• Soften a colour border, maybe with a gradient, programmatically.

  I have a narrow header in corporate colour, bright red, with the content below on a just-off-white background. Ive tried softening the long line where these colours meet using border type divs with intermediate backgrounds, but I think I need the original type curved gradient 'area transitions'. I could copy the 1024px wide, and too narrow (vertically), header gif from their web site, and chop it up for eight border images, but that seems clumsy, and I'm looking for something I can apply anywhere, without needing images. I am able to do round borders in the x-y plane, but I'm curious as to how I can apply a gradient to any chosen colour transition. The extra divs I'm using as border elements above and below '#top-section' arose when I was toying with making many divs for one bordered element. • Combobox INotifyPropertyChanged event not raised!!!

  I created a combobox and set observable collection as the itemsource and implemented INotifyPropertyChanged on the observable collection item. Even after that, when I select different item in the combobox, the OnPropertyChange method is not invoked. I think I am not making the binding properly. • How can I group an array of rectangles into "Islands" of connected regions?

  The problem I have an array of java.awt.Rectangles. For those who are not familiar with this class, the important piece of information is that they provide an .intersects(Rectangle b) function. I would like to write a function that takes this array of Rectangles, and breaks it up into groups of connected rectangles. Lets say for example, that these are my rectangles (constructor takes the arguments x, y, width,height): Rectangle[] rects = new Rectangle[] { new Rectangle(0, 0, 4, 2), //A new Rectangle(1, 1, 2, 4), //B new Rectangle(0, 4, 8, 2), //C new Rectangle(6, 0, 2, 2) //D } A quick drawing shows that A intersects B and B intersects C. D intersects nothing. • Using one data source across multiple views in Kendo UI SPA

  I am trying to build a Kendo UI SPA. I have two views. View 1 (appListView) shows Application Details in a grid and view 2 (activityView) will have a dropdown for application names and a grid that shows the activity for selected application As I am loading all the application details on the loading of view 1, I would like to re-use those details to populate the dropdown on view 2. Please see my code below. Everything works fine but when I go to View 2 it makes a call to the service again to get application details. I would like to use the existing data if it is already loaded and if the uses comes to view 2 directly then it should get application data also. I am not sure what I am missing in the code. • Scroll event of jquery is not working in IE 7 with IE 7 standard but works in IE8,9

  I have an example below which has a terms div which has some terms and conditions as content. When the user scroll the div to bottom, then the checkbox is enabled. This is only not working only in IE 7 with IE 7/8/9 standards (I am changing the standard options from Developer window). • What regular expression(s) would I use to remove escaped html from large sets of data.

  Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. This is an example of whacko data that I have data in one field which the content I want in the front, but this part removed which is at the end: <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img> <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img> &lt;img src=&quot;http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:D7DqB2pKExk&quot; Notice how some of the images are escape and some aren't. I believe this has to do with the last part being cut off so as to be unrecognizable as an html tag, which then caused it to be html endcoded. Another field has only this which is now filtered before insertion, but I have to get rid of the others: &lt;img src=&quot;http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2183/2289902369_1d95bcdb85.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;post_img&quot; width=&quot;80&quot; (all examples are on one line, but broken up for readability) Question: What is the best way to work with the above escaped html (or portion of an html tag)? I can do it in Perl, PHP, SQL, Ruby, and even Python. I believe Perl to be the best at text parsing, so that's why I used the Perl tag. And PHP times out on large database operations, so that's pretty much out unless I wanted to do batch processing and what not. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points. • ASP.NET Elements are null when assigning data source

  For some reason, all of the objects in my ASP.NET markup are now null when I try to assign values to their properties in the code behind. My project was going fine and then now when I try to assign a data source to a GridView, I get a null reference error. I have no idea why it's doing this. I am not doing nothing special. I am just trying to assign a value to a property to an asp.net element in on the page. The intellisense knows that the element is there and I get no errors when I build the project. It's just when I am running the website I get the null reference. I have been trying to fix this issue for a couple weeks now. Please Help. Thanks.   Using the jQuery below to toggle the hiding and showing of divs of text: how would I add some sort of indicator - like an up and down arrow as a graphic - to the titles when the divs are either open and closed? What's the best way to do that? Two images? A CSS sprite? And most importantly: how would that be integrated into the JS? I've looked at other jQuery that assigns a random number to each div and then determines which are open and which are closed and toggles one of two images. But I'm using php in a WordPress loop to show a posts, and that gives problems with incrementing in the loop, so there must be an easier way that doesn't require changes in the name of the title div.   There are two tables in postgres db. english_all and english_glob First table contains words like international,confidential,booting,cooler ...etc I have written the function to get the words from english_all then perform for loop for each word to get word list which are not inserted in anglish_glob table. Word list is like I In Int Inte Inter .. b bo boo boot .. c co coo cool etc.. for some reason zwnj(zero-width non-joiner) is added during insertion to english_all table. But in function I am removing that character with regexp_replace. • Alter highchart output to display start - end date

  I currently have the following highchart which display a start date and outputs the values for the next 31 days of data. Does anyone know how I may improve on this to include and end date so that I can filter the data by smaller specific amounts? On the x-axis I am also trying to only display labels that have data attached to them and hide any others. Any help is appreciated. • Memory Leak with jQuery UI inside UpdatePanel in ie7

  I have a fairly complex asp.net page based on UpdatePanels and jQuery UI. Unfortunately, when the panels update, the jQuery UI widgets leak memory like crazy in ie7, even if I manually 'destroy' them. Does anyone know a technique/patch to prevent these leaks? I've created a simple example page with a slider inside an UpdatePanel.   Firstly, I'm sort of embarrassed asking about this, so many people have already asked this question but even after having gone through so many posts, I'm unable to achieve what I want. Basically, a div, initially hidden, has to be displayed on a button click. I tried hiding the div using display:none and hide() and then displaying it using show(), toggle(), and css("display","block"). Using all sorts of combinations of the above, I was still unable to get the result. I'm using jquery liberally in the sight, so that is at my disposal. This form is in the header so any id info, etc can't be withing the body tag... • extra white line under li items that have no border

  I have a problem with extra white lines showing up under my list items. It's not a border as I haven't set any borders, except the one under My Account, it's just to show that the white line is not a border. The one under it is -- a 4px border the same color as the background. This problem occurred after I had resolved a conflict between my Nivo Slider and the Woocommerce plugin on my WP site. I got both of them to work together, but then this other issue with the list cropped up. Any ideas as to what caused this and how to fix it?
