  • Raid 5 mdadm Problem - Help Please

    My Raid 5 array (4 1tb Disks WD10EARS) had was showing as degraded. For the first bullet, any non-Microsoft signed application I launch should run as the Guest account. [I am rather new to Java and Object Oriented programming] I have an abstract class Moveable with the method abstract void move() which is extended by the class Bullet and the abstract class Character, and Character is extended by the class Survivor and the class Zombie. In Survivor and Bullet the move() method doesnt require any parameters while in the class Zombie the move() method depends on the actual position of the survivor. The survivor and multiple zombies are created in the class Gui. I wanted to access the survivor in Zombie - what's the best way of doing this? In Gui i wrote a method getSurvivor() but i don't see how to access this method in Zombie? I am aware that as a workaround i could just pass a [Survivor survivor] as parameter in move() and ignore it in Bullet and Survivor, but that feels so ... bad practice. Thank you for your time!     Hi, I know there are things out there to help to optimize queries, ect... but is there anything else, something like a full package that can scan your database and highlight all the performance issues, naming conventions, tables not properly normalized, etc? I know this is the job of a DBA and if the DBA is good, he shouldn't need a tool like that, but sometimes you start a new job, you get in charge of an existing database and the DB is a mess, so you don't know where to start...     Hi, My code is ion cocos2D. I have written code for generating the bullets from the enemy gun for every 0.3seconds. The enemySprite is in right side of the screen in (land scape mode) at winSize.height/2. the bullet starts from the same point and reach the player's end. I used rand() to generate y-coordinate for the bullet to hit on player side. Now, if the bullet bounded rectangle meets the player bounded rectangle the enemy won. If it misses enemy shoots again after 0.3 seconds. Every thing is fine up to here for me. But I have 10 enemies and each have accuracy of hitting player of probabilities ranging from 0.80 to 1.0. First enemy probability is .80 and 10 enemy's is 1.0. How can I adjust the probability for enemy such that it runs according to its probability. Player also hits the enemy.

    To know whether two sprites cross each other or not, should we use NSMutableArray to store the sprites ? In my game one fixed sprite(player) is there. And the other is a bullet fired and if this sprite intersects player sprite, then enemy won. I have used NSMutable Array to store the bullet sprites. If I do not use NSMutableArray then even though the the bullet intersects player it is not recognizing the intersection ? I am using ( (CGRectIntersectsRect(bulletRect, playerRect)). Thank You.

  • IOS4 UISplitViewController in Portrait Orientation with RootViewController showing like Landscape

    In IOS 3.2 I was able to display my UISplitViewController side by side like in landscape mode. In IOS 4.2 the RootViewController (MasterView) is not showing up in portrait mode. Does anyone know if we need to display the rootviewcontroll in a popover? Can we display it side by side like how it is in landscape mode? I want to avoid having to click on a button to show the masterview (when in portrait mode)

    Is there an easy way to setup an environment on one machine (or a VM) with MySQL replication? I would like to put together a proof of concept of MySQL replication with one Master write instance and two slave instances for reads. I can see doing it across 2 or 3 VMs running on my computer, but that would really bog down my system. I'd rather have everything running on the same VM.   • UILabel to render partial character using clip

    I want a UILabel to render a partial character by setting the lineBreakMode to clip. But it is clipping the entire character. Is there a different way to clip a word so that only partial character is displayed? Lets say I have a string like: "Hello Word" and that string is in a myLabel with a width that only fits the 5 characters and part of the "W" I want it still to render part of the "W" and not drop it from the render.

    Hi All, I am trying to implement ScoreNinja into one of my apps. It all seems to work, but when I submit a score it replaces the current #1 score with any that I supply, even it is lower. This means that only one score is ever displayed. Anyone got any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have e-mailed the dev but he/they haven't responded.
