  I've hit a brick wall: I have an SQL Function: FUNCTION [dbo].[ContactsFTS] (@searchtext nvarchar(4000)) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM Contacts INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(Contacts, *, @searchtext) AS KEY_TBL ON Contacts.Id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] which I am calling via LINQ public IQueryable<ContactsFTSResult> SearchByFullText(String searchText) { return db.ContactsFTS(searchText); } I am projecting the ContactsFTSResult collection into a List<Contact> which is then given to my viewmodel. Here is the problem: My Contacts table (and therefore the Contact object created via LINQ to SQL) has multiple FK relationships to other information, such as Contact.BillingAddressId is an FK to an Address.Id. That information is missing after I do the fulltext search (e.g. if I try to access Contact.BillingAddress it is null). Can I add this information somehow via DataLoadOptions? I tried LoadWith<Contact>(c => c.BillingAddress) but this doesn't work, I assume because of the fact that I'm calling the function instead of doing the whole query via LINQ.

• Check malicious Redirect URL in ASP.NET

  I heard of sites using other site to redirect users either to their own site or to hide behind another site. In my code i redirect in a few places such as post a comment (its easier to use a return url then figure out the page using data given). How do i check if the return URL is my own url? I think i use absolute paths so i can easily check if the first character is '/' but then i will lose relative flexibility. This also disallows me from doing http://mysite.com/blah in the redirect url. I could patch the url by adding mysite + string but i'll need to figure out if string is a relative url or already a mysite.com url. Whats the easiest way to ensure i am only redirecting to my site?

  Hay, I'm working on a simple voting system, where users can vote on a poll. My model looks like this class Poll(models.Model): question = models.CharField() votes = models.IntegerField() usersVoted = models.ManyToManyField(User) Now, i want to scan through the usersVoted field to see if a User object is in there. This User object will then be matched against a logged in User (User obj saved in a session). If the User has voted i want to be able to set a 'has_voted' field. I then want to use this field in my view. I will be using the Property() thingy inside the model to work this 'has_voted' value out. Like so def _can_vote(self): return False can_vote = property(_can_vote) Obviously it'll return a Bool. Any ideas how to search through a related field to find a specific Object?

  I have built an ERP using Sql Server as a back-end. These are the different types of Client documents (there are also Supplier Docs): Order -- impact: BO Delivery Note (also used for returns, with negative quantity) --impact: BO, Stock Invoice --impact: accounting only Credit Note --impact: accounting, BO I use a complex system of self joins (at detail level) to find out the quantities in each OrderDetail that still have a backorder (BO). It'd like to simplify this using a [group] field that could be used through all detail line related to an original order. There are many difficult things to trace: a Return of a product may be due to a defect and thus increase the BO, or it can be just a return, joined with a Credit Note, and then has no impact on BO. My question is: do you know of any real good reference (book, web) for this matter ?

  I want to have an extension method for XElement/XAttribute that allows me to apply a "ValueOrDefault" logic - perhaps with various slightly different implementations: ValueOrNull, ValueOrDefault, NumericValueOrDefault (which validates if the value is numeric), but I want to constrain these methods so that they can only work with ValueTypes or String (i.e. it does not really make sense to use any other reference types. Is it possible to do this with one implementation of each method, or will I have to have one where the constraint is "Structure" and one where the constraint is "String" - if I combine Structure and String in the generic constraint, I get the error : 'Structure' constraint and a specific class type constraint cannot be combined.   I am using the Ajax.BeginForm to create a form the will do an ajax postback to a certain controller action and then if the action is successful, the user should get redirected to another page (if the action fails then a status message gets displayed using the AjaxOptions UpdateTargetId). using (Ajax.BeginForm("Delete", null, new { userId = Model.UserId }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "UserForm", LoadingElementId = "DeletingDiv" }, new { name = "DeleteForm", id = "DeleteForm" })) { [HTML DELETE BUTTON] } If the delete is successful I am returning a Redirect result: [Authorize] public ActionResult Delete(Int32 UserId) { UserRepository.DeleteUser(UserId); return Redirect(Url.Action("Index", "Home")); } But the Home Controller Index view is getting loaded into the UpdateTargetId and therefore I end up with a page within a page. Two things I am thinking about: Either I am architecting this wrong and should handle this type of action differently (not using ajax). Instead of returning a Redirect result, return a view which has javascript in it that does the redirect on the client side. Does anyone have comments on #1? Or if #2 is a good solution, what would the "redirect javascript view" look like?

But it gets bad if you try to put breakpoint into the event. Why? I mean event is not run in the same thread that the windows hook is. That means that It shouldn't block HookCallback. It does however... I would really like to know why is this happening. My theory is that Visual Studio when breaking execution temporarily stops all threads and that means that HookCallback is blocked... Is there any book or valuable resource that would explain concepts behind all of this threading?

But, a record where both the g and g2 values are 'M' should return two lines, not 1. So, in the above sample data, I'm trying to return: $q = pg_query("SELECT id FROM mytable WHERE ( g = 'M' OR g2 = 'M' )"); 1 1 2 2 3 4 But, it always returns: 1 2 3 4

  Okay so I am looking to create a grided array in OGRE3D game engine but the array is generic my array skills are pretty basic and need work so I am posting this just to be sure I am doing this correctly. #define GRIDWIDTH 10 #define GRIDHEIGHT 10 int myGrid [HEIGHT][WIDTH]; int n,m; int main () { for (n=0;n<HEIGHT;n++) for (m=0;m<WIDTH;m++) { jimmy[n][m]=(n+1)*(m+1); } return 0; } I am assuming the above will return: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Then I can assign each point in the array to a valid node in OGRE3D to create a grid in 3D view would this work? Just need to tell me if I am doing it right or wrong dont need the ogre3d code....

  I have created a web service with JAX-WS. When the input SOAP message is not well formed or can not be validated, a soap fault is returned automatically to the caller. I dont want the caller to receive this standard SOAP message but i want to create an own custom SOAP fault. So if the call looks like this (note Envelope1, its not valid): hello a default return message is something like this: S:Client Couldn't create SOAP message due to exception: unexpected XML tag. expected: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Envelope but found: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Envelope1 I want the return message to be something like this: S:Client My own custom SOAP message! I have tried to get this to work the whole day, but i cant figure out how to do it. So if someone could help me I would be really glad!

Now I want to edit the entry. I've been using a generic function: def generic_edit(request, modelname, object_id): modelname = modelname.lower() form_class = form_dict[modelname] return update_object(request, form_class = form_class, object_id = object_id, template_name = 'createdit.html' ) but this pulls in all the info except the many-to-many selections saved to this object. I think I need to do something similar to this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1700202/editing-both-sides-of-m2m-in-admin-page, but I haven't figured it out. How do I use the generic update_object to edit the other side of many-to-many link?
