  • Using a pre-existing function for a new row

    I have an Excel document that contains X columns and N number of rows. The very last column of a row performs a SUM of the first X-1 columns. The problem I have is, the user of this Excel document progressively adds rows to the document, and because of this, the function does not exist yet in the last column for new rows. I need a way to have this function exist in new rows dynamically (the user is not Excel-savvy and doesn't have the ability to just drag the function down a row).

  • How do I reorder the playlist items in the VLC playlist window?

    In the VLC playlist window, I can't seem to drag the items around to change their order. Is that normal? In every other media player I've used before, this is possible. At the moment I'm resorting to clicking the title to sort the list in an order which is what I want, but I can't guarantee I'll always have the titles so correct! UPDATE No one? I'd have though this would be a staple feature...

  • Dragging a window makes it become choppy

    On my old computer when you drag a window around, it seems to be cut up (like what you'd see in remote desktop on a slow connection) and its becoming really annoying. A few weeks when I was transferring data from it to my new laptop and it was working fine then however when I started it a few minutes ago this issue occurred. I tried restarting several time with no luck. OS: Windows XP Professional Graphics Card: nVidia 9600GT

  • SQL Server without Powershell

    I'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 Express Edition, and it's demanding Windows Powershell and refusing to proceed with the installation. Is there any way to get it to install without Powershell? (The reason I'm asking is not so much for myself personally as to reduce the number of headaches through which I'm going to have to drag other people when I tell them my program needs SQL Server.)

  • How to prevent windows from being resized?

    Adobe Audition is really stupid in that when you change the size of the window, and then change it back to the original size, all the frame positions are lost and you have to tediously reposition them by hand. I'd like to make it completely impossible to ever resize the window, just keep it maximized at all times. If I accidentally click "Restore" or drag the title bar, it should either ignore it, or move around the screen while staying the same size. Is there any way to do this?

  • Preventing folders from being moved in Outlook folder list

    In the Outlook "folder list", it is quite easy to accidentally pickup a folder and move that into another folder. There is no undo for this, and I have not found a way to prevent this. I thought it was just me, but I recently saw a coworker do the same thing while filing mail via drag and drop. We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007.

  • How can I export a folder with many subfolders w/ all msgs in eml format from Thunderbird

    I'm trying to export a very large folder that has emails and many subfolders into a folder on the file system with the same structure and where all the emails are in .eml format. Or I'd like to export the messages in a way that they are easy to import in to Thunderbird. I can't seem to find a way except slowly drag and drop the email messages, while manually creating each folder, and that could take days to do, so I need a better method.

    I have my msn email account setup with a bunch of folders to put all my different emails in. I don't use rules, just drag and drop sort. On my current computer, I have it go to outlook, and all the folders pop up fine. But I set that up 4 years ago, and now I'm setting up a new laptop and have no idea how to get it going again.     Hi, When I burn my files to a DVD using the Windows 7 drag and drop I can't actually see my files. Windows doesn't seem to finsih the DVD, even though I have followed the steps to do this. When I put the dvd in my XP machine it can see the files - so I know they are definatley being written correctly. Why can't I seem to finsh the DVD correctly? Is there some view I have set to see files already written? Thanks

When the download links are in large numbers then there are scroll bars. I find it difficult to scroll up and then select and then drag down to select all links. Q1 For example, in Paint.Net, whenever I move mouse cursor, I can immediately see the feedback from bottom-right corner (x, y), how can I see such info in photoshop while I use eyedropper function? Q2 For example, when in crop mode, I drag-drop a rectangle but I cannot see the size of the created region of interest? Thank you

    I know how to do it in the Windows version of Word but I can't work out how in the Mac version. In Windows there's a crop tool where you can just drag to move the edges in to crop the image, how do I do that on the Mac? Also on the old version of Windows there was a command to delete the cropped sections of all images in a document to save file space, I can't find that in Word 2007 or Word for Mac.

    I often come into the following situation: Get an email with attachment in MS Outlook Open that attachment in MS Word Starting to edit the document in MS Word Start replying to the email in MS Outlook Getting the edited document into my reply I have to save that file to disk and then drag it as attachment. I would think of a short way to get that document as attachement in the newly generated email. Is there a way to implement a save location as clipboard or just a copy to clipboard (the document, not the content)?

The problem is that notepad++ does not detect the right formating for the file because the extension is .txt. If I drag the file on the desktop an double click all is working. Why change Thunderbird the file name on opening? I am working on Windows 7.

    Whenever I drag or resize a window near any edge or corner of either monitor, Windows wants to maximize or resize the window for me in several different ways: dragging a window near a corner offers resize to full-screen dragging directly to the corner offers half-screen maximize resizing to top or bottom edges offers a vertical maximize (one long strip from top to bottom) Actually, now that I think about it the 3rd one isn't so bad, its just the full and half-screen maximize features that drives me mad. Is there a way to determine who dropped a mail item in an Exchange 2003 public folder, so that we can have some accountability? I double click a file in the folder (or click on WMP shortcut), WMP opens, and I drag the other files or folders manually to the playlist. Isn't there an option to add a right-click context menu item that can automatically add all audio contents in a folder (with subfolders) to WMP playlist?
