• Can an SATA hard drive image be restored onto an SSD?

  I'm currently using an SATA hard drive on my primary dev machine, but planning to upgrade to an SSD at some point soon. I use TrueImage on a regular basis to make backups, and to upgrade my harddrive without reinstalling everything. Will I be able to restore and boot onto an SSD? Will there be a performance hit or other issues to watch out for?

• firefox 12 turn off Inspect Element (Q)

  Go the new FF12 and I hit the "Inspect Element (Q)", i'm use to hitting "Inspect" and getting FireBug, now i get the FF inspection tool. It looks nice, but how do i turn it off? Not disable it, but stop inspecting the current page? I have to close the tab, when working on a large web application, have to sign back in and re-setup everything i was testing to get back to a normal view. Big waste of time.

• No outbound connections for apache2

  I'm unable to hit my server from a browser on another machine (it gives a 'connection has timed out' error), although typing http://localhost or http://my-ip-here works from the browser within the machine. I can ping and ssh into the server from other machines; it just seems like apache is rejecting the port-80 browser connections. What can I do to further diagnose/fix this problem? • Logitech keboard wrong keys under MAC OSX

  I have a Logitech MK250 keyboard I use with my Macbook. One day the "minor/mayor than" and the "back slash" keys flip their functionality, so I have to hit "backslash" to get a "minor than" symbol and press the "alt + minor than" key to get the "backslash". Is there any way to reverse this annoying behavior? I often switch to Windows, where the keys work the expected way, and I'm always missing the right key.

• Windows "save" dialog listing files in reverse alphabetical order by default

  Imagine this: no matter which software, when I hit "SAVE", the file explorer dialog that appears is listing my files in reverse-alpha order. This happens by default on all folders and is just an annoyance because on each folder i have to set the view pane to Details then re-sort in alpha order. Browsing through my PC just using explorer works fine, this happens only on SAVE or OPEN dialog boxes (regardless of the software). Any trick to reset this to alpha order globally? thanks!

• Launching new Chrome window at a certain screen position (osx)

  I have bought Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. It's working just as I want it except that "back" button on the right side. I constantly hit it with the thumb and browser goes back. I am not used to this behavior, since my older mouse didn't have such a button. I just want to get rid of it -- disable the button once and forever, so if I clicked it -- nothing should happen.

• ubuntu gnome short cut keys

  Hi, I have done something quite silly and not sure how to fix it. I modified some of the gnome keyboard short cuts and was trying to disable the "Run Application" command. In the process I assigned it to the delete key and every time I hit delete the "Run Application" window comes up. It would not normally be a problem but the "Keyboard Shortcuts" no long has the short cut in the window so I can't disable it. Any help advice would be appreciated. Cheers Ben

• Why are there many processes listed under the same title in htop?

  Can anyone explain to me why there are sometimes 10 or 15 processes with the same title and "stats" listed in htop? I'm guessing there are multiple threads running - but that many of them obviously couldn't be running concurrently. Is there any sort of performance hit taken if a process uses say, 15 non-concurrent threads vs. 10 non-concurrent threads?

  I am using firefox 14 and lately, I have been observing this weird problem with my firefox. Everytime I put an address in address bar and hit return, https version of the site opens. This has no problem to me but some of my the sites which do not support https can not be opened without typing full http:// followed by the site . I am not using https enabling extension. No extensions were changed when this problem popped up.

  I have a standard CMS-like RewriteRule set up in my .htaccess: RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?slug=$1 Let's say I have a directory called "foo" in the root directory. For some reason, if you hit the page it causes a redirect: http://www.mysite.com/foo -- http://www.mysite.com/foo?slug=foo Removing the directory fixes the problem, but unfortunately, it's not an option.   After searching serverfault for similar questions without success, these are my numbers for one magento instance, running on multiple servers: After varnish about 4 requests per second hit the webservers The magento cache is configured to use one separate memcache server where I'm measuring about 210 Mbit/s bandwith usage. Compared to other projects, magento and non-magento, this number seems way off (as in extremely high). I'd like to get some data to compare to, or even better, if you have any idea what exactly causes this/how to find it and how to improve the situation.
