• Validate xsl fo in xslt styleesheet

  Hi, i have a little problem with validating xml, xslt in details. I have a xslt stylesheet that, transforms xml data source to xsl:fo document. Is it posible? For now I use dtd validation (I have xsd schema too) for validating Fo, but it give me an error on each xsl tag. Summary. Is it posiible to validate only fo elements against the schema, ignoring xsl tags, and how should I do it? Maybe a code snnippet in C#, or a hint how to modify documents? Thanks in advance!

• jQyery bind on ajax load() event

  Hi guys. I have a page which display multiple blocks with results details. Inside each block I have some tags with thichbox jQuery plugin attached( class="thichbox"). http://jquery.com/demo/thickbox/ here is an example of one kind of ampersant tag: <a class="thickbox" title="Please Sign In" href="userloginredir.php?height=220&width=350&deal=3"> Problem comes when I added a jQuery pagination to the page because of to many results displaying on the page. The div component with the results inside is updated through ajax load() event. I'm trying to bind the load event with something like this: content.bind('load',???); But I don't know how to pass the load params, targetUrl and the callback function hideLoading, when binding the load event. Please help me out in this matter, already took me more time than possible allowed. Thank you!

• What would I use to remove escaped html from large sets of data.

  Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. This is an example of whacko data that I have data in one field which the content I want in the front, but this part removed which is at the end: <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img> <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img> &lt;img src=&quot;http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:D7DqB2pKExk&quot; Notice how some of the images are escape and some aren't. I believe this has to do with the last part being cut off so as to be unrecognizable as an html tag, which then caused it to be html endcoded. Another field has only this which is now filtered before insertion, but I have to get rid of the others: &lt;img src=&quot;http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2183/2289902369_1d95bcdb85.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;post_img&quot; width=&quot;80&quot; (all examples are on one line, but broken up for readability) Question: What is the best way to work with the above escaped html (or portion of an html tag)? I can do it in Perl, PHP, SQL, Ruby, and even Python. I believe Perl to be the best at text parsing, so that's why I used the Perl tag. And PHP times out on large database operations, so that's pretty much out unless I wanted to do batch processing and what not. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points. • Problems with contenteditable in Firefox

  Hello, I am working on a Javascript WYSIWYG editor in Firefox. I am using a div with the contenteditable attribute set to true in order to accomplish this (I cannot use a contenteditable iframe for this particular project). This contenteditable div is nested in another div that is not contenteditable. I am encountering the following two problems when using execCommand to apply formatting, including font style and size, as well as bold, italic, and underline: When all text in the div is selected, execCommand simply does not work. execCommand works fine when only part of the text is selected, but does nothing when all of the text is selected. Applying formatting with no text selected yields unexpected results. For example, when calling execCommand('bold') with no text selected and then typing results in bold text being typed until a spacebar is inserted, at which point the bold formatting is lost (until another space is inserted, interestingly enough; then the text becomes bold again). To see what I mean, please try running the following HTML code in Firefox 3: <html> <head><title></title></head> <body> <button onClick="execCommand('bold', false, null);">Bold</button> <div style="width: 300px; border: 1px solid #000000;"> <div contenteditable="true">Some editable text</div> </div> </body> </html> Please try the following: Select the word "Some" only. Click the Bold button. This will make the text bold, as expected. Select the entire phrase "Some editable text" (either manually or using CTRL-A). Click the Bold button. Nothing happens. This demonstrates the first bug shown above. Hit the backspace key to clear the div. Click the Bold button and begin typing. Type a few words with spaces. This will demonstrate the second bug. • Flex - Issues with linkbar dataprovider

  Hello Community! I'm having some issues displaying a linkbar. The data I need to display is in a XML file. However, I couldn't get the linkbar to display a xmllist (I did indeed read that you cannot set a xmlllist as a linkbar dataprovider... ). So, I'm transforming the xmllist in a array of objects. Here is some code. • WPF Storyboard works well, except for the first time it runs. Why?

  Hi, I'm doing a Surface Application. And there I have something like a bulletin board where little cards with news on it are pinned on. On click they shall fly out of the board and scale bigger. My storyboard works well, except for the first time it runs. It's not a smooth animation then but it scales to its final size immediately and it's the same with the orientation-property. Just the center-property seems to behave correctly. • Initialization of ComboBox in datagrid, Silverlight 4.0

  I have datagrid with list of MyPlayer objects linked to ItemsSource, there are ComboBoxes inside of grid that are linked to a list of inner object, and binding works correctly: when I select one of the item then its value is pushed to data model and appropriately updated in other places, where it is used. The only problem: initial selections are not displayed in my ComboBoxes. I don't know why..? Instance of the ViewModel is assigned to view DataContext. • Dependency property does not work within a geometry in a controltemplate

  I have a DepencencyProperty (a boolean) that works fine on an Ellipse, but not on an ArcSegment. Am I doing something that is not possible? Here's part of the xaml. Both the TemplateBindings of Origin and LargeArc do not work in the geometry. But the LargeArc DependencyProperty does work in the Ellipse, so my DependencyProperty seems to be set up correctly. <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type nodes:TestCircle}"> <Canvas Background="AliceBlue"> <Ellipse Height="10" Width="10" Fill="Yellow" Visibility="{TemplateBinding LargeArc, Converter={StaticResource BoolToVisConverter}}"/> <Path Canvas.Left="0" Canvas.Top="0" Stroke="Black" StrokeThickness="3"> <Path.Data> <GeometryGroup> <PathGeometry> <PathFigure IsClosed="True" StartPoint="{TemplateBinding Origin}"> <LineSegment Point="150,100" /> <ArcSegment Point="140,150" IsLargeArc="{TemplateBinding LargeArc}" Size="50,50" SweepDirection="Clockwise"/> </PathFigure> </PathGeometry> </GeometryGroup> </Path.Data> </Path> </Canvas> </ControlTemplate> What I'm trying to build is a (sort of) pie-shaped usercontrol where the shape of the Pie is defined by DependencyProperties and the actual graphics used are in a template, so they can be replaced or customized. In other words: I would like the code-behind to be visual-free (which, I assume, is good separation). SOLUTION--------------------------(I'm not allowed to answer my own questions yet) I found the answer myself, and this can be useful for others encountering the same issue. This is why the TemplateBinding on the Geometry failed: A TemplateBinding will only work when binding a DependencyProperty to another DependencyProperty. Following article set me on the right track: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/liviuc/archive/2009/12/14/wpf-templatebinding-vs-relativesource-templatedparent.aspx The ArcSegment properties are no DependencyProperties. Thus, the solution to the above problem is to replace <ArcSegment Point="140,150" IsLargeArc="{TemplateBinding LargeArc}" with <ArcSegment Point="140,150" IsLargeArc="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}, Path=LargeArc}" Colin, your working example where an 'ordinary' binding was used in the geometry set me on the right track. BTW, love the infographics and the construction of your UserControl in your blogpost. And, hey, that quick tip on code snippets, and especially on that DP attribute and the separation of those DPs into a partial class file is pure gold!

• How to find relation between change in latitudes at centre of map and top/bottom

  Hi, Im having little trouble finding a relation between the movement at centre and edge of a circle, Im doing for panning world map,my map extent is 180,89:-180,-89, my map pans by adding change(dx,dY) to its extents and not its centre. Now a situation has arrrised where I have to move the map to a specific centre, to calculate the change in longitudes is very easy and simple, but its the change in lattitudes that has caused problem. It seems the change in centreY of map is more than the change at edge of the mapY, or simply if I have to move the map centre from 0long,0lat to 73long,33lat, for dX I simply get 73, but for dY apparently it looks 33 but if i add 33 to top of map that is 89 , it will be 122 which is incorrect since Latitudes are between 90 and -90 . It seems a case a projection of a circle on 2D plane where the edge of circle since is moving backward due to angle expereinces less change and the centre expereinces more change, now is there a relation between these two factors? I tried converting the difference between OriginY and destinationY into radians and then add to Top and Bottom of Map, but it did'nt really work for me.   Hi, I have created styled a ListBox in WPF so that it is rendered as a checkbox list. When I populate the ListBox's items manually, the styling works perfectly. However, when I instead bind the ItemsSource of the ListBox to a static resource (an ItemsControl containing the required items), the styling is completely dropped. • jquery ajax post callback - manipulation stops after the "third" call

  EDIT: The problem is not related to Boxy, I've run into the same issue when I've used JQuery 's load method. EDIT 2: When I take out link.remove() from inside the ajax callback and place it before ajax load, the problem is no more. Are there restrictions for manipulating elements inside an ajax callback function. I am using JQuery with Boxy plugin. When the 'Flag' link on the page is clicked, a Boxy modal pops-up and loads a form via ajax. When the user submits the form, the link (<a> tag) is removed and a new one is created from the ajax response. This mechanism works for, well, 3 times! After the 3rd, the callback function just does not remove/replace/append (tested several variations of manipulation) the element. The only hint I have is that after the 3rd call, the parent of the link becomes non-selectable. However I can't make anything of this. Sorry if this is a very trivial issue, I have no experience in client-side programming. What I would like to do is when I enter text and click on the submit button of the main search form, the same text gets copied in all of the secondary search forms and all the submit buttons of the secondary search forms get automatically hit. What I would like is the functionality for the user to make their selection and a new window pops up with the spec. It's all set to run on IE-7 standards mode (I'm targeting IE7 and above). I know about the separate z-stacks of IE, so by default the third DIV should be beneath the second DIV. To fix this problem there is some Javascript which sets the z-orders of first and third DIV to 1000, and the z-order of the second DIV to 999. Unfortunately this does not help. If the z-indexes were set in markup, this would work, but why not from JS? Note: This problem does not exist in IE8 standards mode, but I'm targetting IE7, so I can't rely on that. Also, if you save this to your hard drive and then open it up, at first IE complains something about ActiveX and stuff. After you wave it away, everything works as expected. But if you refresh the page, the problem is there again.

• Error in jquery attribute selector and IE6-7

  Hi, I'm trying to implement a JQuery script to process some areas inside an image map. I'm using $('area[shape="poly"]') as a selector to obtain the areas I'm interested in. It is working fine in IE8 and Firefox, but it is not selecting the elements in IE6 or IE7. This is a test page that shows this problem.
