  • How can I create an fscanf format string to accept white space and comma (,) tokenization

    - by Jamie
    I've got some analysis code (myprog) that sucks in data using the following: if(5 == fscanf(in, "%s%lf%f%f%f", tag, & sec, & tgt, & s1, & s2)) which works just fine. But in the situation where I've got data files that are separated by commas, I'm currently doing something like: sed 's/,/ /g' data | myprog Can I modify the format string in the fscanf() function to accept both delimitation formats?

  • Raw Audio Conversion

    - by Walidix
    While, I'm reading gstreamer document I found this: " Audioconvert converts raw audio buffers between various possible formats. It supports integer to float conversion, width/depth conversion, signedness and endianness conversion and channel transformations." I only understand "depth" (bit number per sample) "signedness and endianness" (for data representation) And now, I'm looking for explanations of : "integer to float conversion" "width" "channel transformations" Thanks in advance

    - by Axel
    Hello, Probably many coders want to ask this question. it is What's the adventages of each one of those MySQL time formats. and which one you will prefer to use it in your apps. For me i use Unix timestamp because maybe i find it easy to convert & order records with it, and also because i never tried the DATETIME thing. but anyways i'm ready to change my mind if anyone tells me i'm wrong. Thanks

    - by srikanth rongali

  • List of drugs for sample data

    - by Skoder
    Where can I find a list of common medical drugs? Researching and typing 150+ drug names would be quite inefficient. In general, are there any sites which have a list of items for developers to use in applications? For example, you can download dictionaries in specific formats (e.g. XML) for use in word games.

  • Call phpexcel from joomla

    - by Oscar Calderon
    i have a problem about phpexcel and joomla. I'm developing some filter form to load excel reports, so i used phpexcel library to do this. Right now i have only a report, it works fine, but after that i upload inside joomla using PHP pages component that allows me to put php files inside joomla and call it. When i put them, i change a little bit the form that calls the php that generates the excel report, i call the php using a link like this: h**p://www.whiblix.com/index.php?option=com_php&Itemid=24 That is, calling it from Joomla, not directly the php. If i wanna call the php directly i could use this path: h**p://www.whiblix.com/components/com_php/files/repImportaciones.php What's the problem? The problem is, when i call the php that generates the excel through joomla, the excel that is downloaded is corrupt and only shows symbols in one cell when i open it. But if i call the php directly the report is generated fine. I could call the php directly, the problem is that if i call it directly i can't use this line of code: defined( '_JEXEC' ) or die( 'Restricted access' ); That is used to deny the direct access to php from call it directly, because it doesn' work because the security. Where's the problem? This is the code of php that generates the report (ommiting the code where generates the rows and cells): <?php //defined( '_JEXEC' ) or die( 'Restricted access' ); /** Error reporting */ error_reporting(E_ALL); date_default_timezone_set('Europe/London'); require_once 'Classes/PHPExcel.php'; // Create new PHPExcel object $objPHPExcel = new PHPExcel(); // Set properties $objPHPExcel->getProperties()->setCreator("Maarten Balliauw") ->setLastModifiedBy("Maarten Balliauw") ->setTitle("Office 2007 XLSX Test Document") ->setSubject("Office 2007 XLSX Test Document") ->setDescription("Test document for Office 2007 XLSX, generated using PHP classes.") ->setKeywords("office 2007 openxml php") ->setCategory("Test result file"); // Rename sheet $objPHPExcel->getActiveSheet()->setTitle('Reporte de Importaciones'); // Set active sheet index to the first sheet, so Excel opens this as the first sheet $objPHPExcel->setActiveSheetIndex(0); // Redirect output to a client’s web browser (Excel5) header('Content-Type: application/vnd.ms-excel'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment;filename="repPrueba.xls"'); header('Cache-Control: max-age=0'); $objWriter = PHPExcel_IOFactory::createWriter($objPHPExcel, 'Excel5'); $objWriter->save('php://output'); exit;

  • How to wrap LINQ to SQL queries in stored proc?

    - by Satish
    LINQ to SQL internally generates SQL queries and fire on the database after submitting changes. Is there any way we can wrap all these queries in some stored procedure and execute this store proc everytime when anything gets inserted or updated in the database. Problem is only stored procedures are allowed to carry any insert or update or delete operations, direct queries are restricted for security purpose.

  • Read/Write file metadata using C/C++

    - by Rajendra Kumar Uppal
    Hi, Searched through net, could't find a way to read/write file metadata using C or C++, however, there are tools available for this, and also there are API's in C# and Java to do this. But I want to do it from scratch in C or C++. For example, read/write image metadata. Have found out that there are three formats in which metadata is written to files. EXIF, IPTC and XMP. Thanks.

  • compressed archive with quick access to individual file

    - by eric.frederich
    I need to come up with a file format for new application I am writing. This file will need to hold a bunch other text files which are mostly text but can be other formats as well. Naturally, a compressed tar file seems to fit the bill. The problem is that I want to be able to retrieve some data from the file very quickly and getting just a particular file from a tar.gz file seems to take longer than it should. I am assumeing that this is because it has to decompress the entire file even though I just want one. When I have just a regular uncompressed tar file I can get that data real quick. Lets say the file I need quickly is called data.dat For example the command... tar -x data.dat -zf myfile.tar.gz ... is what takes a lot longer than I'd like. MP3 files have id3 data and jpeg files have exif data that can be read in quickly without opening the entire file. I would like my data.dat file to be available in a similar way. I was thinking that I could leave it uncompressed and seperate from the rest of the files in myfile.tar.gz I could then create a tar file of data.dat and myfile.tar.gz and then hopefully that data would be able to be retrieved faster because it is at the head of outer tar file and is uncompressed. Does this sound right?... putting a compressed tar inside of a tar file? Basically, my need is to have an archive type of file with quick access to one particular file. Tar does this just fine, but I'd also like to have that data compressed and as soon as I do that, I no longer have quick access. Are there other archive formats that will give me that quick access I need? As a side note, this application will be written in Python. If the solution calls for a re-invention of the wheel with my own binary format I am familiar with C and would have no problem writing the Python module in C. Idealy I'd just use tar, dd, cat, gzip, etc though. Thanks, ~Eric

  • Media Information Extractor for Java

    - by eyazici
    I need a media information extraction library (pure Java or JNI wrapper) that can handle common media formats. I primarily use it for video files and I need at least these information: Video length (Runtime) Video bitrate Video framerate Video format and codec Video size (width X height) Audio channels Audio format Audio bitrate and sampling rate There are several libraries and tools around but I couldn't find for Java.

  • strtotime() doesn't work with dd/mm/YYYY format!

    - by Syom
    I really like the strtotime() function, but the user manual doesn't give a complete description of the supported date formats. strtotime('dd/mm/YYYY') doesn't work, it works only with mm/dd/YYYY format. if i have date in dd/mm/YYYY format, ho can i convert it to YYYY-mm-dd? i can do it by using explode() function, but i think tere are better solution. Thanks

  • Ruby: play, pause, resume aac (audio) files

    - by rahul
    I need to play, pause and resume AAC (audio) files from a ruby console program (much like iTunes or any music player). After much searching, I've come across these libraries: mp3info metadata id3lib-ruby rvideo (uses ffmpeg) These seem to help me in getting track length and tags which i also need, but I need something to play AAC (at least) and if possible other formats. I also must be able to pause and resume (so shelling a program like mpg321 is out).

  • How do you perform address validation?

    - by Kevin Pang
    Is it even possible to perform address (physical, not e-mail) validation? It seems like the sheer number of address formats, even in the US alone, would make this a fairly difficult task. On the other hand, it seems like a task that would be necessary for several business requirements.

  • javascript to determine if page on remote domain has changed

    - by uku
    Hi, I am trying to find a client-side way to determine if a page on a remote domain has changed. I can't load the page in an iframe and examine its contents due to same origin policy. So I tried using .getResponseHeader("Content-Length") and .getResponseHeader("Last-Modified") but apparently these are also restricted by SOP even though FireBug shows Content-Length in the console. Is there a way to do this? I just need a way to know if the page has changed. Thx
