    I am trying to: 1) create a dynamic property 2) bind that property to a label This works great for "sealed properties", but for dynamic properties there doesn't appear to be any event triggered. Are dynamic properties implicityly not bindable? var myObj:MyType = new MyType(); // MyType is dynamic myObj["myDynamicPropertyName"] = "initialized"; BindingUtils.bindProperty(myLabel, "data", myObj, repeatedLabel.name); // myLabel now displays "initialized" myObj["myDynamicPropertyName"] = "changed"; // myLabel still displays "initialized", it should say "changed" !!!

    Hi all, I have a requirement of sorting the <ename> in the XML with in the branch. The XML goes like this: <company> <branch> <name>finance</name> <emp> <ename>rahul</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>sunil</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>akash</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>alok</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> </branch> <branch> <name>finance</name> <emp> <ename>sameer</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>rahul</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>anand</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> <emp> <ename>sandeep</ename> <phno>123456</phno> </emp> </branch> </company> I tried it with taking XML in XMLList: var xl:XMLList = new XMLList(branch.ename) var xlc:XMLListCollection = new XMLListCollection(xl); then applied sort to the <ename>. I am able to get the sorted but XMLListCollection but the problem is I got the <ename> collection sorted but I need the sorted <ename> in the XML. I tried with deleting the the item in Collection then adding the sorted list but in that case the <name> is lost. Please help me out in sorting <ename> or is there any way to specify nested tags in SortField name? Thanks in advance.

    Hi, We have an AIR app and using a datagrid. We want to store the dataGrid.columns array in mySQL DB through PHP. This is needed because the user can customise the column headers of the datagrid and his preference needs to be stored and shown to him on his next login. Using HTTPService, we tried sending the dataGrid.columns array as a string, as follows, var ht:HTTPService = new HTTPService(); ht.url = Config.getServerURL(); ht.method = URLRequestMethod.POST; ht.resultFormat = "text"; ht.request["action"] = "updateGrid"; ht.request["headercolumns"] = colsArray.toString(); The data is stord as comma separated array string in DB. When we retrieve it back, cannot seem to cast it back to the DatagridColumns and assign it. Please let me know. Regards Jada.

  • "freeze" one column in flex datagrid

    I'm using a datagrid to display a column of date ranges and several columns of data. I'd like to make the first column (the date ranges) fixed; i.e. that column stays in place when the user scrolls the other columns. That way, the dates column will always be visible as the user scrolls through many data columns. I don't see a datagrid property for this; anyone have a solution? TIA

  • flex List Size not updating when itemRenderer resizes itself

    I've got a list with a custom itemRenderer that's just a rectangle of specific size. The list <s:List id="thelist" width="100%" dataProvider="{thelistdata}" itemRenderer="ListItem" borderVisible="true" /> Note the list's border is visible to help with debugging The itemRenderer <s:Rect id="box" width="50" height="50"> <s:fill> <s:SolidColor color="blue"/> </s:fill> </s:Rect> When the itemRenderer receives an event, it changes its size to half box.width = 25; box.height = 25; I see the itemRenderers are resizing themselves correctly, but the list itself stays the same size and the border stays where it is. Anyone knows how to fix this bug. Basically the list should refresh its size too to fit the smaller boxes.

    I do not know why but I see that itemclick event on a menubar do not fired unless you click a sub item. What is the clean way to handle clicks on menuitems which are on the top level and do not have sub menu items.   • Flex datagrid - determining when grid has completed renderering?

    hi, i have a datagrid which contains a number of itemrenderers, it is populated each time a user does a search. Is there an event which can tell me when the datagrid has completed rendering all new rows and item renderers? I need to trigger an event once everything has been created so that i can resize then container which holds the grid. Currently im using DataGridEvent.HEADER_RELEASE and CollectionEvent.COLLECTION_CHANGE events to manage this however the problem with these events is that they get called as each new row is being added to the datagrid. therefore the whole process is becoming sluggish. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    i wrote the following code for draw a rotate rectangle var s:UIComponent = new UIComponent(); s.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0x0000FF); s.graphics.drawRect(50, 50, 200, 200); s.rotation = 30; template.addChild(s); where template is a canvas. Its rotate nicely but the problem is the position is not in right place. i.e. it is not in (50,50) after rotate. How can i solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

So I added a skinClass, but looks like in the documentation, there's no skin part to target the button specifically. Do I have to style the mx:TabNavigator itself to accomplish this? It will have some section labels in it, with users expected to enter notes for each section, and it needs a place holder for a chart. The trick is that the user needs to know where page breaks are going to fall when printed. The customer agrees to fixed size paper with fixed sized margins. How should I approach this challenge? Thank you very much for your suggestions. Here is an example: Section 1: Explain Idea Here { As user types in this section, the space between this section and the next section expands, but I as the user can't delete the lines that say Section 1 or 2, or the place holder for the chart. However if I type a lot of text, I need to display where the page breaks are with a dashed line or something, so the user can make sure the content enters appears on the desired page.
