Does anyone know of a website that will take a full screen shot of another website and let users write notes over it then send that annotated photo by email or private link? Basically looking for quicker way to write notes on a site other than taking a screen shot my self and putting it into photoshop.
Just an update, I don't need any browser extensions which I already have and do the same. I'm looking for a website app which does this to give to a client.
After booting fine frome a live USB I installed it and everything was going swimmingly but when I try to boot from the hard drive it just stops and I have to do a hard reboot. I tried booting into grub as recommended in other questions but it wouldn't work.
Here is a photo of the boot once stuck:
Same for recovery boot:
I've got an Asus K43SJ laptop with an intel i5, 4Gb of RAM, an nVidia GeForce GT 520M and a 750Gb hard drive.
When I connect my iPhone to Ubuntu 11.10, it gets automounted as afc://ca60751cc4b1ebb427c2f9da324914b0643a21f8/ and I can see that there are photos stored in afc://ca60751cc4b1ebb427c2f9da324914b0643a21f8/DCIM/103APPLE.
I would like to use programs to access these photo files, but they don't accept the afc:// protocol -- they accept only normal file system paths.
Is there a "normal file system equivalent" to afc:// paths?

I'm having a different problem. I made a html website and it contains Nivo Slider in the index page. The site is working perfectly when viewed locally.
I uploaded the site to remote server but the slider is not being displayed and the photo from the gallery is not working as expected ( popups on the local pc).
The url of the site is: http://d138444.u24.elitehostingwizard.com/
The screenshot from the local pc: http://postimg.org/image/lxiqzx7br/
Thanks

One of the applications that I like to use on my websites it the Quick Digital Image Gallery (QDIG) , which is a simple PHP-based image gallery that has just enough features to be really useful without a lot of work on my part to get it working. (Simple is always better - ;-] .) Here's a screenshot of QDIG in action with some Bing photos: (Click to enlarge photo.) The trouble is, QDIG creates some really heinous query string lines; see the URL line in the following screenshot for an example:...(read more)

I'm looking for a web based CMS that enables me to manage a sport team, I need the following features:
Calendar**
Schedule events (sync with the calendar, RSS feed), it would be great if I could schedule a weekly event too, so that I don't have to schedule it by hand each week**
Announcements (same RSS feed as events)**
A place where I can put some documentation, rules**
Keep track of the matches and scores
Photo and video gallery
** means feature is required; otherwise optional
Any technology for the CMS is probably fine, though I would prefer an SQLite-based CMS.

I'm about to branch off into the freelance world. I'm starting an LLC and I'd like some input on what I should title myself as the owner. For example "creative specialist" or "creative technician" or something like that.
My services would be:
Website design / development
Graphic design: icon design, templates, web graphics, business cards / brochures / letterheads / etc.
Writing: content writing/copywriting, technical writing, editing / proofreading / copyediting
Photography, photo editing
Does anybody have any ideas on some general terms that would apply to this type of business?

I am trying to put an NVIDIA Tesla K20C into a Dell PowerEdge R720xd. I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the power requirements of the card.
First, here is a picture of two pages of the same manual, which seems contradictory to me. One page says only a single connector is required, while the next page says both are required. The entire manual for the card can be found here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/PDF/kepler/Tesla-K20-Active-BD-06499-001-v02.pdf
Here is an photo taken of the power connections on the card:
And here is a photo of where those connectors need to go, onto the PCI-E riser of the r720xd:
Neither the R720xd NOR the GPU came with the necessary cables. And given what appears to be a contradiction in the GPU manual (above), I'm not even sure at this point what we actually need. I have searched high and low online for things like 2x6 pin PCI-E to 8 pin male-to-male and so on, and for the life of me cannot find what we need.
In case anyone needs it, the owner's manual of the R720xd can be found here: ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-r720xd_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf The relevant page is page 68, which clearly indicates that the 8-pin female port on the riser card is for a GPU.
The bottom line question: exactly what power cables do we need to buy, and where can we find them?

How to make an "import image" button/field in a PDF form?
I am designing a "Lost Pet" poster for a local animal shelter. The idea is to make a PDF file that users of the shelter's website can download, insert their pet's information, and then print it out if their pet goes missing.
I will be designing the poster in InDesign CS3, and then exporting it to a PDF file. I will then add form fields for the user to fill out.
I am ok with making text entry form fields. That is a simple matter.
What's not so simple is figuring out a way to allow the user to insert a photo of their lost pet into the PDF, save the file, and then print it out with the photo in it.
I am running Adobe Acrobat Professional 8. I am running it on a Mac. All of the searches I've done have told me that if I was running Acrobat in Windows, I'd have access to this other program called LiveCycle Designer which has pre-built form item libraries, including a Image Field. But I cannot find any similar option on the Mac version.
Has anyone has any experience doing something like this? If so, I could certainly use some tips on making this work.
Just a quick clarification...
This is a volunteer design project that I am doing for the shelter, so I don't want to spend money on any extra software/addons at all. I am hoping this can be done somehow with the pre-existing software I have.
I want to build let's name it a lowcost Ra*san which would host for our social site the images (many millions) we have 5 sizes of every photo with 3 KB, 7 KB, 15 KB, 25 KB and 80 KB per Image.
My idea is to build a Server with 24x consumer 240 GB SSD's in Raid 6 which will give me some 5 TB Disk space for the photo storage. To have HA I can add a 2nd one and use drdb.
I'm looking to get above 150'000 IOPS (4K Random reads).
As we mostly have read access only and rarely delete photos i think to go with consumer MLC SSD. I read many endurance reviews and don't see there a problem as long we don't rewrite the cells.
What you think about my idea?
- I'm not sure between Raid 6 or Raid 10 (more IOPS, cost SSD).
- Is ext4 OK for the filesystem
- Would you use 1 or 2 Raid controller, with Extender Backplane
If anyone has realized something similar i would be happy to get Real World numbers.
UPDATE
I have buy 12 (plus some spare) OCZ Talos 480GB SAS SSD Drive's they will be placed in a 12-bay DAS and attached to a PERC H800 (1GB NV Cache, manufactured by LSI with fastpath) Controller, I plan to setup Raid 50 with ext4. If someone is wondering about some benchmarks let me know what you would like to see.
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post. I tried searching for this issue and all that seemed to come up were questions posted from people who had this issue with their web pages. I couldn't find questions related to this issue from a laypersons perspective.
I'm not a developer. I have no domain, nor wish to have one at the time. Rather I'm just a regular person who likes to upload photos to some photo related sites. My uploading process constantly gets interrupted by one of these annoying API errors. I get it at least two times, one when I click the page to upload, and also right after it has uploaded. It also pops up if I go to edit a photo or delete it. This interrupts my browsing experience until I click okay.
I just want a fix for the annoying without having to register for a key. I tried before and it required a web domain. I rather not have to create a domain and go through such hoops just to fix this. Is there a solution for this problem that doesn't require registration?
Another thing to note: I have used two computers. One has the message pop-up and the other doesn't. What is different about the two computers?
Hello Everyone
I did install a QNAP NAS TS410 for a customer (professional photographer) with 3 Hitachi Deskstar 7200rpm 2TB disk configured as RAID5. The NAS and the workstations are connected over a Gigabit network.
He and his co-worker are accessing the photos (about 1TB of photos) over a mapped network drive from their windows machines (Windows XP - 32bit and Windows 7 Ultimate - 32bit). Both are using Photoshop CS5 to edit the photos.
The problem is that to save a edited photo takes a really long time, it takes about 3 times as long to save a photo as to open it.
After some tests I can exclude the network, the NAS and the windows machines as source of the issue. I think the problem is the Photoshop software and its handling of the network drives.
Officially network drives are not supported by Adobe.
I do not have any experience with the Adobe products, especially with Adobe Photoshop CS5.
What are your recommendation to solve the performance issue?
Should my customer copy the photos to the local drive, edit them and upload them again to the network drive or is Adobe Drive or Adobe Version Cue the answer?
One requirement is that the photos need to be accessible / editable from both computers even when one of them is offline. Adobe Version Cue needs a dedicated service running to be usable, so this solution is not possible as far as I understand the Cue software.
Thank you for your input to this issue and have a nice day :-)
Greetings

I want to take the DVD video slideshow that I got from my wedding photographer, and put the video on youtube (I have permission, I made sure to get the non-exclusive rights to use anything she created while working for me in any way I wanted when we working out the terms before-hand).
Can anyone suggest the best way to get a video file that can be uploaded to YouTube from this DVD? The source DVD is not encrypted, so I don't need to worry about that. I am using a Mac, so Mac-friendly suggestions are preferred.
Thanks!
EDIT: So, I tried Handbrake, and it looks very promising. However, When I select the title in Handbrake, it says it is about 12 minutes long. The resulting file ends up only being about 4 minutes long, and the music is messed up. It seems to be going normally through the photo transitions, but removing the time that the slideshow stays on each photo.
I believe the DVD was created using iDVD. Does it do anything weird to save space by varying hte framerate, or anything like that? Are there special settings in Handbrake I need to use?
