Since a colleague and me are working on the server almost all the time and another colleague also wants to connect there is always the need to disconnect one user which is bad. Is there a possibility to increase the number of allowed users? On another server there are more than 2 users allowed. What is different there?

I worked around this issue by looping through the collection using Object instead, checking to see if it is an Integer, cast it to one, then do a .longValue() on it then add it to a temp ArraList. Yuk. The big problem is my application is supposed to handle records in the billions from a DB and the id will overflow the 2.147 billion limit of an integer. I would love to have BlazeDS or the JavaAdapter in it, translate the ActionScript Number to a Long as specified in the method. I hate that even though I use the generic the underlying element type of the collection is an Integer. If this was straight Java, it wouldn't compile. Any ideas are appreciated. Solutions are even better! :)

    Hi all. I was once looking for getting the HDD serial number without using WMI, and I found it. The code I found and posted on StackOverFlow.com works very well on 32 bit Windows, both XP and Vista. The trouble only begins when I try to get the serail number on 64 bit OSs (Vista Ultimate 64, specifically). The code returns String.Empty, or a Space all the time. Anyone got an idea how to fix this? The string can be: "hello there From 2010-03-04 00:00:00.0 to 2010-03-31 00:00:00.0" or "stuff like 2010-03-04 20:00:00.0 and 2010-03-31 00:00:02.0 blah blah" I'd like it to end up like: "stuff like 4 March 2010 and 31 March 2010 blah blah" Does anyone have any idea as to how this could be achieved?

  • Stuck in itunesconnect submission version number limbo...

    I did a very very stupid thing. I was uploading an update to my app on itunesconnect, but typed in the wrong version number. The version number I typed (1.02) was smaller than the one that's already up there (1.1). Apple accepted the submission, and planned to upload binary later. Went to upload the binary (also 1.02), but only AFTER uploading did Apple inform me that it can't accept my binary because it's a smaller number than the current version. BUT I CAN'T CHANGE THE VERSION NUMBER IN THE SUBMISSION FORM. AND I CAN'T CANCEL THE UPDATE. [string of profanity symbols] So now, Apple is waiting for an update that it will never accept. Surely I'm not the only dope who's done this. I've written to the Contact Us form, but is there anything else I can do? Anyone else had to deal with this, if so, how long did it take to sort out? Thanks for anything on this, even if it's just moral support, -k.

Perhaps a grid would be better for this, I am not sure.     Numbers whose only prime factors are 2, 3 or 5 are called ugly numbers. Example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, ... 1 can be considered as 2^0. I am working on finding nth ugly number. Note that these numbers are extremely sparsely distributed as n gets large. I wrote a trivial program that computes if a given number is ugly or not. For n 500 - it became super slow. I tried using memoization - observation: ugly_number * 2, ugly_number * 3, ugly_number * 5 are all ugly. Even with that it is slow. I tried using some properties of log - since that will reduce this problem from multiplication to addition - but, not much luck yet. Thought of sharing this with you all. Any interesting ideas? Using a concept similar to "Sieve of Eratosthenes" (thanks Anon) for (int i(2), uglyCount(0); ; i++) { if (i % 2 == 0) continue; if (i % 3 == 0) continue; if (i % 5 == 0) continue; uglyCount++; if (uglyCount == n - 1) break; } i is the nth ugly number. Even this is pretty slow. I am trying to find 1500th ugly number.

    I am writing an application which uses the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel assembly to export/import data from Excel spreadsheets. Everything was going fine (except for 1 based indexing and all those optional parameters!), until I tried to use conditional formatting. When I call Range.FormatConditions.Add I get a MissingMethodException telling me that no such method exists. This happens in both Vista and XP. It displays fine on the jsp page or in the ireports preview but when it generates the RFT format, it gives me the "Invalid text height" error. I have no idea which field is causing this error, is there a way in ireports to drill down exactly which field is causing it?

It is putting the two substitutions in with quotes around them. So it ends up like: ORDER BY 'somecol' 'DESC' Which is wrong should be: ORDER BY somecol DESC Any help greatly appreciated!

    I've been working on a project for school that takes functions from a class file and turns them into object/classes. The assignment is all about object oriented programming in scheme. My problem however is that my code doesn't format right. The output it gives me whenever I give it a file to pass in wraps the methods of the class in a list, making it so that the class never really gets declared.     I have some simple lists and bold/italic text to format with prawn. How do I get prawn to pay attention to the html tags instead of just displaying them explicitly. If prawn can't do this, what are my other options?
