PONumber column in the db because an employee should only generate P.O. # when the deal is set. Otherwise, P.O. # would have 0. P.O. Number used to have unique constraint, this forces employee to generate P.O. in all cases so the db doesn't throw unique constraint error. Since i removed the unique constraint, any quote doesn't have P.O. will carry 0 value. Otherwise, a unique value is generated for P.O. #. However, i don't have a unique constraint in db which makes it hard for me to know whether the application generated P.O. # is unique or not. What should i do? I hope my question is clear enough

    My site allows anonymous users. I saw that under heavy load user get sometimes profile values from other users. This happens for anonymous users. Just to be safe I removed dependency injection for the FormsAuthentication. I dont use OutputCaching.   • Want to build simple SQL admin interface to change a few values in a table.

    i am currently building a system in MSSQL 2K5. i have a table that holds information about certain insurance schemes such as overheads and other things. these values will change occasionally and currently i administer the database straight through the management Studio. i would like to build a simple interface that will allow my colleagues to change these values by selecting the company in a dropdown and the current values will populate. they can then edit these values and submit them to the database. is this possible in the current Visual Studio supplied with MSSQL server 2K5 or do i need to get another product. i am confident that with the help of stack overflow and google i can build this myself, but i need pointed in the right direction as to which environment would be easiest and best to start building it.     I am trying to run this code: ItemTaxonomy iTaxonomy = from itemTaxonomy in connection.ItemTaxonomy where itemTaxonomy.Item.ID == itemView.ID orderby itemTaxonomy.Taxonomy.Name select itemTaxonomy; When I compiled it I get the error: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Linq.IOrderedQueryable<Website.Models.ItemTaxonomy>' to 'Website.Models.ItemTaxonomy'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) I believe the issue is with orderby itemTaxonomy.Taxonomy.Name but I am just trying to order by the name of Taxonomy items instead of their IDs. Is there a way to do that?

  • Inject Html Into a View Programmatically

    Hi, I have a tricky problem and I'm not sure where in the view rendering process to attempt this. I am building a simple blog/CMS in MVC and I would like to inject a some html (preferably a partial view) into the page if the user is logged in as an admin (and therefore has edit privileges). I obviously could add render partials to master pages etc. But in my system master pages/views are the "templates" of the CMS and therefore should not contain CMS specific <% % markup. I would like to hook in to some part of the rendering process and inject the html myself. Does anyone have any idea how to do this in MVC? Where would be the best point, ViewPage, ViewEngine? I'm now trying to accomplish this and is asking for a bit of advise: I'm basically trying to build a filter with 4 input elements, and 1 output. I have 4 select (drop down) elements in my page. As soon as one of them is changed, I need to build a href and get the partial view with the return values. My questionis now if I should try to build the href in the select element or if I can do it once in jquery, and don't have to have duplicated code. How would I accomplish this?

    I have a gridview inside an updatepanel. After updating the gridview, accessing the individual rows does not seem to give the right row. For example: protected void GridView1_RowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e) { GridViewRow row = ((e.CommandSource as Control).NamingContainer as GridViewRow); Row from the above code gives the values from the gridview before the gridview is refreshed/updated. Anyone knows how to get the updated values?
