  • Most efficient way to store list structure in XML

    Starting a new project and was planning on storing all of my web content in XML. I do not have access to a database so this seemed like the next best thing. One thing I'm struggling with is how to structure the XML for links (which will later be transformed using XSLT). It needs to be fairly flexible as well. Below is what I started with, but I'm starting to question it. <links> <link> <url>http://google.com</url> <description>Google</description> <link> <link> <url>http://yahoo.com</url> <description>Yahoo</description> <links> <url>http://yahoo.com/search</url> <description>Search</description> </link> <link> </links> That should get transformed into Google Yahoo Search Perhaps something like this might work better. <links> <link href="http://google.com">Google</link> <link href="http://yahoo.com">Yahoo <link href="http://yahoo.com/search">Search</link> </link> </links> Does anyone perhaps have a link that talks about structuring web content properly in XML?   • Windows Command Line

    Does anyone know how to break out of a for loop when it's typed directly into the windows command-line? I know you can use gotos and labels to break out of it when it's in a batch file, but I can't find anything about breaking out of one on the command line. Here's a simple example: C:> for /l %i in (1,0,1) do @ping -n 1 google.com || (echo ^G & msg user "Google is down!" & QUIT) This should infinitely ping google.com. If it ever fails, it beeps (echo ^G), displays a message box to the user "user" that says "Google is down!", and QUITs. I don't know how to do the quit part though. I guess I could do something like taskkill /f /im cmd.exe, but I was looking for something more elegant. Any tips?

    I know that the job would be simpler if I use Google Plugin for Eclipse. However, in my situation, I heavily adapted Maven and thus, the plugin cannot suit me. (In fact, it gave me the whole week of headache). Rather, I relied on a ant script that I learned from http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/tutorial/appengine.html The document was very clear; I follow the article and successfully invoked DevMode using ant devmode. However, the document didn't tell me about debugging GWT (like Google Plugin for Eclipse can do). Basically, I want to add some parameter to an ant task that expose a debug port (something like (com.google.gwt.dev.DevMode at localhost:58807)) so that I can connect my eclipse to. How can I do that?

    I'm trying to read in the html of a certain website. Trying @something = open("http://www.google.com/") fails with the following error: Errno::ENOENT in testController#show No such file or directory - http://www.google.com/ Going to http://www.google.com/, I obviously see the site. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
