  • Why are downloads from Canonical Partners repository so slow?

    If I need Sun Java, Adobe Flash Plugin or anything else that comes from Canonical Partners the package downloads are painfully slow even small sized packages like the Flash plugin, to speed things up I have to go here: http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/pool/partner/ to find what I want, download the packages with a download manager (which is usually about 20 times faster than the package manager) and then place them in my /var/cache/apt/archives folder I run the package manager afterwards, as long as the right versions of the packages I ask to install are detected in the /var/cache/apt/archives folder they will be installed immediately. I would like to stop doing this, so I am wondering if anyone else has this problem, what could be the cause and if there is a fix. I am located in the Western Caribbean region. I think it would be helpful to note that all other packages coming from the repository I have selected with synaptic download at acceptable speeds.

  • How i can create reusable component which contains assets in Flash CS5

    I need to create slideshow for gallery. And one thing that i don't know is how to create reusable components. For example i want to create 3 components ImageLoader, Dock(that consist drom ImageLoaders) and SlideShow(that consists from Dock and ImageLoaders). ImageLoader it is a container which loads image and while it loading showing some animation. Dock it is a container wich have few of ImageLoaders, it used to create Dock of thumbs images to chose. SlideShow it is a container wich have few of ImageLoaders, it used to preload images to ImageLoaders and the change them on mouse click. I need that all of this components was accessible fom action script, so i can create new instances of them. Example code: im1 = new ImageLoader('../im1s.jpg'); im2 = new ImageLoader('../im2s.jpg'); dock = new Dock(new Array(im1,im2)); ss = new SlideSHow(new Array(im1,im2),dock); ss.init(); Will be greatfull for help. P.S. I new in Flash

  • Glassfish complaining about JSF component IDs

    Hello All I am very new to JSF (v2.0) and I am attempting to learn it at places like netbeans.org and coreservlets.com. I am working on a very simple "add/subtract/multiply/divide" Java webapp and I have run into a problem. When I first started out, the application was enter two numbers and hit a '+' key and they would be automatically added together. Now that I have added more complexity I am having trouble getting the operation to the managed bean. This is what I had when it was just "add": <h:inputText styleClass="display" id="number01" size="4" maxlength="3" value="#{Calculator.number01}" /> <h:inputText styleClass="display" id="number02" size="4" maxlength="3" value="#{Calculator.number02}" /> <h:commandButton id="add" action="answer" value="+" /> For the "answer" page, I display the answer like this: <h:outputText value="#{Calculator.answer}" /> I had the proper getters and setters in the Calculator.java managed bean and the operation worked perfectly. Now I have added the other three operations and I am having trouble visualizing how to get the operation parameter to the bean so that I can switch around it. I tried this: <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="+" /> <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="-" /> <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="*" /> <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="/" /> However, Glassfish complained that I have already used "operation" once and I am trying to use it four times here. Any adivce/tips on how to get multiple operations to the managed bean so that it can preform the desired operation? Thank you for taking the time to read.

  • Why does jQuery's $().each() function seem to be losing track of the DOM?

    I've recently started encountering a very strange problem. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how to describe it other than to just show it. Here's the relevant HTML: <div class="component container w100 noEdit" id="contentWrapper"> <div class="component container w50" id="container1"> <div class="component text w50" id="text1"> Text1 </div> </div> <div class="component container w25" id="container2"> Container2 </div> <div class="component container w25" id="container3"> Container3 </div> <div class="component container w25" id="container4"> Container4 </div> </div> And the relevant JavaScript: $(document).ready(function () { //Add the Grab Bar to container components on the page. $('.component').each(wrapComponentForEdit); $('#contentWrapper').sortable(); $('#contentWrapper').disableSelection(); }); var wrapComponentForEdit = function() { if (!$(this).hasClass('noEdit')) { $(this).html('<div class="componentBorder">' + $(this).html() + '</div>'); $(this).prepend('<div class="grabBar_l"><div class="grabBar_r"><div class="grabBar"></div></div></div>'); alert($(this).attr('id')); } } The end result of this is that I see an alert pop up for container1, text1, container2, container3, container 4. And yet only the containers (not the text) end up with the visual changes that the $().each() is supposed to make. Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on? Thanks!   • Java: pass an event to another component

    Sorry I don't know if this is very clear, but I'm pretty new to Java. So I have a JFrame with a BorderLayout containing a JPanel and a JButton. What I want to do is when something happens in my JPanel, I want for example change the text of the JButton, or enable/disable it. How would I do that? How can I access the JButton from the JPanel? I know some ways of doing it but I don't think they're the best way to do it. What would be the best way to do this? Thanks in advance

    Hi, I have almost completed my Android application so am considering ways of distributing the application. I have seen some applications on Market have free limited/locked version and separate Unlock Key/License Key which unlocks extra functionality. How is this done? Has anyone here done this? If so, how well does it work? I am thinking maybe this is better then having two versions of the same application (i.e Lite and Pro). Thanks.

    Hey, I have a list control and i want the user to be able to select many items at a time. Thus I want it to act that if the control key is pressed while he is clicking. Eg if he clicks on a selected row it should become unselected and if he clicks on a unselected row it should become selected. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thanks, Dennis

Then i removed the lines by opening the .java file in txt editor , but one of them keep coming back when i do anything with netBeans editor , So i want to delete this line from the netbeans itself . this is the line historyList = java.beans.Beans.isDesignTime() ? java.util.Collections.emptyList() : ((javax.persistence.Query)null).getResultList(); and this is its declaration private java.util.List<idetect.History> historyList;

    Hey stackoverflow :) I wanna use webbrowser control in c++(im using dev cpp). Ages ago when i was using VB6 i just added webbrowser control (C:\Windows\System32\shdocvw.dll) to my form and it worked but im lost in C++... should i load it dynamically with LoadLibrary and then somehow put it on my dialog window or how? I also wanna use all features like navigate to page, edit html elements, submit a form, read page source, ... Someome got some snippet? Cheers

    Hi, I am working for a project on disaster management sponsered by World Bank, under this project i have assigned work on CMS. and my senior has asked me to make a ASP.NET webpage where those logged with administrator privilege will be able to edit the page. like:- <div id="mydiv"><pre>+++++++MY CONTENT+++++++++++++++++++</pre></div> now if if the admin clicks on mydiv he should be able to edit the pre contents. for this i got many options such as WYSIWYG editors (but they work on textboxs only and further more they cant save the data back to server replacing the previous content) then I came to know about Webparts , but its editing capabilities was so low that my plan for implementing a WYSIWYG editor went in vain. so I m seeking help from u all is their any way to achieve the motive, it would be better if u can suggest something like incorporating WYSIWYG into webpartmanager editor...     I am overriding System.IdentityModel.Policy.IAuthorizationPolicy.Evaluate as follows: public bool Evaluate(EvaluationContext evaluationContext,ref object state) { var ids = (IList<IIdentity>)evaluationContext.Properties["Identities"]; var userName = ids[0].Name; // look up "userName" in a database to check for app. permissions } Recently one of the users had her user name changed in Active Directory. She is able to login to her Windows box fine with her new user name, but when she tries to run the client side of our application, the server gets her old user name in the "userName" variable in the code above, which messes up our authentication (since her old user name is no longer in our database). Another piece of info: This only happens when she connects to the server code on the Production server. We have the same server code running on a QA server, and it does not have this issue (the QA server code gets her correct (new) user name) Any ideas what could be going on?

  • Joomla Mailto Component unable to send mails occassionally

    Greetings, I will certainly hope someone will be able to provide some enlightenment to my problem. Currently, I have 2 joomla sites, layout and menus are a replicate of the other. I noticed that on both Joomla, I will occasionally encounter "Unable to send mail" after a form submission. Is this the fault of my server, or the fault of Joomla's PHP Mailer ? I will certainly love to approach my hosting company for a solution but I do not want to place a false accusation on them.

  • jQuery does not work anymore after re-rendring any RichFaces component

    I have a page which contains following components: 1 Button 1 drop down list using jQuery 1 button whose on click event changes a text box value using jQuery 2 another buttons shown on hover If I change the dropdown value, or press a button, then the page is re-rendered by ajax. After that, jQuery does not work anymore. If I refresh the page, then jQuery works fine. How is this caused and how can I solve it?

But when the execution reaches the statement PortAccess.Output(888,0); it throws the above exception. The PortAccess class is defined in the inpout32.dll file which i downloaded from www.logix4u.net. Can anyone help me with this?
