• not able to boot through pendrive and run set up

  I have dell inspiron, previously i have install ubuntu 11.10 on my win7 and make it dual boot. but since i want to upgrade my ubuntu version and change the partion spacing, i have delete 11.10 partion directly and extend my hardrive space(windows + ubuntu) at that moment everything is fine. then i have put 12.04 version pendrive in usb boot from usb and install the 12.04 32 bit . it was installed but can't showing dual boot option like 11.10 and my machine directly boot into win7 . so instantly i again delete my 12.04 partion . Now i am able to login into win7 but whenever i put pendrive(12.04) into usb drive i am facing error of "grub rescue" even though i try to put lower version(11.04) it showing another error "Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot " i have reinstall win7 and reformat all partion still i am facing same error :( i need help badly.

• Rotate camera around player and set new forward directions

  I have a 3rd person camera which can rotate around the player. When I look at the back of the player and press forward, player goes forward. Then I rotate 360 around the player and "forward direction" is tilted for 90 degrees. So every 360 turn there is 90 degrees of direction change. For example when camera is facing the right side of the player, when I press button to move forward, I want player to turn to the left and make that the "new forward". I have Player object with Camera as child object. Camera object has Camera script. Inside Camera script there are Player and Camera classes. Player object itself, has Input Controller. Also I'm making this script for joystick/ controller primarily.   Hello, In my application I the next task that has not already been done by a user. I have Three models, A Book that has many Tasks and then I have a User that has has and belongs to many tasks. The table tasks_users table contains all completed tasks so I need to write a complex query to find the next task to perform. I have came up with two solutions in pure SQL that works, but I cant translate them to rails, thats what I need help with SELECT * FROM `tasks` WHERE `tasks`.`book_id` = @book_id AND `tasks`.`id` NOT IN ( SELECT `tasks_users`.`task_id` FROM `tasks_users` WHERE `tasks_users`.`user_id` = @user_id) ORDER BY `task`.`date` ASC LIMIT 1; and equally without nested select SELECT * FROM tasks LEFT JOIN tasks_users ON tasks_users.tasks_id = task.id AND tasks_users.user_id = @user_id WHERE tasks_users.task_id IS NULL AND tasks.book_id = @book_id LIMIT 1; This is what I Have done in rails with the MetaWhere plugin book.tasks.joins(:users.outer).where(:users => {:id => nil}) but I cant figure out how to get the current user there too, Thanks for any help!

  I am working on a Rails application which uses categories for items. My category model is self-joined so that categories can be nested: class Category < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :items # Self Join (categories can have subcategories) has_many :subcategories, :class_name => "Category", :foreign_key => "parent_id" belongs_to :parent, :class_name => "Category" ... end I have a form which allows a user to create an item which currently lists all categories in a select, but they are all listed together: <%= f.label :category_id %> <%= select :item, :category_id, Category.all.collect {|c| [ c.title, c.id ]} %> So the select looks something like this: Category1 Category2 Category3BelongsTo2 Category4BelongsTo1 But what I want is: Category1 - Category4BelongsTo1 Category2 - Category3BelongsTo2 Is there a helper for this (which would be awesome!)? If not, how could I accomplish this? Thanks!

  I am developing an online shop which has managed to agree with other shops to a comission per sale. Now, the problem, is these other shops don't have any kind of affiliate system. So my question is, is there any way we could arrange an easy way for this? They don't plan to develop anything as they are small shops, so... my only guess right now is to control on my site how many times the links to them have been clicked to have an estimate of potential clients, but don't know how they can know that user came through my site and purchased something.   Possible Duplicate: How to revert to GNOME Classic? is it possible to change general view in Ubuntu 12.04 so it was like in Ubuntu 10.04? I really liked old one and really don't like new one. Things that are annoying me: menu on the left with large icons lack of workspaces icons in right bottom corner lack of menu: Applications, Places, System in left top corner menu like: file | edit | view | help resize and red cross is available in all applications at the very top of the pulpit, unless at the very top of the application window I know it may sound crazy, but that's all me, don't like changes despite that I know they are often good. I would be very grateful for any help. I really want old view (exactly like here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2d/UbuntuMaverickDesktop.png) back. By the way, if I installed Ubuntu 12.04 by WUBI from Windows level on separated partition, then what is the easiest way to uninstall it? Can I simply format this partition? I'm wondering because I don't know if it is safe, what about boot loader etc.

I know that using the following formula from Excel: =FACT(selections)/(FACT(selections-doubles))/FACT(doubles) This is coded into my app and working well: I can work out how many possible doubles (e.g., AB, AC, AD, AE, BC, BD, BE, etc.) need to be resolved. But what I can't figure out is how to do the actual calculation. How can I efficiently code it so that every combination of A, B, C, and D has been calculated? All my efforts thus far on paper have proved to be ugly and verbose: is there an elegant solution to this problem?

  I am using Linux Mint 13 with Cinnamon. I have a problem setting an application to open a file with some extension when the application is actually only extracted, not really installed using apt-ger or .deb file. For example - Blender. You can download a .tar.gz from official site which you then extract and you can just run the app. However, it isn't listed in the default apps list (Right Clickon file - Open with other application - Show all installed apps). So now I have to always open the application first and open the file from there. How can I solve this?

  I installed Ubuntu 12.04 in my Ideapad S100 it look seem perfect after I installed it, but when i tried to connect my phone via bluetooth, i cannot enable the slide button in the Bluetooth setting and it keeps returning back to "OFF" and the visible button is also in Disable mode. I already tried other solution like installing Blueman, re-write code such as rfkill bluetooth and this echo disable /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth. It still doesn't work at all, and regarding to my Wi-Fi i don't have any issue on it.

  All I want to do is access the <body element from the code-behind of a content page and add a class name to it. I have a top-level master page with the <body element in it. Then I have a nested master page which is the master page for the content page. From the code behind of the content page I want to add a class name to the body element. That's all. I have this in the top-level master: <body id="bodyNode" runat="server"> I added this to the code-behind for the content page: Master.bodyNode.Attributes.add("class", "home-page"); And I get a message that: System.Web.UI.MasterPage' does not contain a definition for 'bodyNode If I add this to the aspx content page: <% @ MasterType VirtualPath="~/MasterPage.master"%> The message then changes to: bodyNode is inaccessible due to its protection level Please advise, I've wasted like 2 hours on what feels like something that should be really simple to do :(

  I am trying to create an app similar to the Yahoo Stocks app that comes on the iPhone, with the split-screen interface (table on the top, graph on the bottom). I'm struggling with the view hierarchy. What is the easiest way to implement a split-screen type of application. I basically want two views nested in a parent view. My problem is a little bit more complex because I want functionality like having a uipagecontrol (does this require another viewcontroller, or is simply implemented in the initial view controller)? To what degree do I need to use IB? I would prefer to do this all in Xcode. Thanks in advance!

  Many years ago we purchased a domain from Yahoo. Now our website is hosted on Amazon EC2. The output of an SPF checking tool (http://www.kitterman.com/getspf2.py) says SPF records are primarily published in DNS as TXT records. The TXT records found for your domain are: i=182&m=bizmail-mx2-p9 SPF records should also be published in DNS as type SPF records. No type SPF records found. Checking to see if there is a valid SPF record. No valid SPF record found of either type TXT or type SPF. Where do I get access to these values? Can somebody speculate, where can I find an interface, or a configuration file to fill in the missing fields?

  Hi Nested layouts do not work in Rails 3. After I hit this I tried Rails Guides Example on a blank project (both ruby 1.9.1 and 1.8.7). LocalJumpError no block given on line <%= yield :stylesheets %. If you remove this line you will get the same error on the next yield statement. Could someone fix(patch) this? It's probably just a matter of calling block_given? in the right place. That would be great. Thanks Added on 4/3: Rails 3 beta 2 released. Problem fixed.
